Slightly Reckless RPGs | Sacha Lightfoot in Conversation with Jordan Sorcery
How mike feels about diablo 1/2 being so different to D3 is how i felt and it really put me off the diablo franchise. Its so cool having an artist put into words what i couldnt explain.
"I failed into this career." Classic.
Terrific interview, Jordan.

A fun chat, glad the Kickstarter is doing well.👍
What a lovely chap to be behind such a horrific game! I'm very much looking forward to Trench Crusade and would 100% be here for more content about the game.
Great to interview Mike Franchina Jordan ! Excellent choice and very timely for Trench Crusade. The game is a proper renaissance of the golden era of GW :)
Great interview!
Great interview!
Gorkamorka is a fantastic game that I believe GW dropped for a number of reasons, they failed to sell their stock well and now most importantly GW doesn’t want its customers to be kit bashing miniatures because they not only want to sell their products but they also want to control the physical size that fulfills their IP and all that nonsense… What a brilliant interview with a true artist 🧑🎨 nice work Jordan 🫡 I liked Mike more until he said that the US version of The Ring was better than the Japanese one 😮
Main reason is money as always, the translation first dips and left over stocks in foreign language left a huge mark. So much that they are still fearing over producing and fill their inventory needlessly. I dont think the kitbashing was ever an issue, Gorkamorka was made in a very short time and the kitbash encouragement was a patch for the issue of not having enough models to produce for gorkamorka.
Thank you for this awesome interview Jordan! I kitbashed my Amalgam for my Trench Crusade Black Grail Army while watching this :)
Cool guy His Trench Crusade illustrations are amazing (The Chorister and the War Prophet are especially brilliant) Very good to hear the Kickstarter was so successful!
2nd Peepeepoopoo
Trench Crusade looks like an interesting IP and Mike was a great and entertaining guest. I wish him all the best.
First!! I’m a backer for this project at the moment and I am so excited for this project and IP and I like so many others are so excited for the future! Thanks for doing this interview Jordan
There were rules printed in one of the old White Dwarf's for doing spacehulk with Imperial Guard. And eldar, orks & chaos.. they were put in to one of the spacehulk compendiums i think (yellow hardback cover if my aging memory serves me correctly)
Nice! We used to play warcry a plenty. I think MIller nailed the "army perspective" in it. Towards the end of its lifecycle, I think they published too much too quickly so that as a teenager with very low budget, it was just impossible too keep up.
You have to be kidding. The Konrad Trilogy rules.
Very interesting, I enjoy the business side of these discussion
Marc Gascoigne is fantastic: a very clever, enthusiastic guy. I wonder how different GW and the Warhammer worlds would have been if he’d stayed on during those early days… Dark Future in particular!
I love the Thin Man movies!!! I have been leaving posts on as many Aconyte posts as possible asking for more Shin books, and even sent them a direct message about it!!!! I can't wait to read about Shin and Konomi adjusting to married life while having to solve everyone else's problems!!! I can really see them as a Nick and Nora couple!!!
Love the show Jordan. I love fighting fantasy! what I don't like is Graham Bottley taking credit for something he hasn't done. GB is the (now) retired leader of a particular nasty group of internet trolls called the mutton crew. Over the last four years he has harassed and abused many internet users. He has ruined livelihoods, destroyed relationships and on a daily basis has propagated misinformation across the internet.
Skavenslayer is my preferred Gotrek & Felix novel (maybe Kinslayer is close, but nope).
I’m slowly working my way through them!
Great chat!
"wasted on Orfeo's nonsense" brilliant quote. Great review guys. It does seem that from a fantasy perspective that the quality was getting worse. I was just relieved that a Brian Craig book about Slaanesh did not go in the direction I though it would!
Awesome interview. Although I had my reservations, SFG seems to be doing an amazing job as the custodians of Warmachine
Josh is a great author and a guest on your show. Thanks, Jordan.
Hmmm i really liked Godtear although getting the game was a bit of a pain and the expansions had a lot of void space meaning they take up loads of space. Nothing wrong with the game mechanics.
Such a great interview. Warmachine is indeed a totemic part of the tabletop scene so it will be interesting to see what they do about it.
I just came back to Warmachine after years away and nice to see it seems to be in good hands.
23:44 I remember that comic strip! It was great!
I’ve been here for more than 20 minutes and I still haven’t eaten my sweet so I feel cheated…😮😢
Wonderful hearing about the greatest game ever Blood Bowl which doesn’t get enough attention Jordan but this is not as alarming as the lack of packing that looks like you have done so far…
What a delightful chap. Excellent interview!
Anyone keeping fighting fantasy alive, gets my vote! Great chat!
Interesting and fun conversation!
So if the banks can create money out of thin air, why do we even pay taxes? One of lifes big mysteries ... or not
By the sound of it the Storm Warriors make me think of the country song Ghost Riders In The Sky for whatever reason. Great talk, guys, probably far more entertaining than the book itself would have been!
Very enjoyable chat 👍
Kingston is right next to my home town, I would have loved to know more about this "Game Centre" way before my time and totally unknown to me. There is a GW shop there now, not sure how old it is.
The more I look into this game, the more I'm liking it. Really good interview. You can hear Tom's passion come through.
Very interesting, very entertaining. A pleasure to watch!
I'm glad at least the Senduiuiel connection was mentioned. There is a lot that was confusing and disappointing about this book but I agree with Jordan, there are ingredients within it that I really liked, but the whole Orfeo device just flamed out into nothing. When we first read Zaragoz and I heard your excitement about what we might learn about Orfeo my heart broke a little because I knew what was in store, having read them all in one go. I'm really curious about that unpublished Nichola Griffith novella. When I realized there was a connection between the two stories I got excited and hopeful but it seems those threads were ultimately left without any further elaboration.
Not just a fine interview, but a fascinating and engaging walk through a portion of history. Peter was an incredible guest and I'd love to hear more of his stories. As always, thanks for the work you're doing, Jordan!
I always liked this one; probably because I first read it back when the Doors movie had just been released, so I associate it with Riders on the Storm. Although I was kind of confused when I got the old Skeleton Army box set, where the horsemen were given a 'Storm Riders' banner. In terms of the story being 'about' Orfeo, I kind of took it as a fable- it never really happened exactly as described, perhaps not even in Albion, and Tristan was Orfeo- names changed to protect the innocent etc.
Ironically that unpublished anthology had a Brian Craig story called Who Mourns the Necromancer? That got republished in Inferno that was actually one of Craig’s best stories.
Also, I think we’re missing the genius here. The author, authio, orfeo, knows that when he finally tells the story that we/his captor want, that is his own story, it will be the end for him. So he stalls with other stories that might be related by prove unrelated.
Time for an old world stormcast army. Have to carry around this book at all times though lol
Eternal ‘Storm’ knights created when particularly skilled warriors are slain? Sigmar is Slaanesh confirmed.
Another really interesting interview, plus confirmation my baby boy really likes your content, races over and sits enraptured for a bit every time he hears your voice, a feat so far only equalled by Mickey mouse! :D (And i know which one i prefer!)
