I stayed in a small village in Buriram for 6 months .i got used to the heat and people were very friendly. My problem was the constant noise of young guys on motorbikes and blaring music. The noise from chickens and dogs i could accept .All areas of the village were noisy. If you live outside the village it is quiet but you risk being robbed unless you have high walls topped with razor wire. Also you need something to do. I fixed up the old house and rewired it but because of the heat i could only work early mornings .The rest of the day included a lot of reading ,shopping trips to the city and teaching my girlfriend to drive.

I have stayed in my girlfriends village in the Kalasin area. The last time was for a month in 2022. The daily routine was to feed the fish in the pond, take the Buffalo for a walk to eat the grass. Have breakfast, then feed the chooks and ducks. The highlight was going to the local market on a Friday evening. I did the village thing just to keep in the good books with my girlfriend. But in reality, I was bored out of my brains
