    Absolutely GREAT shirt! Leftism/Socialism/Demoncrats have invaded and infested every area of life. And they're LOUD about it. Our side is far too quiet, so I make it a point to wear an Anti-Left message whatever I'm doing. Stay LOUD!

    IS this the MODEL G5979 12" X 35‐1/2" SWIVEL HEAD WOOD LATHE. that your working on . nice project had my lathe for a month now fun to use. turning is like a drug get hooked on it. drive the back roads with a chain saw after a storm, looking for limps or trees down to saw up. better for you than meth. lol

    • @patriotwoodturning
      @patriotwoodturning 4 месяца назад

      You are absolutely correct on its better than any drug. I gotta look at the tag but I do know it's 12" × 35-1/2". It's the big one that harbor freight carries

    put some of your finish on before you do the CA and then the CA does it stain the wood Quite so bad. This is something I learned through other wood turners that I've been out of a lot longer than I have. So I'm just passing it on. The bowl turned out very nice -F.O.G. (found on ground) wood has the best price on it. Sometimes is some of the prettiest wood you can find. Thanks for sharing.

      I agree. It does tend to have interesting character. Thanks for the info. I've never heard about that tactic. Makes sense

    It turned out great! I started to use an epoxy denatured alcohol mix to toughen up the wood. Just a little epoxy and add denatured alcohol until it is a thin syrup. It soaks into the wood and the alcohol dries up leaving the epoxy. I found that CA glue will burn off with really dry wood. Just another tool for the tool box.

    • @crocuscreekwoodworks
      @crocuscreekwoodworks 6 месяцев назад

    Looks like a Juniper root. Depending on where you are in the country some cedar species also have the red/orange tones as well. Either way beautiful. Just started turning some cedar from the neighbor myself. I would say juniper and cedar are my favorite to turn. I also have similar issues wit the stringy bits when coming across the grain on cedar/juniper as you pointed out.
