Recently subscribed. I can't figure the algorithm. You've been around a bit and this is the first video I've seen of yours. Best of luck with the channel none the less. That is the most rigging of any other builds on yt and it is the b-mb. Sets it right off, looks great. I've seen pictures of sails that were two color and the 'mauve' we'll say was included. Nice. Hoping to find the time to go through your the back catalog of videos. Be well.

The flaps can dangle down, but I think the airlerons are straight when parked. They are connected and are either up/down or down/up and don't work like the elevator.

I had that short short on one of my wings on the earlier kit. I found it in a previous 40 year old stash late last year - it was my last kit from that period. Fixed it with a bit of filler 😊

Hi Tam. At the risk of becoming another t-shirt in your merch store, I'm puzzled why the Lancaster and other builds on your channel have visible, unresolved seams. It's a modelling basic and not something I was expecting to see here, given that you've already written three self published 'how to' books and have overt ambitions to be a 'modelling influencer' - for clarity, any modeller is naturally free to ignore this aspect when building for themselves but if models are offered up to publication as a route to learning and as an example to guide others then there's at least a tacit obligation to eliminate seams. That's clearly the case here - to emphasise, I don't mean this unkindly Tam and you're obviously free to disregard as you prefer. Either way, can I say that I really do wish you and the channel well going forwards. 🙂

That was most enjoyable to watch particularly your foray into scratch building. Well done! It's nice to see some old school modelling. Just one small note. The wheel hubs you've selected are incorrect for an FB.VI. These variants had solid hubs on both sides. Later types also followed suite. It was only the prototype and B.IVs that had the slotted hub, and these faced to port, whilst the starboard side were solid. A small matter, but perhaps something to note for future builds. Just saying. Good presentation. 👍

I think you're being a bit harsh on this basic kit, I made this as the Mk.XVIII and was very pleasantly surprised, compared to the original release back in the 1950's this was a quantum leap forward. The no-shimmying tail wheel was a pleasant surprise as was the fit apart from the 57mm canon housing but the wings were superbe I reckon Tamya would have been proud.. Yes i agree the interior detailing is a bit sparse and the canopy was very thick could have easily been replaced by Arfix but lets face it the exterior of the mossi is a very plain aircraft, but at least there were two crew members supplied, now if only Airfix could dicky up the cockpit and replace the canopy and re-release the model they could add three more marks to their range , the FB Mk.VI the night fighter and the Mk.XVIII to the B. Mk.XVI and the PR. Mk.XVI. I'd buy them.

Just a tip from someone who has sailed longships, the sail is boundup using the sheets, so a looping thread from one end to the other would be more authentic, as it were. The up-right stands are really to hold the oars out if the way when not needed. There's no need for stands to support the furled sail as you can just houst it out of the way - whereas oars can roll around and be a danger underfoot.
