63 Arcade VS Nintendo Entertainment System Games Compared
Have you checked out "Karate Survivor" Gave me SUCH old skool beat 'em up vibes. Plz don't apologise for MISTAKES. You don't use AI? Mistakes build character. Love the Retroness of this, got a sub from me! fyi "Bayou Billy" was a childhood fave of mine.
What about Bill Laimbeer Combat Basketball?
Good video, I love old beat'em ups. To answer part of the video, the guys that block attacks in Mighty Final Fight were in Final Fight. In the original, they were slightly larger enemies wearing leather jackets named either Axl or Slash.
Ahhh ok. Next time I play final fight i will look out for them. I remember the name Axl.
MM1 is still my favorite in the series. Except Iceman’s stage. Screw Iceman’s stage. 😂
Is it because of the vanishing blocks?
When you had the 3 pointer figured out on Double Dribble, it essentially became a kid fight hidden inside an NES cart 😂
Love longer videos, hopefully these get the views you expect. Awesome work, keep it up. Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate
Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. This video is longer than my normal videos but I just didn't wanna leave anything out.
38:26 The meatball refills your health when you lose all your energy (In the normal mode). You also get a free man, and more ammo for doing the other two practice stages.
Fire Man is actually the easiest boss to kill damageless. Trick is, he only shoots at you when you shoot at him, or when you're far away. So right away, get in his personal space. (You'll probably have to jump over one shot before you're close enough.) Don't worry about shooting him yet, just follow him back and forth, get comfortable staying close to him with his left-right pattern. Once you have that down, start including shots when you think you can jump over his counter-attack. You can develop a nice rhythm, easy as Thanksgiving pie.
Holy Smokes. I never knew that. Thank you for sharing . I guess you are never too old to learn something. Next time I play I am so doing this. Thank you for sharing.
@@RudetunasArcade Thanks! I only recently learned it myself while trying to clear out the MM1 set on RetroAchievements. :)
"Telephone on a plunger" lmao I like it!
Lol
The overnight "save" was definitely used in my childhood with the NES. 👍
Good stuff. Thank God they came out with memory cards..lol
I apologize for the editing on this video. There was a couple of mistakes..lol but I will fix it after i get some sleep. in the meanwhile think of the as Easter eggs.
I remember getting this game as a gift when it first came out. At first we thought it kinda sucked. Because it was hard until we discovered you could use the other robots power. Thanks to the nes advantage we also discovered the electric man cheat when using the "slow mo" setting. We beat it a few times. The mm2 came out and we blew through it so fast. It was easier than 1.
I agree they definitely toned down the difficulty
My brother and I are huge Lakers fans and revere Magic. We rented Magic Johnson's Fast Break, figured out that whoever was player two was always going to lose, and exchanged the game for Arch Rivals.
Glad you upgraded your game. Yeah I think they just slapped Magics name on that game just to sell it.
👍🏾💯
Nice video. 👍🏾
Thank you so much.
If only tecmo wrestling and pro wrestling had tag team
I think the universe would have exploded..lol that would have been too much fun.
You’re getting AI upscaling A bigger GPU And 2tb of storage That’s alot for $200
Tube socks were not a thing in the 90s, either were short shorts, except maybe stockton lol. The long shorts, even stupidly long shorts, became a thing in the 90s.
Like Stings STINKER SPLASH!!!
So right about that platform in Gutsman. I could never get past it as a child. So annoying. Now its the yellow devil.
Yeah that stage was challenging back in the day.
Spleen Mean Oakland was in WCW by then.
WCW was my favorite wrestling game on the NES. I'm surprised you didn't go over their finishers! To pull their finishers off, wear your opponent down, and get him to drop to one knee in middle of the ring, then press both a and b buttons at the same time. If done correctly, the screen will flash, and the move will be pulled off.
I liked Dr. J/Bird more than the Jordan game. Might be because it was the 1st basketball i played but remember playing it nonstop in the school computer lab The sound effects for the double dribble 3 pt shot and dunks will be burned into my memory until the day I die
Tecmo NBA, I played that game non-stop. Loved the stats part of a full season
Mm3 is a little better than 2
Verrrrry few games have lasted sooooo many years and had so many different cartoons and sequels
The M.U.S.C.L.E. game has almost the same play style as the Ring King boxing game..
I grew up to wrestlemania the game on nes . As a 7yr old living the time of the 80s this was enough for us. Keep in mind video games were not at its peak so we were not expecting much . So it depends how old you are cause if you are 30 or younger then of course you will see it different than i would. Age matters
That is true, what mad it hard for me was because my expectations were set so high with the WWF Superstars in the arcade plus having played pro wrestling and knowing what the NES was capable of.
Megaman 1 waa also my introduction to the series. Looking forward to the next videos. If you haven't played the rest of the series, I HIGHLY recommend Megaman 9 out of the rest of the series, though they are all good... except for 8. Ugh.... that game...
The music that is considered repetitive and annoying today were considered earworms and stuck with you for days back in the day.
I've done ROM updates to two of these games (and almost a 3rd). I've put out a few updates to Tecmo NBA Basketball in the form of annual updates and a Tecmo NCAA Basketball game. Also, one of my ealiest updates was to Jordan vs. Bird in the form of Melo vs. Lebron - One on One.
I always think it is cool when people update roms with there own ideas. Keep it up.
Dynmaite kid The road warrior...mostly animal, Haku, bo bo brazil masquaris and Brusier Boldy... The other verison has you vs you you can argue that is the british bulldogs or bret hart at the time or hulk hogan
I loved Ultimate Basketball for some reason as a kid. I loved the dunk animation lol.
Graphically it was one of the better looking games.
Nice video. 👍🏾 I'd say the genesis version of arch rivals was better, or just as good than the arcade version. Jordan VS Bird was just BAD. 😩
Yeah the Sega Genesis often did an arcade port justice and kept it as true to its arcade counterpart as possible.
I still get the DD team/option select menu screen music stuck in my head from time to time randomly. Just glorious.
So we all know that, in Mega Man games, the Robot Masters are typically strong against, weak to, or neutral to the other Robot Masters' weapons. It's core to the way Mega Man games play - figuring out that Weapon each Robot Master is weakest to, and then using that for an easy win in a handful of shots. But in the original, they gave Mega Man *himself* those same properties! Mega Man is weak to Ice Man and Elec Man (who both kill him in 3 hits) and neutral or strong against Bomb, Guts, Fire, and Cut Man (who all do *significantly* less damage to Mega Man per hit). So when you're fighting Elec Man with Cut Man's weapon (or Ice Man with Elec Man), it's 3 hits and you're dead for BOTH sides. Whereas fighting the other Robot Masters, neither side has this massive weakness so you'll see fights that don't end after three blows, but instead 6 or 8 or 10. Obviously, this whole "Mega Man also has weaknesses" idea was dropped and never seen again in *any* of the sequels, but it was an interesting concept and makes for some fun Mega Man trivia.
I never knew that. So you are saying the damage you received depended on which weapon you had equipped? Or just the damage you received from certain robot masters in general?
@@RudetunasArcade Your equipped weapon only affects how much damage YOU deal. But getting hit by Ice or Elec Man (either their shots OR physically) does 1/3 of your health, because he's weak to them. By contrast, getting hit by Fire Man or Bomb Man takes off, like, 4 pips - which is only about 1/8 of your life - I forget exactly how many pips of life Mega Man has in the NES games off the top of my head.
WWF WrestleMania was the first game I ever bought with my own money. I saved my $5 allowance for months to get this game. It was so bad, I cried.
I'm sorry bro, i cant blame you.
Tag Team Wrestling was like Pac Man. So many levels. It never ended.
At least Bison didn't do 5 ticks of damage with his flaming torpedo if you blocked it like in CE.
I played so much double dribble back in the day. Me and my brothers got into physical fights over it haha.
I whooped my cousins ass over that damn game.
This is incredible for 1985! And I'm noticing little things that other, later wrestling games didn't have...the way they incorporated the ropes into the gameplay looks beautiful and fun. In WWF Royal Rumble, both wrestlers would inexplicably bounce off the ropes if you did a move into the ropes. In the Zen Nippon and Fire Pro games, you'd send the guy out of the ring. This game stays truer to the player's intentions, which was just to execute the move...and so you bounce off the ropes on your way down (doing a splash). It felt like I was watching 80s light heavyweight matches.
I do, respectfully, disagree about wrestlemania challenge. Once you got the hang of the controls, its a lot of fun, at least considerably more than several on the list. Having a survivor series bout actually added some variety, and I appreciate that the whole ring and outside was accessible. I see that I am not alone in this opinion.
That's fair. Thank you for sharing and showing love for WrestleMania Challenge. That is how i felt about MUSCLE even though most people hate that game..lol
I remember back when Magic Johnson’s Fast Break came out, I thought it was fun. I revisited it again in modern day and realized it should’ve been called ‘Kurt Rambis’ Pud Pounder’
@@shaneobryan6114 Hahaha
HARD AS F. One of the "only games I had as a kid" My older brother could beat it. I couldn't. Till 2 and 3 trained me. Only ever played through in full once, Only ever will. The nightmare is over. Trials Overcame. What we are now? Machines ourselves. Living Destroyers. Reploids.
It was challenging.
I feel like I remember you can annihilate wiley form 2 with firemans weapon bc it will hit with that rotating part. I'm not 100% sure on that. Cool video!
You might be right i will have to go back and try it.
Just discovered your channel, keep up the good work!
Thank you so much.
Yea, the WWF(wwe) games weren't so great on the platform. They ranged from bad to average at best. MUSCLE and Team Team Wrestling were ok. Pro Wrestling was iconic for sure. The producer of that game, Masato Masuda, went on to create the famous Fire Pro Wrestling game series. Sadly he is no longer with us now. The WCW game was a reskin of the Famicom game, Super Star Pro Wrestling. Tecmo World Wrestling is indeed the better wrestling game for the system.
You know your NES wrestling games. Thank you for sharing.
I remember a buddy and I renting the Magic Johnson game from the video store. It was a terrible BB game. Double Dribble was the one that I have the fondest memories playing. The Bird vs Jordan game has a long history going back to the Atari and Apple computer days before the NES era. I think it Dr J vs Bird when it first came out. Cool video;)
@@Gen-X-Memories Thank you so much.
Thank you! While watching this, i had to beeak out MegaMan and play. Thank you for the refresher. As someone born in the 80s, i remember the VHS tapes with tips and tricks. Even cost my mom and dad a bunch of money on the 1-900 tips and tricks for the phone. Thanks for the memory refresher! Subbed
Thank you and welcome to the channel. Yeah I couldnt call those 1 900 tip numbers because my parents had the 1 900 numbers blocked through the phone company..lol but I definitely remember seeing them on TV. 😆
My two absolute favorite NES B-ball games are Double Dribble and Hoops. My best friends and I played both of those games for countless hours. I remember getting hyped hearing the national anthem and watching the crowd entering the arena at the beginning of Double Dribble. Also, I still love Hoops for the unique playground setting. It made the game stand out from all of the other B-ball titles. I still play both games fairly often.
@@justafanofnerdculture7602 It's cool that you still play those games. Classics never die.
