Brinyte HL18 Flashlight and Headlamp!
I programmed the big button to be max power with strobe. I set the little button for 15 lumins at half press or 100 lumins at full press. I will probably use 15 lumins most of the time. If I use max power bad things are happening. I really like the side slide switch to turn off all options.
Hello! Which one is the best?
Hmm.. Let me guess mate.. You already have those 3v XHP70.3 HI and that 'urge' kicked in Cheers🔦😊
What’s the worst that could’ve happened with the battery? Could it have been tested with a protected one? 😅
Worst case, the battery might short and explode. It is probably more realistic that the driver would burn up and the circuit may fall apart before the cell gets a chance to explode. I posted a video last year where the driver started smoking and burnt itself due to the battery being inserted backwards. I tested reverse polarity protection with a protected cell at the start of this video, this just caused the protected cell to cut-out temporarily.
@@TorchHacker ah yes that’s right. You’re a braver man than me testing with the unprotected battery haha
hey brotha tim, hope you are well , i own a if23 light here if you know any guys in the u.s. here that would trade/swap/barter possibly , let m know or tell em to get ahold of me , thanks bro > tom !
Heya, there's a Buy/Sell/Trade thread on r/flashlight here: www.reddit.com/r/flashlight/comments/1ftf7y8/bst_october_2024_buy_sell_trade_thread/
Were you able to fix it? My flashlight (24pro) fell 1 meter today and same problem (
I haven't really fixed it. I smashed the glass on the sidelight. I think there might be a design flaw or connectivity issue where the Ground side of a battery is not making contact with the Ground terminal of the Driver. The connection for Ground appears to go via the tail spring, aluminum case, up toward the head, through the MCPCB, and back into the driver.
@@TorchHacker Yes, you're right, this, a design flaw. There was a bad contact of the LED pad with the housing, the problem was in the fastening of one screw, tinned the copper pad around the screw hole and the flashlight worked. But when reassembled, the lens presses on the LED and the pad comes loose, works, but shock/shock due to the one way locking(screw head) can break the contact. And heating the glass was very difficult, ended up pouring alcohol on it and removing it))
molicel P50b or P45b for this flashlight?
I haven't used the P50B. The P45B is good.
Can u use the strobe with one hand.?
Yes. The bigger Customizable button can be fully pressed to use Strobe. But you need to configure the button to be Strobe. By default it is LUMIN SHIELD mode (brightest). To configure it to be Strobe, you simply fully press the Customizable button and then press the Power button. The same process can be done to switch back to LUMIN SHIELD.
@@TorchHackerAfter you set the big button to be strobe, it is the default for that button until you change it. I have the small button set to 15 lumins at half press (momentary) and 100 lumins at full click lock press.
Bought one
I'm in doubt between iF30 and mateminco Mt70 mini S, can you help me choose between them?

Hi Tim! I am seriously thinking about buying a Nitecore NU27. But I'm concerned about its operating time from the built-in battery. In your opinion, is it possible to use additional batteries with it ("Nitecore Carbon Battery™ 6K Kit" or "Power Bank Nitecore 18650 Extension Battery Case") ?
@@sergii_rodin I'll measure the height of the NU27 headband and check to see if it can run off an external battery. I posted some runtime graphs on my blog.
@@sergii_rodin The height of the headband can gap is about 25.6mm. I was able to power it directly off a USB-C power supply.
@TorchHacker Thanks for the answer, my friend! And what external power supply did you test? I was a little worried that the power supply from Nitecore has a type-C with a hook (for NU40, NU43, NU50), but the NU27 does not have a hook for attachment ( And also the width of the head-band 32mm vs 26mm
@@sergii_rodin I used a USB-A to USB-C cable with a straight plug. The USB-A end was connected to a USB-C QC port in a PinePower Desktop power supply.
@@sergii_rodin The PinePower Desktop supply showed a current being drawn while using the headlamp on Turbo.
Im terrified the amount of power and voltage in stuff like this
I read that it doesn’t charge 1.5v Li-ion batteries or that they over heat, have you ran into this issue by any chance?
I don't think it supports 1.5V Li-ion. It doesn't detect the cell when I insert it. It can charge 3.7V Li-ion (4.2V full). I haven't had any heat issues.
@@TorchHacker Thank you!
Do 21700 fit?
No, just AAA/AA/10440/14500 sized cells. The C4 Evo supports some 21700 but it's still better suited to AAA/AA. XTAR VC8S/VC4SL, Vapcell S4+ are some good alternatives that fit 21700.
I really would love for such a product to report the status of the batteries over Zigbee or WiFi.
Beautiful tool
Just gotten mine few days ago. Love how bright it gets under turbo but really, for most of the time, it is a 1200 lumens torch light. For the size of it, the brightness is really impressive. My complaints for this are that the battery is not changeable and the surface scratches too easily.
That's the best part the scratches give character
It's an extremely anti safety feature, its probably endorsed by the WEF puppets
How long to take full charge?
Greetings from Ukraine! I appreciate the video and the detailed review on your website. You have done a great job. Thank you very much.
Wow, that's a cool charger! I've never seen one like this before, looks great!
Can you set it to charge LiIon to only 80%?
I can't see any storage option. The user manual mentions the storage voltages but there does not appear to be a storage mode. There is Charge, Discharge, Activation, Analysis. The C4 Evo might be better for that use case.
I was looking into rechargeables for a little bit a few years ago but haven't seen anything like this yet. Those are cool would you recommend something like this for rc cars and whats there potential lifetime. I have a few larger batterys for my rc 1/10 scales so im used to degrigation but kinda wanna know if id swap all my double AAs or just my regular use ones. 😂
I'm not sure what the battery lifetime would be in RC cars. The N16 supports 1.2V NiMH AA/AAA, 3.7V Li-ion 14500/10440 (4.2V full). It has these functions: Charge, Discharge, Activation, Analysis (capacity). The charge and discharge current can be set (you might get a slightly longer battery life in terms of recharging by using a lower charge current).
@@TorchHacker awesome thanks for the numbers it will help with calculating a bit out im looking at two different styles of use so i really like the informative approach regardless so this really does help thank you
This really helps! Looking forward to a UT27 review/comparison!
Hey mate what did it cost in AUD ?
I think it's about AU$179 but there might be a sale. It has just been launched.
@@TorchHacker yeah looks great man!
Thank you!! I've been trying to figure this out and your solution worked!!
Hi, between rechargeable AA Energizer and Eneloop pro, which one do you prefer?
@@loner1512 I actually prefer LADDA AA 2450mAh from IKEA. They're almost the same (same factory?) as the eneloop pro AA.
I have one .. i got it for the ability to power it from dc from an ecoflow
Is that a tripod it's on ?
It's being held by a SmallRig clamp and arm.
@@TorchHacker Nice😎🔦
Cool....I'm definitely checking it out
No replaceable battery, no deal
thatsa hardcore looking torch
A strike bezel would be awesome 😂
It's hitting 8,000 lumens momentarily 😁
does the side switch still work with two 21700? I just looked into it... two nitecore 21700s or two fenix 21700s will also work, but as the maker of the video said, the tail switch won't work if you don't use the included battery pack
The side switch will work with two 21700 cells. You might need some spacers if the cells are flat top so that they can connect properly. The tail switch will not work because the signal for the tail switch goes via the Acebeam battery pack.
UPDATE: There's a potential safety issue when disconnecting the power supply while charging at 5A. The charger may break and start smoking.
Thanks for the upclose view and the review also.
As soon he said "Micro-USB" i was out... c'mon.. really? I do not even have micro usb cables...
I've still got a bunch of micro USB cables for CB radios and gadgets 😛
@@TorchHacker but, it´s 2024... Even USB-C is 7 or 8 years old now... just.. why?! But well, Logitech is as ridicoulus as this and keeps building Keyboards with MicroUSB (G915) ...

Man i miss my one that I sold with my NS73V2 😢. Think I'm going to have to buy another one! On a side note do you know where I can get a light that has SFN55.3 and rechargeable too so built in USB? Thanks
Amazing how far we got in 10 years, like a lightsaber
Underrated video ong
😂What should I say😂I prefer the silver one.
Love your videos. Keep up the great work! If you had to choose between this and the nlightd L2, which would you choose? Which has a "cleaner" beam (whiter, I guess). Thank you in advance!
@@StrikingTill It's a hard choice. The beams are almost the same. I like the design and driver of the Bow more. My only gripe with the Bow is that High steps down quickly and I haven't figured out how to take the LEP module out.The L2 is fussy when it comes to 14500 batteries but it has a nice design too. I'd probably choose L2 in a different metal (copper etc).
I'll post a comparison
@TorchHacker I noticed that as well; reading your review. That's the only downside I see compared to the L2 . It can literally hold 4x the lumens @ 10 minutes. I wish the Bow had come in at least aluminum. It would be an instant buy. An aluminum Bow would probably have higher sustained lumens as well compared to these titanium versions. Thanks for you time. Looking forward to the comparison 👌🏼.
nice
20% off with code BowNN timmcmahon.com.au/posts/vastlite-bow/
They really aren't bad metres in construction and quality for their price they could take the market by storm if they just bothered to use slightly better internals to give decent accuracy lol. Not the worst though for sure.
A few slight adjustments could improve the speed 🙂
Why did you choose the frosted lens version? Any specific reason why? Thanks
I prefer the floody beam caused by the frosted lens. It allows me to work on stuff close up (e.g. clean a car at night) without creating an intense hot spot.
@@TorchHacker Ahh i see. How about in outdoor situations? Is it still using as a walking light or is the beam too diffused for that purpose
@@wesleysong1987 It's ok on a high mode for walking outdoors. If it's really dark then a medium mode is ok when walking slowly.
@@wesleysong1987 I just used it earlier this evening while taking beamshot photos of a LEP torch being released tomorrow.
@@TorchHacker what’s the sustained output?
A 100 watt LEP is insane.
