This video wasn't meant to be a tribute to meshuggah tone so sorry for not playing meshuggah riffs and not having a “proper” guitar and tuning you probably came here to see. I did the mods to my Sovtek just for having a “modified hot rodded modern Plexi - jcm800 - Friedman’ish” amp in my arsenal for any music tasks and goals. This is just a long playthrough video. Enjoy!;)

That is a studio vintage marshall? I have one and can definitely be fizzy. 1 things that help for me. 1 - coily cable (drops highs). I use the bullet coily cable. I was surprised how much it changed the tone. 2 - Presence knob I keep all the way "down" at like 7- I rarely ever run it past 10. Also, I tend to have the treble knob all the way off too.

Perfect gear. Is the Sovtek a Mig 50 or Mig 100? Are they both Marshall 2204 clones?

I have a 50 cal. (4-El 84's, no 5 band EQ sliders) not the 50 cal.+ (2-6L6's w/EQ sliders). It's a versatile KILLER! I added a Boogie 5 band EQ pedal to the mix and it REALLY came alive. One of the best values on the used market 7:55 (for now. People used to think Fender tweed Deluxe's were crap. Now you can't touch one for less than $3,000)

Nice! I remember buying a Thrash Master in the 90s at a local music expo for like $20. Used it for a few years but ended up selling it. Kinda wish I had held on to it as it has it's own unique flavor.

by my experience ds-1 and ds-2 that is a little fluller sounding have a good tone ma not enough distortion by only themsleves. they have to be boosted with a tubesceamer sort of.

how TH did you get your lil combo to sound so massive?? evn tho i'm a G12H30 70th anniv owner, i have to say i like the greenback toan better in this context, which is similar to my own rig.
