Being a tram driver was really my dream job and when i saw this video it made me rethink my words…

I wonder why they always make bumping nosies..

These trams remind me of the vintage models at Crich Museum, UK. The bell and noise of the traction motors reminds me a lot of riding those trams as a child. I would love to drive a double decker tram one day!

D/ deckers do tend to be noisy because the driveshaft is smaller than the single and also I suspect the driveshaft bearing are slightly worn hence the noise ..contrary to what you might think ..D/Deckers are much more easier to drive ..they hold the road much better because they are Bttm heavy .. they take some tipping over …they can tip to around 45 degrees before they tip ..that takes some doing trust me … I’ve seen many a top deck ripped off because the driver didn’t familiarise himself to the max height and gone off route and hit a low bridge … If I had a choice to drive either D/Double or single … then Double wins it ….

This tram system doesn't seem very efficient, I would be pissed sitting there and barely moving. I see HK trams only as an tourist attraction. But I haven't been there yet, so my view might not be correct

I just wanted to thank you for your videos! It's great to watch you drive through the streets of Hong Kong. You must enjoy your job very much. I drive trams in Melbourne and it has been so interesting to see the similarities to driving a tram in your city. Every time a pedestrian isn't looking when crossing in front of you I feel the urge to brake and sound the bell also 😅
