@Shelfandtabletoplayouts00gauge Many thanks for your kind comment. We are very pleased you enjoyed this video.
Confirms this is still the best miniature of the period that exists. Gives inspiration for some upcoming modelling on my own layout!

@landhopper4296 We totally agree, there is so much to see around Pendon Museum. For a virtual tour of our surroundings that inspired our model building (if you cannot visit us) can be found within this playlist: ruclips.net/video/_0px_JEvRXM/видео.html

What a fantastic journey around the village, so soothing and relaxing. A model of a different time and a different people. Can we apply to move into one of the cottages😊?

So evocative and beautifully filmed & narrated. Shows off these stunning models and scenes to perfection. Thank you.
@davidhinks8384 Thank you for watching and thank you for your great comments. We hope you enjoyed the tour....
Thanks once again for a superb video, highlighting some of the details of this incredible model, and for showing views that are not possible from ‘behind the glass’. Someone must have had fun animating the builder’s lorry! I never thought that I would criticise anything about Pendon, but the brutal close ups reveal that a few of the figures are not modelled to standard of everything else, although I doubt that I could do better!
@brakecompo2005 Thank you for watching and for your kind comments and observations. We are very pleased you enjoyed watching this episode from the series 'Down the Lane'.

The voice of experience we wonder? 😉
My mam used to have a a brick in the outside wall of her house with the words “miners strick 1926” scribed into it,presumably before it was fired.Alas, she has now passed and the new occupants have had it rendered,so it’s now lost
Many thanks for sharing that info. A shame it was rendered over.
I know it's not necessarily the right area but I feel this could be overdubbed with the theme of Last of the Summer Wine or Dvorjak's largo movement from Symphony no9. This just feels so beautifully bucolic and reminiscent of a simpler time.
Thank you @OllieTattersall for your comments and suggestion, maybe when we produce another Drivers view we can incorporate some extra effects. thank you for watching.

It seems to be a general rule that the longer the railway company's name, the less cash it actually had.
You could well be right! Many thanks for watching, we hope you enjoyed the video.
Obviously the loco does not have a coreless motor ! And sounds as if it is in desperate need of some decent 12v DC motor lubricant !!!!
Thank you again for your observation, @railwaymechanicalengineer4587 . Another of our much viewed and enjoyed videos. We hope you too enjoyed the visual experience of seeing the Vale from the drivers cab.
The New York Central, had trains carrying coaches and sleepers[Pullmans],to various points on the system! One train, could have coaches and sleepers for Toronto,Pittsburgh, and Chicago, split at Buffalo! There were also through coaches and sleepers to Los Angeles,San Francisco, and points,on the Santa Fe,or Union Pacific,as an example! The US railroads had many cross country connections, and that example cited above, was on of many! Pullman had about 10,000 pieces of rolling stock,so the railroads had a hefty reserve for traffic surges! A bit of parallel US history! Thank you 😇 😊!
Thank you @robertthuron9160. It's really good to hear of rail comparisons from other Countries. Yours is very interesting, thanks again for sharing and do stay tuned for more episodes.
Love it, thank you.
That's great to hear @simoncowan, we are really pleased you enjoyed this video and hopefully you will find some others in our collection that you will enjoy.
INCOMPATABLE COACH COUPLING & GANGWAY TYPES !!! At 0:17 is a coupling issue ! The SR, LNER, Pullman Company & BR used, Pullman designed semi-rigid corridor connections, and by default had to use the semi-automatic rigid Buckeye coupling, and retractable buffers. The GWR & the LMS, refused to adopt these more modern methods. So they continued to use the British Standard Suspension gangway (BSS), the traditional chain type coach coupling called a "Screw Link", and normal sprung buffers. This of course means that in normal operating circumstances, you cannot couple GWR/LMS type coaches to SR/LNER/BR/Pullman coaches. This disability could only be catered for by affixing special "Adaptor plates" to the BSS Gangway. But it could take four men, half an hour to affix such an adaptor, IF one was available ! Hence to cater for "inter-regional" services, coaches used on such trains, would be allocated on a semi-permanent basis, having been pre-fitted with the necessary adaptors. Which allowed the BSS gangway to physically "attach" to the Pullman type. NOTE: Pullman gangways do not attach to each other, they only rub each other, hence their wide rubbing plate edges. Further they have hidden "hydraulic buffing gear" in the floor section of the Pullman gangway, known as the "rubbing bar". Meaning their regular buffers MUST be in the retracted position, when the Buckeye coupling is used, to avoid derailments in sharp curves and pointwork. To couple to a loco or a GWR/LMS Screwlink coupling, the Buckeye had to be lowered. This heavy coupling was mounted on a hidden hinge. The "pin" had to be pulled out, to allow it to be lowered to reveal a standard coupling hook. Raising it later, was a little harder as it weighed at least 1.5cwt !!!
@railwaymechanicalengineer4587. Thank you for your information and observations, we are pleased our video is so closely watched and hope you enjoyed it as so many others have.
I'd be happy to get my scenery at least 20% as good as this. look forward to visiting one day soon to see it up close 🎉
Many thanks @_RandomPea, we look forward to seeing you, do leave yourself plenty of time for your visit....
Beautiful layout. Love the attention to detail. Thanks for sharing. I love the open space. A lot of layouts (mine included!) are limited by space and cram too much into a space that is too small. Liked and Subbed! Cheers, Andy
Many thanks Andy. We are fortunate that the Vale Scene Diorama at Pendon is the size of a tennis court! Lots of room for everything and always scope to add to the scene to keep the museum interesting for even the most frequent visitor.
Great video! Fantastic realism - and "Charlie" earning his corn (hay probably!) hard at work!
Thank you for that kind endorsement @geoffreypeart-b1z, Charlie certainly deserves his feed when you think what he has to do during the working day.
Charlie looks quite small for a Shire but otherwise beautifully observed and modelled.
Very pleased you enjoyed the video @garrymartin6474. We will make sure Charlie has bigger portions in future :).
Lovely video. Thankyou!

Such a wonderful museum.I really did not believe all the fuss about Pendon till I visited. You have to go a few times to properly appreciate the quality.
We totally agree @kimmarsh5387. There are so many aspects of Pendon to see and enjoy and we are always pleased to hear that returning visits are such a good experience as well.
Absolutely love the look of the new yard(s)! I remember hearing in the 1971 interview with Roye England, he mentioned the walls and brickwork of the buildings were constructed out of card, is that still the case for all the structures?
Thank you @jacobarisz9272, we are pleased you like the tour of the Station yards. And yes, all buildings are still made from card as evolved by our Founder Roye England. Brick or stone courses are scored on and then painted with watercolours.
I thoroughly enjoyed that. Thank you

Thanks for this new video. Great to see a feature on the yard. It is so prominent yet gets no attention. Perhaps a video of the local pick up could be arranged. Main line are always good, but give a different perspective too. 👍👍👍
