How to get a US visa for your Thai girlfriend, boyfriend, or spouse in 2024
I have only found out about this visa today, it's very difficult to complete the form on my phone, so know i have to visit my travel agent who can apply for the visa for a charge of £85, the visa is not free it costs £30. I have only 8 days left till my departure. This is annoying and stressful. Thanks for the video
I am a British citizen, in 4 years I plan to retire to thialand, in the mean time I would like my girlfriend to come to England so we can be together. Which visa route should I take ?
Thailand use to be a nice country , but the last two year every thing want crazy price high in everything use to spend 1000$ now is over 2000$ and the weather very hot year around 90-110 degree i move to laos
Can you do the 90 days and then leave Thailand and come back and get another 60 days?
I am working from home for a US company? I can work in anywhere in the world and receive US paycheck. Am I qualified for this DTV visa? I heard that a letter from the employer is needed. I assume the content of the letter will indicate I am still in their payroll, years of employment, current title and salary. Is it good enough? Does the letter need to indicate the company allows me to work anywhere in the world?
Yes, the good news is you do qualify for the DTV visa. And you correctly note what you’ll need from your employer. You will also need to show $16,000 in a bank account to meet the financial requirement. You may also want to consider the LTR remote working visa if you are interested in a tax advantaged program. This applies to folks working for a public company or realizing $50M per year. Let us know if we can be of further assistance.
@@baanthaiimmigrationsolutions $16000 in a bank account. Does it have to be Thailand bank? I am sure my HR can provide employment letter about my active employment status, years in service, current title and salary. But, HR will not indicate remote work status as they do not want to "promise" working from home forever. Will it be alright? I am not familiar with the tax advantage program. Can you explain? My company is a global corporation with more than $50M per year. But it is not a public company (have not and no plan to do IPO.)
@@vickeybird6665 Your company letter should be fine as long as it says that they are permitting you to work remotely. It does not need to specify a time frame. The money in the account can be a US bank account. Overseas and Thai accounts are both accepted.

Bank accounts?
You can't open bank account with DTV Visa
Leaving for Thailand for 3 months at the end of November. Sounds like it will go into effect while I'm already there. ...but, while there, will be making a brief side trip to Indonesia -- will this be required for RETURNING to Thailand?
A few months ago, I (Jeff Conner) signed up with 'BTI' to handle the immigration of my wife, son, and myself to Thailand in late 2025; so far, I have been very impressed with everyone at your firm and look forward to the finalization over the coming year and the peace of mind knowing I did my due diligence in choosing you is incomparable. Cheers to you all!
If they just asked for information that I can type in that would work, but if I have to send in images of my photo and passport forget it. I can't get that stuff to work on my phone and I don't own a computer. I'll be spending my money in another country!
hello, if we have kids under the age of 20 are they qualified or they are included in our application process or we have to file separately for them?
Hello! If your children are under the age of 20, you can include them as dependents by filing a dependent DTV application for each child. You’ll need to provide proof that you are their parent as part of the application process.
Buy this video is flawed
Let’s wait until the first person goes 180 days…….and see if immigration extends them…they have not commented as if yet
Will this be mandatory in December of 2024? I'm flying there mid December? Or is this optional?
immerse yourself in Thai culture = Soi 6
I use to think the Thailand Privilege Visa was the best option until I researched the Long Term Residence Visa (LTR) all the same privileges minus an airport entourage but still easy pass option. The LTR gives two five year visas without 90 day reporting which is now 1 year reporting. Same bank account/driver’s license options. No 20K plus requirement just a proven income level dependent on which of the six LTRs you get.
NO its not . Pretty much usless. 0 tax benifits so please enlighten me on what is the Point???
I want to live there 😭 but idk how can i do it. 🥲 And I want to study at university there
Hi do I need a visa for Thailand for a month with a view to retiring there
I just booked my flight for 60 days, Travelling out next month from the United Kingdom , so when I get to Bangkok airport, only thing I need to show at immigration is my Passport, or is there any other documents required ? 🤔 Thanks
when i get the visa does the 5 years start date begin when i get the approval email, or when i enter and get that very first stamp?
Very helpful! Thank you.
Great video, thank you.

There are many criteria to consider. Feel free to contact our professional team at hello@btisolutions.co for guidance. We’d be happy to help you find the best option.
I am due to visit the UK next year and am on an O/A Visa retirement visia and will not be required to complete an Eta However you just know when you check in at the airport to return you will be told no approved ETA QR code no boarding pass, you can argues as much as your want that you are visia, exempt it will fall on deaf ears as most check in staff will be clueless and just adopt a blanket policy of no QR code no boarding pass
1:04 this dude is actually simping for more bureaucracy. Hope you have trouble looking yourself in the mirror.
So what happens to those with a visa, such as a DTV or TR1 (multiple-entry 6-month tourist visa). Are these people not required to apply for an ETA because they already hold a valid visa? What worries me most is how this will be communicated to the airlines as it may create confusion and airlines tend to overdo controls and restrictions because if someone lands in Thailand without the proper authorization to come into the country, the airline is responsible to fly that passenger back out of the country at their cost...
What countries in Asia can USA residents apply for the dtv visa? I am traveling in japan now and they said i have to be a resident in japan to apply. Where can i go to get a visa besides going all the way back to the usa. thanks.
Indonesia seems to be the easiest, Jakarta
I live in Tokyo and only permanent foreign residents can apply. Taipei, Jakarta are goof alternatives.
Very useful ! Thank you so much 😊
Will Thai retirement visa holders still need to apply for the new ETA when returning to Thailand after an overseas trip?
Based on the information we have, the ETA requirement applies only to those on a Tourist Visa. If you're holding a Retirement Visa, you won’t need to apply for the ETA when returning to Thailand after an overseas trip.
Also I have the visa stamped in my passport- I would like to know if there is a Card available that I can get upon arrival in Thailand??
No
I got mine DTV Visa for digital nomad /remote worker but it’s written “ Employment Prohibited “ it’s mean I can’t work in Thailand or got employed in Thailand??
Well thats Exactly what it says, Right? All in all it’s still a longterm Tourist Visa, so you definitely won’t be able to to get employed with the DTV
I got mine DTV Visa for digital nomad /remote worker but it’s written “ Employment Prohibited “ it’s mean I can’t work in Thailand or got employed in Thailand??
Correct, with the DTV Visa, you cannot work for a Thai employer or be employed in Thailand. If you wish to work locally, you would need to obtain a work permit.
Hi. I have a full-time faculty position at a university in China. If I start working as a Visiting Researcher/Academic Fellow at a university in Thailand, can I be eligible for the DTV program? I can provide the letter of joining from Thai University. Need your urgent guidance in this matter. Thank you
Just yesterday completed my ETA for Taiwan, response and confirmation returned 2 minutes later, Just hope Thailand can do the same.
You have my sympathy. I do everything on-line and computers have made my life much easier than no computer. HOWEVER, I have had direct experience of ETAs and these do not work as well as it seems. For example, some are very fussy about the matching of info (eg addresses not recognised) and send back endless error messages. You can be lucky and complete the process quickly but not always. I guess the software will improve but be prepared for a couple of frustrating hours. And don’t be fooled. These systems are introduced to save time and money for the organisation, not the customer.
This is a bit confusing since it’s asking for proof of residency of the country that you are applying from - well as a USA citizen that’s traveling around Asia what proof would I provide when renting an airbnb in Vietnam when applying for this visa ?
I am coming for holidays i am not going to do any electronic visa shenanigans .... buy buy Thailand , there are better places to go where i am not being digitally tracked .
Checkout Cambodia. There are some gorgeous girls over there and it's a bit cheaper to live there.
He says no fee.......the website says $82.......
As others have noted, this will end the continuous practice of making border runs. This will provide a record of your travel into Thailand and force you to get a different form of Visa to live in Thailand long term instead of a Visa on Arrival tourist visa. It will be curious to see exactly what limits to visiting Thailand that the government imposes with this process. Will they limit the Visa on arrival to 2 times per year, 3 times, 4 times, or just once ?
So, Visa exempt countries will essentially have to apply for a Visa. Any info on how far ahead you'll be able to apply would be very helpful.
What I dislike is having to buy an air ticket before you get the otherization to travel ...
All it is doing is replacing the paper cards we use to fill out. The world governments want everything digital so they can control and check everything. The old card system is just being replaced by a digital version. All countries will eventually do this.
I was trying to talk about this on Reddit and the admin said it was not true and banned me lol I was just asking questions and getting clarification. Appreciate the information I go in February for a few days
So if im staying for 14 days i need to apply for this visa?
Yes
Sounds stupid
There is no reason anymore for an exempt visa now that the ETA will be needed before you get on the plane. To me this is a round about way of requiring a visa to enter Thailand. So I call the ETA a visa. I am planning my 11th trip back to Thailand in October of this year. And because of all this online requirements coming up, this will probably be my last trip to Thailand. I don't have a smartphone and I'm not computer savvy. I think Thailand wants to cut back on tourist coming into the country. And they will start with us old guys first that are not a computer literate. And using the Thai E visa website with my daughter during Covid, we could never get that website to accept what we put down. That site is a disaster in my opinion,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
