Perfectly done Peter! Pause if you need to express yourself. However, once you get half way through the song try to wait. Floor and the band usually build up to the emotional payoff from the middle section (Bridge/breakdown) until the ending. We all love when a reactor feels the power and emotional climax. This is what Nightwish music is all about. Emotion. You will hear the wind chimes on a few other songs. You will discover many different styles from very heavy and dark to soft and soothing, as well as a Celtic folk influence. Four elements are always present. Beautiful melodies, amazing vocals, creative compositions, and lyricism that uses allegory, metaphors, and imagery taking it to the level of poetry. If you want longer songs, no worries. Two of their so called big 3 are yet to come. One of them, "The Poet and the Pendulum" you will benefit from a little understanding of the concept of the song and the backstory. Yes, the famous short horror story from Poe was part of the inspiration for this song for the layout of the arrangement, and other aspects as well. We usually suggest waiting a little bit for you to learn a little bit about the history of the band and the personalities. Especially Tuomas, the keyboardist and songwriter of most of the music and lyrics of Nightwish music. If you understand how his mind works a little bit you will better follow his poetic lyrics and ideas. This song is all about the dismissal and parting with their first vocalist Tarja Turunen who was a childhood friend. There was harsh criticism heaped on Tuomas from the media and fans, due to their devoted love for Tarja's unique and very operatic vocal styling. The 2nd song is Tuomas' Grand Opus called "The Greatest Show on Earth". No, it is not in reference to Nightwish. He would never be so pompous to infer that much praise on his dream that is Nightwish. When you are ready, check out the version live from Tampere Finland in 2015. Also try to get the one with Lyrics in the subs. It helps to understand the concept of this one. It encompasses, how shall I say, EVERYTHING! I would suggest you do one of the following to better understand this band. Either go to Gabriel Bardac's YT channel and spend some time reading about the bands history. Or maybe go to Tuomas' Wikipedia page and read about his story and his musical inspirations. 'As far as what to react to next, maybe look at Gabriel's lists. Each one has a short description of the song style. Lot's of great videos from the Nightwish Arena YT channel as well. I am not sure what your favorite style of music is and there are quite diverse song styles in the Nightwish repertoire. An elderly writer looks back on his life of storytelling and all the other stories recalled from the past - including of course Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland. This tour was to promote the album Imaginaerum (not InaginARIum) and the band are the actors in the eponymous movie which was premiered at the November 2012 Helsinki concert. That movie, dark and disturbing in some ways, casts a lot of light on the songs from the album and includes many of them. Watching it will explain a lot of the lyrics and stories told in the songs In Storytime you get the "writer by the fire" imagining "all of Gaia", the storyteller who takes a "journey into a child-man's heart" (ie Tuomas who is a great Disney and Fantasy fan). The "painter on the shore" tells his stories through pictures rather than writing, holding the snowflake in his palm. This refers to the movie in which a snow globe plays an important symbolic role tying things together. Kites, chimneys, moonlit sights - think of Mary Poppins... I recommend the movie. Wacken, yes a great show. But Floor has matured and got even better over the years. A couple of years later Wembley and Tampere were in the Endless Forms tour and you can see how Floor has grown into the role. I prefer both those shows, as shows (I wouldn't want to be without the performances at Wacken, never to be repeated on later tours though. After all, without Wacken we wouldn't have a Floor performance on video of my No 2 Song of Myself). Best of all is 2018 at Buenos Aires which celebrated the Decades retrospective of 20+ years touring and brought back many early songs,breinterpreted and in most cases improved, with Floor. Of my top 6, 2 are from that show - Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean and Dead Boy's Poem and others are close behind (Slaying the Dreamer, Gethsemane, The Carpenter, End of All Hope and the opening Uilleann Pipe solo reinterpretation of Swanheart are among them but there are more).

When she pulled that finale out of herself it was pure primal effort and inability to be beaten. She is a demigod. More than mere mortal. Just magic.

As you have discovered, Floor is an Enchantress. The exploration of Nightwish is a journey that will enthrall you like no other. All of the songs on that tour were originally recorded with the previous 2 singers, Tarja & Annette . Floor added her own touches in many songs that weren't in original recordings.
Did you notice that man with hat in audience at time 4:09 ? He's 'time traveler'. He went to the Joe Cocker concert in 1971, but suddenly appears to the Wacken festival! :D

Storytime is part of the concept album / film music Imaginaerum. The song introduces the main character. The tinkling is a music box that sits on the main character's piano. You will encounter it again at the concert. The film will have been one of the reasons for the break with the second singer in the middle of the tour. The tour break Anette wanted was not possible because the income was needed for the film. The unplanned change from Anette to Floor must have been a consequence of this. In the studio version, only the opera choir can be heard in the intermezzo because Anette had no classical vocal training.
Originally Floor was sent by Allfather Odhinn to Midgard to gather the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla, but she got distracted and joined a series of bands. However, Floor still gathers souls by her grace, beauty and the sheer power of her vocals. Probably should’ve watched this before leaving my comment on GLS. Some pausing is fine I think it’s more just finding the right time to pause and not in the middle of something. Nice reaction my man! Personally I like the pauses during the initial watch. We’ve all seen these songs a hundred times, we’re here for your commentary. So pause away! One tip I like is when reactors rewind 5 seconds or so after a pause to let us get back into the song
Floor is magnificent in this song, as always. Marko on the bass always nails it and, just wait until you hear him sing. It is very rare for a band to have two singers of such high caliber at the same time. I would suggest either Romanticide, or Song of Myself as your next song, to get a taste of how well they work together. You mentioned the lyrics, and that, and the composition itself, is the work of the keyboardist, Tuomas Holopainen, often called the Metal Mozart. All in all, you have such a fun journey ahead of you, getting to know the entire band, and its awesome musicians.

Subscribed. Like I said in my other comment on Ghost Love Score, I don't mind stopping in the middle of the song at all if you take it back a bit before starting again. But this style of analysing at the end with replaying the parts you want to talk about, and not just trying to remember your thoughts throughout the song, works perfectly 👌 . I like your style of commenting and the way you show your emotions.

Nightwish is their own genre and no other band comes close to the level they are at. Never, in the history of music entertainment, have a set of skills and talent collided in such powerful manner. Tuomas is a true genius as a composer and with lyrics. Btw. As you tumble deeper to the NW rabbit hole you'll discover several masterpieces which are longer than regular 3-5 min. Especially "the holy trinity" ( The Greatest Show On Earth, The Poet And The Pendulum, Dead Boy’s Poem ). But I recommend you follow general Gabriels list and do some research before those...
aah, much better without the cutting and editing ! thats what i call a good reaction video, so i subbed ;) "need to hear the bridge again" ... and nonstop to the end ! seams you are already deeply hooked, hope you will find an interest for the old stuff too. Floor is the 3rd main vocalist and in Wacken she was ~10 months in the band as a tour replacement for the 2nd main vocalist who got "ill". They would never reach that levels of their stuff today without their history but i understand that overwelming power of Floor´s voice and stage control, so just lean back and let go :)

Another excellent reaction! I’m going to go out on a limb and recommend a couple that don’t usually get reactions until further into the reactor’s journey…not because they are less than or extra complicated or anything, just because there seem to be a few songs that get reacted to in the same order all the time, and I feel like it causes the reactor to miss a couple of details about the band that they then seem to be surprised by later on. For example, there is a sixth member of the band…Troy…who is from the UK and plays all sorts of traditionally non-metal instruments (Uilleann pipes [Irish bagpipes], flutes and whistles, bouzouki, etc.) and sings, as well. He doesn’t show up much in the Wacken 2013 show, which is where a lot of new reactors seem to get stuck in due to the aforementioned “order” of songs they are asked to react to. To see him in action, I’d recommend a song from a later concert, such as My Walden from the Tampere 2015 show. Another thing that reactors are surprised by because it gets put off so far into their reaction journey that, while they will see/hear Marko sing backing vocals early on, there are a few songs he sings lead on and, surprisingly, two of them are two of the softest, gentlest songs in the band’s repertoire. I’d recommend either The Islander live from Tampere or While Your Lips Are Still Red live at Wembley. I saw someone else in the comments recommend the acoustic version of How’s the Heart…that’s another one that gets saved for later a lot…and it’s also quite a different performance for them…just Floor, Troy and an acoustic guitar…beautiful. ☮️
I love the songs suggested. Excellent to see some of the other sides to Nightwish. They often incorporate a folky, Celtic, sometimes purely acoustic sound along with their classical and various types of metal elements.

Now, I know these aren't the run of the mill, and many fans would skip them, and they're nowhere at the top of General Gabriels list(s), so it's completely up to you but... Having listened to your music, I think these would resonate with you. Whether you decide to do them on channel or not, I would still recommend them for you. "How's the heart acoustic at planet rock", "The Crow, the Owl and the Dove (Official Fan Video)", "Nightwish (Walking In The Air Live Performance)", "The Islander - Live at Tampere". Congrats, very very good reaction! The greatest show on earth and The poet and the pendulum are masterpieces , but my suggestion is to not hurry with them , save the best for last! Also try to get to know the group in little more depth, before these masterpieces. Song of my self or romanticide , will be a good choices for the next reactions. I understand that if you stop too often people say don't do it, but when you listened to the song the second time I saw your facial expression and thought this is nicer to see... the way in between is stop less and if there is a bridge is take a break from talking, that's what people do who stop and go back a bit after talking. Towards the end there is a build-up, so I would wait until the end and then talk. Continue to express yourself as you are and above all enjoy it. great response thanks
Glad you decided to react to them again,They’re definitely a band that are better live,their studio stuff is good but it’s their live performances where they shine…they go from operatic though to rock,folk,Celtic and on to thrash and everything in between,hope you decide to dip your toe into some more..if you do then definitely use Gabriel’s list as it has the best quality videos performance and audio wise.👍
Storytime, my favorite Nightwish song. Has to be sung by Floor though. The part after the drum solo when she goes operatic, that is my ringtone on my phone. Nightwish with Floor and Marco (2013 - 2020) is the ultimate metal band. There are no other metal bands. Those are in the garbage genre.
He let the entire song play straight thru without interruption before he began his analysis....... After that I don't care if he stops every 10 seconds. The reviews that are annoying to me are the ones where right on their first listen they stop constantly...... I feel like they never get the "flow" of the song when they do that!
Dude, if you want longer, epic, majestic, try their song Greatest Show on Earth about the beginnings of earth and evolution of life from 4.6B years ago to present. The Wembley 2015 version even has evolutionary biologist and author Richard Dawkins on stage at the very end, quoting from Darwin's Origin of the Species. However, my fave (just) is live from Tampere, Finland. Again, play it right into the credits for the (this time) recorded voice of Dawkins. 20min or so of brilliance. 🤘😎🤘

Anyone who says the are 'prepared for this band' is, well, in Neverneverland (as far as honesty goes). RE The children's chorus... It is such a pity that Jukka had to stop drumming in 2014/2015 because of severe health problems. He was such a passionate drummer but his friend Kai Hatho who replaced him since 2015 also is a great drummer. If you love tribal drums listen to the song called "Tribal". It is rather heavy and with a lot of drumming.
Don't be afraid to pause. I know you got grief for your GLS reaction because you paused a bit too much, but we understand these are reaction videos and that you want to say something. Just pick appropriate moments and we'll be fine with it. On a technical issue, Nightwish typically don't mind uninterrupted playing of their videos so you're unlikely to get a copyright strike. The exceptions to that are Sahara and The Poet and the Pendulum. One of my favourite parts of this song is when Floor is duetting with the horn section of the orchestra. Nobody ever seems to mention that bit, but I like it. I'm going to suggest a quick detour for one of your future reactions. It isn't Nightwish, but it is 2 of the band members (Tuomas and Troy) along with Tuomas's wife Johanna. They have a side project called Auri and they currently have 2 albums to their name. All of their songs are stunning, and you will love Johanna's angelic voice I'm sure, but maybe start with Pearl Diving. Subscribed.
I would recommend not to listen too much to feedback in the comments. Hear what they say and then think for yourself. When you hit a large crowd such as the NW-army, they are not very uniform in how they prefer their content delivered. If I speak for myself: If I want to listen to the song, I play the song. If I want a reaction, I want people to react (especially if they are knowledgeable and have something to bring to the table). For what it is worth, I like this format where you really go back pieces of the song that stood out to you, but I also know that is a lot more work editing. You can safely ignore this comment, just like you can safely ignore the other feedback. It's your channel, you can do as you please. Do you really want entitled people in your target audience? Perfectly done Peter! Pause if you need to express yourself. However, once you get half way through the song try to wait. Floor and the band usually build up to the emotional payoff from the middle section (Bridge/breakdown) until the ending. We all love when a reactor feels the power and emotional climax. This is what Nightwish music is all about. Emotion.
You will hear the wind chimes on a few other songs. You will discover many different styles from very heavy and dark to soft and soothing, as well as a Celtic folk influence.
Four elements are always present. Beautiful melodies, amazing vocals, creative compositions, and lyricism that uses allegory, metaphors, and imagery taking it to the level of poetry. If you want longer songs, no worries. Two of their so called big 3 are yet to come. One of them, "The Poet and the Pendulum" you will benefit from a little understanding of the concept of the song and the backstory. Yes, the famous short horror story from Poe was part of the inspiration for this song for the layout of the arrangement, and other aspects as well.
We usually suggest waiting a little bit for you to learn a little bit about the history of the band and the personalities. Especially Tuomas, the keyboardist and songwriter of most of the music and lyrics of Nightwish music. If you understand how his mind works a little bit you will better follow his poetic lyrics and ideas.
This song is all about the dismissal and parting with their first vocalist Tarja Turunen who was a childhood friend. There was harsh criticism heaped on Tuomas from the media and fans, due to their devoted love for Tarja's unique and very operatic vocal styling.
The 2nd song is Tuomas' Grand Opus called "The Greatest Show on Earth". No, it is not in reference to Nightwish. He would never be so pompous to infer that much praise on his dream that is Nightwish. When you are ready, check out the version live from Tampere Finland in 2015. Also try to get the one with Lyrics in the subs. It helps to understand the concept of this one. It encompasses, how shall I say, EVERYTHING!
I would suggest you do one of the following to better understand this band. Either go to Gabriel Bardac's YT channel and spend some time reading about the bands history. Or maybe go to Tuomas' Wikipedia page and read about his story and his musical inspirations.
'As far as what to react to next, maybe look at Gabriel's lists. Each one has a short description of the song style. Lot's of great videos from the Nightwish Arena YT channel as well. I am not sure what your favorite style of music is and there are quite diverse song styles in the Nightwish repertoire.

An elderly writer looks back on his life of storytelling and all the other stories recalled from the past - including of course Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland.
This tour was to promote the album Imaginaerum (not InaginARIum) and the band are the actors in the eponymous movie which was premiered at the November 2012 Helsinki concert.
That movie, dark and disturbing in some ways, casts a lot of light on the songs from the album and includes many of them. Watching it will explain a lot of the lyrics and stories told in the songs
In Storytime you get the "writer by the fire" imagining "all of Gaia", the storyteller who takes a "journey into a child-man's heart" (ie Tuomas who is a great Disney and Fantasy fan).
The "painter on the shore" tells his stories through pictures rather than writing, holding the snowflake in his palm. This refers to the movie in which a snow globe plays an important symbolic role tying things together.
Kites, chimneys, moonlit sights - think of Mary Poppins...
I recommend the movie.
Wacken, yes a great show. But Floor has matured and got even better over the years. A couple of years later Wembley and Tampere were in the Endless Forms tour and you can see how Floor has grown into the role. I prefer both those shows, as shows (I wouldn't want to be without the performances at Wacken, never to be repeated on later tours though. After all, without Wacken we wouldn't have a Floor performance on video of my No 2 Song of Myself).
Best of all is 2018 at Buenos Aires which celebrated the Decades retrospective of 20+ years touring and brought back many early songs,breinterpreted and in most cases improved, with Floor.
Of my top 6, 2 are from that show - Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean and Dead Boy's Poem and others are close behind (Slaying the Dreamer, Gethsemane, The Carpenter, End of All Hope and the opening Uilleann Pipe solo reinterpretation of Swanheart are among them but there are more).
The magic of Nightwish is like nothing I have experienced before - pure beauty!

All of the songs on that tour were originally recorded with the previous 2 singers, Tarja & Annette . Floor added her own touches in many songs that weren't in original recordings.

Storytime is part of the concept album / film music Imaginaerum. The song introduces the main character. The tinkling is a music box that sits on the main character's piano. You will encounter it again at the concert.
The film will have been one of the reasons for the break with the second singer in the middle of the tour. The tour break Anette wanted was not possible because the income was needed for the film. The unplanned change from Anette to Floor must have been a consequence of this.
In the studio version, only the opera choir can be heard in the intermezzo because Anette had no classical vocal training.
Originally Floor was sent by Allfather Odhinn to Midgard to gather the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla, but she
got distracted and joined a series of bands. However, Floor still gathers souls by her grace, beauty and the sheer power
of her vocals.
We give thanks for her at our Blots regularly and hope that Odhinn won't notice that she has never returned to Asgard.

Next try Romanticide from the same concert for the opposite end of their spectrum. It is very metal.
Floor is magnificent in this song, as always. Marko on the bass always nails it and, just wait until you hear him sing. It is very rare for a band to have two singers of such high caliber at the same time. I would suggest either Romanticide, or Song of Myself as your next song, to get a taste of how well they work together. You mentioned the lyrics, and that, and the composition itself, is the work of the keyboardist, Tuomas Holopainen, often called the Metal Mozart. All in all, you have such a fun journey ahead of you, getting to know the entire band, and its awesome musicians.

But this style of analysing at the end with replaying the parts you want to talk about, and not just trying to remember your thoughts throughout the song, works perfectly 👌 . I like your style of commenting and the way you show your emotions.

Nightwish is their own genre and no other band comes close to the level they are at. Never, in the history of music entertainment, have a set of skills and talent collided in such powerful manner. Tuomas is a true genius as a composer and with lyrics.
Btw. As you tumble deeper to the NW rabbit hole you'll discover several masterpieces which are longer than regular 3-5 min. Especially "the holy trinity" ( The Greatest Show On Earth, The Poet And The Pendulum, Dead Boy’s Poem ). But I recommend you follow general Gabriels list and do some research before those...

seams you are already deeply hooked, hope you will find an interest for the old stuff too. Floor is the 3rd main vocalist and in Wacken she was ~10 months in the band as a tour replacement for the 2nd main vocalist who got "ill".
They would never reach that levels of their stuff today without their history

Funny you mentioned in your describing this song with the word “tribal”. Now you need to check out the Official Music Video by the same name TRIBAL!
Maybe try Noise, the official music video, followed by live opener from their Deichbrand concert in 2022. It'd be interesting to hear what you see as differences.
Another excellent reaction! I’m going to go out on a limb and recommend a couple that don’t usually get reactions until further into the reactor’s journey…not because they are less than or extra complicated or anything, just because there seem to be a few songs that get reacted to in the same order all the time, and I feel like it causes the reactor to miss a couple of details about the band that they then seem to be surprised by later on. For example, there is a sixth member of the band…Troy…who is from the UK and plays all sorts of traditionally non-metal instruments (Uilleann pipes [Irish bagpipes], flutes and whistles, bouzouki, etc.) and sings, as well. He doesn’t show up much in the Wacken 2013 show, which is where a lot of new reactors seem to get stuck in due to the aforementioned “order” of songs they are asked to react to. To see him in action, I’d recommend a song from a later concert, such as My Walden from the Tampere 2015 show. Another thing that reactors are surprised by because it gets put off so far into their reaction journey that, while they will see/hear Marko sing backing vocals early on, there are a few songs he sings lead on and, surprisingly, two of them are two of the softest, gentlest songs in the band’s repertoire. I’d recommend either The Islander live from Tampere or While Your Lips Are Still Red live at Wembley. I saw someone else in the comments recommend the acoustic version of How’s the Heart…that’s another one that gets saved for later a lot…and it’s also quite a different performance for them…just Floor, Troy and an acoustic guitar…beautiful. ☮️
I love the songs suggested. Excellent to see some of the other sides to Nightwish. They often incorporate a folky, Celtic, sometimes purely acoustic sound along with their classical and various types of metal elements.

Congrats, very very good reaction! The greatest show on earth and The poet and the pendulum are masterpieces , but my suggestion is to not hurry with them , save the best for last! Also try to get to know the group in little more depth, before these masterpieces. Song of my self or romanticide , will be a good choices for the next reactions. I understand that if you stop too often people say don't do it, but when you listened to the song the second time I saw your facial expression and thought this is nicer to see... the way in between is stop less and if there is a bridge is take a break from talking, that's what people do who stop and go back a bit after talking. Towards the end there is a build-up, so I would wait until the end and then talk. Continue to express yourself as you are and above all enjoy it. great response thanks

Glad you decided to react to them again,They’re definitely a band that are better live,their studio stuff is good but it’s their live performances where they shine…they go from operatic though to rock,folk,Celtic and on to thrash and everything in between,hope you decide to dip your toe into some more..if you do then definitely use Gabriel’s list as it has the best quality videos performance and audio wise.👍

Storytime, my favorite Nightwish song. Has to be sung by Floor though. The part after the drum solo when she goes operatic, that is my ringtone on my phone. Nightwish with Floor and Marco (2013 - 2020) is the ultimate metal band. There are no other metal bands. Those are in the garbage genre.

He let the entire song play straight thru without interruption before he began his analysis....... After that I don't care if he stops every 10 seconds. The reviews that are annoying to me are the ones where right on their first listen they stop constantly...... I feel like they never get the "flow" of the song when they do that!

Hello, i belong to nightwish army since our beloved Mother Ann Waychoff was guiding us. This reaction was such more better than Gls because you listened to it without pausing showing us your feelings and then analized with detail. It was Great! But i am very sad with the NW army... 13 k views with GLS and 7k with this one and only 740 subs is an insult to you and the beautifull reaction that you made. I am truly sorry. Keep up the good work and travel deep in the NW story you will not regret it! I will be here with you!
I really appreciate the comment! We'll get the views and metrics up as the channel starts to snowball and I stay consistent. My retro gaming channel is at 64K, it just takes time, passion and consistency for these endeavors to grow. For something i'm brand new to doing, i'm very happy with how its going!

It is such a pity that Jukka had to stop drumming in 2014/2015 because of severe health problems. He was such a passionate drummer but his friend Kai Hatho who replaced him since 2015 also is a great drummer. If you love tribal drums listen to the song called "Tribal". It is rather heavy and with a lot of drumming.
Don't be afraid to pause. I know you got grief for your GLS reaction because you paused a bit too much, but we understand these are reaction videos and that you want to say something. Just pick appropriate moments and we'll be fine with it. On a technical issue, Nightwish typically don't mind uninterrupted playing of their videos so you're unlikely to get a copyright strike. The exceptions to that are Sahara and The Poet and the Pendulum.
One of my favourite parts of this song is when Floor is duetting with the horn section of the orchestra. Nobody ever seems to mention that bit, but I like it.
I'm going to suggest a quick detour for one of your future reactions. It isn't Nightwish, but it is 2 of the band members (Tuomas and Troy) along with Tuomas's wife Johanna. They have a side project called Auri and they currently have 2 albums to their name. All of their songs are stunning, and you will love Johanna's angelic voice I'm sure, but maybe start with Pearl Diving. Subscribed.

I would recommend not to listen too much to feedback in the comments. Hear what they say and then think for yourself. When you hit a large crowd such as the NW-army, they are not very uniform in how they prefer their content delivered.
If I speak for myself: If I want to listen to the song, I play the song. If I want a reaction, I want people to react (especially if they are knowledgeable and have something to bring to the table). For what it is worth, I like this format where you really go back pieces of the song that stood out to you, but I also know that is a lot more work editing.
You can safely ignore this comment, just like you can safely ignore the other feedback. It's your channel, you can do as you please. Do you really want entitled people in your target audience? Good luck in building your channel!
