Ryan Jones Drone Channel
США
Добавлен 8 янв 2016
Welcome to Ryan Jones' Drone Videos Channel. I have a Holy Stone HS 220 drone (see amzn.to/2vGeFKP (affiliate) if you are curious about those kinds of drones) and will be posting my drone videos here. Note that I am currently a learner at flying drones and it will be a while before I have fully mastered the skill. May eventually move onto a more advanced drone someday (like the phantom drones), but for now, I will be working with a Holy Stone 220 drone. It is a nice little beginner drone and the controller is shaped like an Xbox One controller. For now, I will be using my backyard while I learn the basics (it is just east of Snohomish in the Dutch Hill area and I have a big backyard, with plenty of space to fly the drone). Note that kids are not my intended audience on this channel (sure some kids might like drones, but they probably appeal more to an older audience). Will be flying a drone more as a hobby for now, hence no adsense ads.
Copeland Area Idaho First Visit Plus photos of the Bonners Ferry area
Here is the other drone flight i did on Wednesday: flying along the Kootenay River in northern Idaho. Canadian border is about 12 miles north west of there. Wasn't actually planning to visit Canada that day but the scenery does seem to change as you get closer to the border. Also got photos of the Bonners Ferry area as well via cellphone.

On We this last week, I drove from Spokane Valley to the Bonners Ferry area in Idaho. Along the way, I stopped at the lakefront park in Sand Point and got a drone flight along Pend Oreille. It is a huge lake (similar to Lake Couer d Alene) and stretches all the way to the Athol area to the south Montana to the east, and Priest river to the west. Btw I would have stayed longer and gotten more ph...
Sprague Lake Washington Dji Mini 2 First Visit

I have been wanting to do a drone flight at Sprague Lake for a while there. It is the big desert lake interstate 90 goes by between Ritzville and Spokane and marks the beginning of the end of the steps and high desert scenery as 90 gets closer to Spokane. Eventually the terrain changes to coniferous forests and mountains by the time 90 reaches the Couer d Alene area. Flew from the wdfw boat lau...

managed to do a drone flight once again in the Cold Springs area in Nevada. flew from the usual spot though I did change things up a bit and checked out the hills near where my relative lives. also got soke views of the lake from a distance. one word of caution in that area: the Cold Springs area is growing and there are people that will watch you when flying in the area, even in the blm area. ...

here is my latest drone video. visited Bayview and Farragut State Park in Idaho (Athol area). flew from the FRIA area in the north side of the park area. unlike Washington State parks where you need a special permit to fly, Idaho state parks are different (more like the Oregon state parks) where the rules seem to vary by park. some allow them, some don't. Farragut State park has a model aircraf...

BTW I do not recommend flying in the North Cascades as most of that area is national park property (no drone zones). Nice thing about Sprague Lake is that it is out on the hlgh desert (technically it is stepe there, but definitely has a high desert feel there) and is well out side of any national parks or wilderness areas. There is a wdfw boat launch area along the south side of the lake, however last I checked, there are no blanket bans on drones in wdfw areas other than the national wildlife refuge areas (like the one near Cheney) as far as I can tell. Btw on the north cascades, I do believe there are some places where can get drone views of them from a distance where you are well outside of the National Park boundaries. For example, between Rockport and Marble mount, there is a pull out off of highway 20 along the river that can make for a good vantage point, especially on a clear day. Also on highway 530 between Darrington and Rockport, I think there are some boat launch areas along the Stillaguamish river where you can get.some cool drone views.. wouldn't be surprised if the Winthrop area has some good vantage points (can't fly at Pearygain Lake State park without a permit), but there might be other places along there that could probably work in that area as well.
Sprague Lake is the big desert lake of of interstate 90 between Ritzville and the Spokane and Cheney area. It is out in the high desert area there. East of Sprague, the scenery starts to change from high desert to wooded area along 90 as it heads towards Spokane. On a side note, I have been to Keechelus lake near Snoqualmie Pass on 2 different occasions when I was still living in Snohomish (flew from the boat launch area there too). Though I do live in the Spokane area now, so I probably won't be going to the cascades as much as I used to (longer drive from Spokane Valley than from Snohomish). Though I did do a flight near North Bend a few.weeks ago while visiting the Seattle area. Most flights will be in eastern WA and Northern idaho going forwardThough. Will probably revisit Sprague Lake again sometime (probably next year sometime at the earliest).
Where is this lake in Washington state? I was stationed in Sedro Woolley,, WA. At North Cascade National Park.
looks like alot of building there
Hey Adm thrawn may I suggest a night time drone flight
Another nice video, Ryan!
nice. new subscriber.
Yeah the lake in the distance is White Lale. It is the dried up lake near the 395 freeway. Was able to get some drone footage of the lake last year (flew from a pull out last year). However I wish I coupd do another drone flight in thst area, but I am staying at the Lake Tahoe area until Thursday (rode down therr with my parents yesterday) and will be flying back to Spokane on Thursday (going back to work at Walmart on Friday), so I probably wont Be able to this go around. May see about doing a drone flight or 2 along Lake tahoe at some point this week. South Lake Tahoe is crowded, so the north shore of the lake migjt be better where itnis less developed and there are less people around. But we shall see. Though I would consider scouting out new places to fly from on future trips, especially as more houses go in there. Only limitation I have is that I don't have my own car with me, so I am limited on where I can go on these trips. Otherwise I would see about getting more drone flights. The area around Hallelujah Junction migjt be worth scouting out too. Can't fly at the wildlife areas in California without a special permit, but there migjt be other places that could work. Btw if anyone else here is from Nevada or California, they could see about getting more drone footage in the Cold Springs and Bordertown areas.
Whoa! I've got to have some trees! I can see a lake in the background. Can you get some shots of that? I'm curious 🤔 Another excellent job of drone flying!
Very good drone footage please 🙏 add me 👍👍👍👍👍
Beautiful drone footage please 🙏 add me 👍👍👍👍👍
More beautiful drone video, Ryan. Makes me want to fish every one of those lakes!
BTW I have since moved to Spokane Valley (summer 2023). Will likely. E a while before I can visit San Juan Island once again. Working full tome at Walmart now tok. Woupd likely have to be a 3 day trip to the island and back from Spokane Valley. Probably won't be this year, but perhaps on another year
I think you need to try fishing those lakes!
Beautiful view around
👍 #1 Nice drone footage 😊
bonjour. that is super drone. 🤝
Nice flying
Nice flight and beautiful views
Cool. Any big restrictions in Idaho you have found finding places to fly?
Wildlife management areas, can't take off or land at those places in idaho. Also state parks seem to be similar to the ones in Oregon where rules vary by park. Interestingly there are no wilderness areas where I was either. Near couer d alene is class e airspace, so you may need to do a LAANC before flying depending in where you are flying from. Also, can fly drones for the purpose of hunting either. Though I am only a hobbyist drone pilot and not a hunter type.
Also, the only county I am aware of with county park restrictions is canyon county. However, that is down near Boise and I probably won't be going to that part of idaho most of the time (long drive from Spokane Valley anyways). Also in Spokane Valley, city owned parks don't allow take off or landing of the drones in at least most of their parks. Though one park I am curious about os the rc park along sullivan
Very good drone video please 🙏 add me 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏
Realy nice friend video footage😍

Great video, Ryan! What is the range of your drone?
Subbed! Avata user from Seattle
Great job, Ryan! Your video reminds me of when Linda and I rode our bikes around the lake. We were visiting a friend (His Appalachian Trail name is Bigfoot) who lives very close to that lake. Thank you for the great video!
Wow 😊
Lovely footage 👌
Yeah it was me first getting my feet wet when it comes to drones. Was self taught. Fast forward to 2023, I have a much better and more powerful drone now (dji mini 2). It is no high end drone, but it is definitely an upgrade from both the Holy Stone 220 and the 720 drones (along with the mavic mini).
Another thing: it was tempting to bring my drone with me when going to animal ark. However I am sure you would need permission from the zoo owners before flying (not sure what the rules are on drones there). Elsewhere, I am sure there are some areas out in the desert there where I probably can get away with flying at, however Reno nevada is a less familiar area for me, so I am not going to know all of the places where you can fly at and what doesn't work. Did manage to get a few drone flights though, especially in the cold springs area. Also sierra nevadas in California too. I didn't have my own car with me, so i was limited to where my parents went along with Linda. Pyramid Lake was tempting, but nobody else wanted to go there, plus it does appear that the lake is in the Palute Indian reservation and drone flying there is frowned upon by the locals there. Apparently some rangers will stop you when flying there too (probably need a special permit to fly there among other things at the lake). Probably easier driving around Pyramid Lake and taking photos with your camera phone and sharing the photos later after leaving the reservation. I am sure that flying over Pyramid Lake can be done, but would require some careful planning and timing. Would have to be discreet and keep flights short to avoid attracting attention to yourself (either that or finding a good vantage point where you are not in the indian reservation area and get views that way. Plus now with remote id in effect, you would have to watch over your shoulders when flying there), though sometimes it can be said that it is easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission for things. I am sure there are areas along Pyramid Lake where you probably can get away with flying drones at, but I just don't know where. Washoe Lake was tempting too, but at least parts of it is in Nevada State Parks property and per nevada state park laws, you can't legally take off or land in the Nevada State parks without a special permit. Would have to scout out areas there that are not considered state park property.
for those leaving dislikes, remember that I don't live in Nevada nor work for Animal Ark. If you don't like seeing animals in captivity like at zoos and wildlife parks, nobody is forcing you to watch these videos. Zoos and wildlife parks have been around in America for a long time and are probably not going to be going away anytime soon. If you are the type that hates zoos or wildlife parks, that is on you and your real quarrel is with the zoo and wildlife park owners (not visitors or tourists like myself). I don't normally visit the Reno area in Nevada, but it was worth checking out. Sure it is a desert environment, but I am sure that zoo keepers make sure the animals are cared for and well fed (weather wasn't incredibly warm that day either was on the chilly side instead). Note that it is not my place to try and free the animals there or have them released into the wild. If people have complaints about the well being of the animals, they are welcome to reach out to the Animal ark management directly on that one (can find the phone number or email address at their website, same goes for other zoos and wildlife parks). Didn't actually go there to try and free the animals anyways (taking videos and pictures of them instead). People are welcome to go through the legal channels if they really want the animals freed, but that It is a matter that can only be settled between those who want the animals freed and the Zoo Keepers and management themselves. Plus Animal Ark management has the final say on whether animals get released back into the wild or not. I have no say on that matter what so ever. Just enjoy seeing animals you don't normally see everyday. After all, when was the last time you seen say a bear, tiger or wolf in the wild? Also not every day you see foxes in the wild like the silver and gray foxes I saw at the wildlife park. Normally foxes are very elusive creatures and it is not every day you see them in the wild (usually most active at night when we are sleeping and plus they usually run away as soon as they notice you or at least keep their distances), unless if you live in an area where foxes are common to see (like on San Juan Island).
you should so a drone of all the Contruction in post falls
Superb! ❤❤
Nice flight
This is a beautiful area. Nice video, thank you for sharing.
Great views!
Amazing scenery and great footage! I subscribed to see more Videos made by you. Dji Mini 2 is an awesome little drone. I own one myself too and create cinematic Videos. Keep it up bro! 👌🏽 Nice flight
Ryan, Beautiful shots, Thank you for sharing, I liked and Subscribed to your channel. What golf course is that?
From where did you take off exactly?
I launched from where one of the boat ramps were. Nice little sot to fly from. Wasn't going to fly too far, thoigh it is a pretty big lake there. Boat launch area is on the other side of the lake from where interstate 90. There is a short road that goes ther. Nice are to fly at. Not too close to the ski resort area. Also it is national forest through there, not wilderness. Judging from both airma and Aloft Air Control, the wilderness area is well to the north and east of Interstate 90 probably beyond the mountains overlooking the freeway. While Wilderness areas are no drone zones, National forests and blm areas are usually fair game to flybfro. Exceptions are: flying in a crowded area, where there are localized restrictions in place (like in the ski resort area, but I wasn't flying in the ski resort area), flying too close to airports and airstrip (closest one from there is in Easton), there are temporary fligjt restrictions in place or if you are flying from a wilderness area. Couldn't find any restrictions on drones in the boat launch area and found a nice isolated spot to fly from, so it worked out well. Also wasn't too close to where the trail was either (was more interested in flying along the lake than the trail). Havw Ben there twice now, second time happened back in the fall, brought the mini 2 on the second flight l. Would go there more often, but it is a lengthy drive getting to from Snohomish so I can't go there too often. After I got done, stopped for a beer at the dru Bru brewery before eventually heading back home.
Your drone footages are amazing! The shots of the river with some islets in the middle are gorgeous! New sub here.

Nice drone footage, however, I think this ranch was much nicer when it was Rajneeshpuram.
Amazing footage. New subscriber. Thanks.
Man, elementary school was the good times. I wonder how my teachers would feel if they knew I'm a sophomore now! Ive been to that school since kindergarten and now I go to Snohomish High School
Yeah time flies. Interestingly I didn't go to Dutch Hill during my elementary school years. Prior to 6th grade, I was going to school in Illinois. Lived in the silver Firs area from 6th grade to 10th grade, so I was going to gateway middle school for Jr high and later Jackson fir high school. Ended up finishing out my high school years at Jackson. My youngest brother did go to Dutch Hill , along with centennial middle school, freshman campus and eventually Sno high school
@@ryanjonesdronechannel724 that's pretty cool!
@@ryanjonesdronechannel724I go to Dutch hill so does my 2 sisters my biggest sister went to this school for 2 years and my youngest sister (I’m the youngest in my family) went here for 3 years and this is my first year without her but my older brother went to and my 2 sisters went to forest view but I went to Dutch hill for all my 6 years and now the youngest girl in my family and the oldest girl went to centennial but now my older sister goes to Snohomish high school but my brother went to AMHS for his high school
