      Hey!! Thanks for watching. The pickups are the Billy Sheehan signature DiMarzio Relentless pickups and I have a video coming soon on how I put them in. Interesting! You'd be able to fit two or more together in the desk by using an xlr as a patch cable which might also help in the case of interference by running the xlr closer to your spot on stage for potentially better line of sight between transmitter and receiver. Seen this trick done with the U4 for iems. Would be interested to see if there is noticeable latency going wireless from the bass in to the helix and then wireless to the desk?

    • @twistieonbass
      @twistieonbass Месяц назад

      Hey!! thanks for watching. Yes, we have a couple running into the desk to cover mic's and sometimes my Helix. The only issue is that the spacing for XLR inputs on most desks is too narrow to fit two of these together. The way around that, is as you suggest, to use a short XLR cable. My Line 6 wireless has around 5ms latency (approximately what you hear when standing away from your amp), and these have similar. So... potentially up to 10ms latency end to end, but I haven't noticed it while playing.

The longer part I'd place at the end of your video. As fas as Audio it's OK but next step would be a Rodes Wireless mic GO with a lapel mic. Hey! Thanks for watching. If I understand what you are trying to do, I would use a SEND in front of the AMP/CAB modules to your AMP, and your Main Out(s), including the whole signal patch, to the Front of House. That should work without any latency.

One for headphone out of HX and other for DAW send with band mix minus his track. Mac users can combine multiple audio interfaces so you can just plug your HX in via USB record and monitor through HX headphone out with no latency in a studio setting.

    No problem. I’ve heard it said by several people on RUclips that Quad Cortex was the most powerful multi effects processor on the market. I guess if you hear it enough from multiple people, the tendency is to believe it. I’ve also heard things about seamless preset changes that were not accurate. Both the original Headrush Pedalboard and the Headrush Prime can seamlessly change from one preset to another. Of course, the Tone Master Pro can do that as well. I’ve owned all of these multi effects units, so I know from experience that they have that capability. I currently use the Tone Master Pro. I’ve sold all of my other units. For me, I think the Tone Master Pro is the best all round solution. It works the way guitarist think. It’s the closest thing to using actual amps and pedals that I have found. Of course, all of this very subjective. We like what we like. Life would be boring if we were all the same. I appreciate what you do on your channel. Take care. 😎🎸

      Great insight.. I don't understand how people get these great sounds out of the helix. When I try to set up an amp, it always sounds brittle and scooped, it sometimes feels like the parameters don't really do much.

      I know exactly how you feel. Keep at it, and you'll unlock some great tones. A great place to start with really fantastic "flat"/neutral bass sounds is stuff from jon willis drtone.theblackcreekband.com/?fbclid=IwAR2eVvoRggZn_6ZXFOxvHQc2EwAbWZ-Y9cmNjEKtRLuGNPmHsF0B55-lHLM . The man is a genius. or you can grab a copy of my book where I describe how I approach setting up a signal chain and how the bass effects work geni.us/DitchAmp_Book

      Absolutely. This was the first "grown up" bass I ever owned.

    Great video man! I’ve messed around with the Poly Capo to help tune to drop A#/Bb but I’ll give the Pitch whammy a shot during my next rehearsal. Thanks for the idea and video!

    Retuning or changing basses between songs is a pain. I use the Pitch Wham effect in my Helix and HX Stomp to adjust the tuning to the song I'm playing along with.
