Love the video and effect. Do you have a suggestion as to where to get the black optic fibre brush?
the brushes are from LPB think in america, i got mine from their uk distributor rigu
@@d.g.l.photography89 Thank you
Use milk in the tube and the drops are like drops of heaven🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for sharing you knowledge.

Do you have a ling for the light wand?
Stunning results - can you tell me where I can get one of these please. Cheers. Dave
Please can you tell me what the size of the nozzle in mm? I want tp replace the nozzle of my MIOPS with a brass one. I can find here in the Netherlands 1/4 NPT 6, 8 and 9 mm
What a great video, your guide to timings, particularly drop size and second drop delay was really helpful. Thank You.
thanks, but it should be only used really as a guide, see my other vid on better water drops for a more he;pful guide
Thanks, your second video was also helpful. I have two macro lenses, a 150mm prime and a 70mm prime but I was hoping to get a better depth of field by using a 200mm lens from a greater distance. What are your thoughts on that?@@d.g.l.photography89
Nice work, Darren
thanks
Concise and excellent! Watched it from beginning to the end, which happens seldom.
thanks 🙂
Best video so far about waterdrop photography, and I've watched many of them Learned a lot Thank you so much

Helpful video and love your resulting images. Great focus tip, thank you.

Well done, awesome picture. Is it several pictures to one? With HDR or?
It's a single picture with a little cloning out of stems
Hi Darren hoping you can help me..I have cleaned my valve and the water won't drop through any ideas on what me next step is? Thanks
if taken apart and cleaned, it possible you tightened up too much on the large side nut, i did that once, if still not working, possibly the battery needs replacing
@d.g.l.photography89 Hi Darren, I tightened the nut and the loosened it and still not working the light is on but maybe the battery is running out of power I will try a new one. Thanks for your reply
Why the White Spirit additives?
the white spirit, gives an even mix to the powder, little to no lumps when compared with mixing in water
Given that the action is frozen by the flash duration and that typical flash sync speeds are around 1/200 second, I'm curious as to why you use such long exposure times. I'm sure there is a reason but I'm just not cluing in to it.
The flash “sync” speed may be 1/200th of a second, but the flash duration is much, much shorter (as short as approximately 1/2000th second). You’re shooting in the dark so the long exposure time (shutter speed) is made mostly irrelevant by the short duration of the flash. The flash is doing all the work as there’s no ambient light. Did that help?
@@AndrewOvenden I do understand that the the effective exposure is the duration of the flash which is why I'm not understanding why one would use a shutter speed that is longer than the flash sync speed. I just rewatched the video a couple of times and don't see any reference to any shutter speeds so, unless the video has been edited between when I posted this question 3 months ago and now, I'm not sure why I even asked the question. But thanks for your reply!
having a long exposure in the dark, and not going with flash sync, simply because the hit rate of using flash sync was hit and miss, the triggers are not 100% accurate for firing purposes, but with a long exposure, that single moment of the flash sync is now irrelevant as long as the drops occure when the shutter is open
Thanks Flor the Video 👍😁
You’re welcome 😊
Absolutely amazing. Now I have to try this.
Thanks Mike, hope you had fun 😊
Where did you get the light brush?
in the uk i got mine from rigu, online seller
Gorgeous! How do you add the colours? You said it’s a filter but where is it?
the colour filter, is in this case a small round plastic coloured disc, which is on the end of the tourch, inside the universal connector
Merci ! génial Thank (i am french sorry for my language is verry bad !)

Hi Gino here from the Netherlands, Nice tutorial and i am also started with it some days ago. I like to order, but the black fibre wasn't available, so i wait till it's in stock.
Excellent tips and insights to getting better results. Thanks Darren

Great!
thanks
Terrific light painting work. Some awesome shots there. Might try say 3 balls or throw in a prism😊
Thanks Rob, i actually have used 3 balls in an image, if placed close together, you can see the other balls in the first ball, all light paited of course. I not got a good image with a prism yet, but i keep trying
thanks for some ideas, great pics. i just got my lens ball I can't wait to try some shots. nice video
Thanks
thanks for sharing, great pics and ideas.
Thanks Dale
hello where did you get you brushes from
i got mine from RIGU in the uk
I am looking to get one. Have you tried the Miops version? not sure which one should we buy in 2022? Thanks
I have the MIOPS and Ploto water droppers, for water drop only the Miops kit, but for other options the pluto trigger (bit more expensive) and water valve. Not too much difference between the two, although the MIOPS doesnt need batteries, the Pluto one still does
Hi bud how do you attach the water drop to the wood
i used mini clamps, think they are called speed clamps, 1 to hold the dropped and another to clam the side of the dropped onto the wood, or i guess g clamps can do the same thing
Really enjoyed your video. Apart from anything else, this is the first video I've seen using the Adaptalux, other than from the actual Adaptalux company itself!
thanks
Excellent... Very good tips. Thank you. 👍

Great video! Would you happen to know what size Lens ball that is?
Hi Bob, i used a 100mm glass ball in these videos
@@d.g.l.photography89 Thank You for the reply.
@@Bob71650 your welcome
Thank you. I will try it.
Any particular torches
I would not name any brand, i've used several different types over the last few years and are all pretty similar, but the one in the video is a single LED, powered by a single AA battery
Think I will go and get some daffs!
they brighten up the room and give you photo oportunities 😀
Amazing fine art creativity with light painting around the glass ball. But you hadn’t shown in room light how you had move your hand light around the ball. Hope in your next video tutorial. Thanks a lot Padmakar Gade
Thanks for your tips and tricks Darren, I’ll try them out.
Hope they work for you
That was really interesting and informative. Thanks for sharing.

so simple with great results
Not everything has to be complicated in life, Thanks Chris
Yes, I have those glass mirrors too. And a glass top table I haven't experimented with yet... Nice image, I suspect it is a little harder than one thinks, getting it to work as well as you have....
Thanks David, Once it set up, and focused, It easy to move the lights around. I would say the only hard part is getting the exposure right, it being so dark a picture and exposing for the light only is tricky, and moving the lights around, especially with the mirror, throws off settings quickly
@@d.g.l.photography89 Yes, it was that last sentence I was thinking of :-)
Top notch advice. Thanks for your help

Explained in a detailed and simplistic way. Thank you for your in sight into the setup and procedure .
Glad it was helpful
Belleza total!!!
Wonderful ideas and shots
Thanks Rob
This is a good demonstration with everything explained well. I see that you worked around the camera trigger situation by simply having a long exposure. I am trying to figure out how to cause the Pluto to trigger the camera and a wireless flash trigger at the same time. Any ideas are welcome.
i can not think of a way currently, apart from triggering the flashes through the camera, ie, pluto to fire the camera which fires the flashes through remotes
Excellent, I couldn't figure this out for the life of me. Now I am good to go to catch water droplets. I am using the Pluto laser to trigger the camera via the beam interrupt. Simple, great, thanks
It took me a while to figure it out, but its so simple when you just sit back and think about it. your welcome
thankyou

Thanks for the tutorial!!! It is great!!! I will try it
Have fun!
Great tutorials. I have just watched all of your videos. I would love to see more.
Thanks Sam, slowly getting a few more ideas sorted and recorded. but unfortunatly real life work gets in the way
I tried this and some of the lines are a little spotty. Any suggestions? I used a lower ISO but I would think that would smooth the lines out.
if the lines are dotted, it possible the "pulse" of the light, LED. i get the same from some of the toy wands i use. not sure there a fix apart from try a different light source
