    First thing I suggest is get rid of the green fuel line. It's garbage and has a history of swelling, leaking and causing fires. Then take the muffler off the end of that intake air tube (yes it's a muffler, NOT an air filter) and get a good air filter (one for a small engine works well) or drill more air holes in it and line the inside with some cloth or filter material. Intake air should be clean so the fuel atomizer screen, glow plug inlet hole stay clean for startup. And you want to pull that air from outside because it's more dense and ignites better. You don't want to burn inside warm air and send it outside, do you?

    The diesel heater Hass to go through cool down if you shut it off without letting it go through the cool down. You could damage internal parts from too much heat.

    I have a similar set up in my 22x17 attached and fully insulated garage using the same exhaust port through the wall. It takes a while to start to warm my garage and will keep it at about 12-15C when its 0C outside here in Canada. The real issue is that my cement garage floor holds so much cold, it is hard for the heater to compete with it. Overall thought it is a cheap alternative to electric, or the expense of a natural gas furnace. Cheers from Canada

    I think the new cvt clutch you got will work really nicely. I have a club cart that I am just starting and I am using a 2 speed manual transmission from a garden tiller with reverse and I am going to try to use a electric pto for engaging the blades on a mower for my clutch by using a power adjuster switch to engage it, confusing ain’t it lol. But with the gear reduction from the rear differential and the tiller trans it is about a 25 to one so I am going to overdrive it as much as I can I don’t need to go fast just moving things around on my land. I like what you have done so far now 15 mph on yours with what amount of reduction do you have?

    • @messygaragetinkering
      @messygaragetinkering Год назад

      You're the first person I've found that's mentioned using an electric PTO on a golf cart build! What kind of "power adjuster switch" are you going to use? I was thinking about creating a soft start circuit. I have similar plans to create an overdrive gear (6th gear basically) by changing the final gear ratio from a low torque-y sprocket (thinking 1:3, since the diff is 12:1, so it'll essentially become a 4:1 overall) to a higher speed sprocket, once in 5th gear (thinking 1:4 to make it 3:1 since it'll only be activated once you're at the top of the power band in 5th gear - I'm using an ATV engine for this build with an intermediate shaft to allow gear ratio adjustment/experimentation without having to open the differential and being limited with available gears). With a couple RPM activated switches and a relay wired to latch once activated, I hope to make it shift automatically! It'll require a second PTO for the reverse, since the low gear sprocket will be on a sprag bearing to allow the high gear PTO to overspin it (reverse needs to be geared as close to a 1:1 as I can get it between the intermediate shaft and the pinion shaft, maybe a 12 tooth to a 10 tooth, with the intermediate shaft spinning slightly faster than the pinion shaft, in order to assure the low gear won't grab and lock up). The extra power draw may limit how much I can use it since my stator doesn't put out a lot of power and there aren't any aftermarket ones available that makes more power but I think it'll still be worth experimenting with.

      @@messygaragetinkering I would like to talk to you about this clutch idea I am very confident that the electric clutch idea would really be a way to eliminate lots of the clutch issues on these small engines. I really don’t want to say to much only because I am in the testing stages and not to be rude but I don’t know who would see it lol I also am just starting a idea to use some zero turn technology to build a go kart that by my calculations should handle and much better than any rear wheel drive go kart ever could now I feel like the go kart idea should be atleas better than current technology but if could be like a lot better lol I would like to at least like to have some one listen to them and give me some input or idea of what you think I have been a professional tech since the 80s and I have had lots of experience with all fields like automotive technology welding race cars and bikes so I’m not just some kid trying to make a name for his self although there is nothing wrong with that my name is Jerry and I live in the north west part of the state of Louisiana

    First , I would like to say if I had to do it all over again , I would buy the batteries instead of doing a conversion. I am in the process of converting a clubcar electric to gas. I did inherit a yamaha 36 volt years later and all I needed to do was some welding on the frame and new floorboards, and deep cycle batteries at $ 150 ea, 900 bucks total, Had that up and running in one week. I expect my batteries to last no less than 5 years maintained. Furthermore the yamaha has a aluminum dump body and has paid for itself within the first year. Now getting back to the Clubcar, There is so much involved here to make it similair to the operation of a clubcar gas cart. While still in the process ongoing at this moment , When completed , it will be a superb 4 person carrier cart, but this will be my last conversion .I'm staying with the original setup in the furture.
