How tough was Mike Bernardo if a karateka like F. Filho who succeeded the 100 kumite can't stand and KO'd. Funny that M. Bernardo used more leg techniques than F. Filho who is a black belt kyokushin karateka
Just monsters...no K1 spirit. KO's like before 2000 are gone..where equal fighters was fight and no monsters dominate the competition. K1 was doomed after that
It is so heartwarming to see how much they actually respected and cared for each other. They were opponents and not enemies, very much unalike nowadays. K1 from 90's was the very best combat sport event ever. Andy forever, osu.
Ernesto's fight I.Q. is just crazy, even a guy with style as ambiguous as Fransisco cannot penetrate the shield. And he doesn't even have to wait to counter them he can just attack and he's so precise he just slices through the guard like nothing.

All right, being from Holland I don't have any illusions about being objective in this :). But if you ask me , It starts of with 2 very dubious decisions against the two Dutch fighters. I love Sefo, but I don't see any reason for him to have the upper hand against Aerts (I think even an extra round would have been a lucky decision for Sefo) and I think the ref ended the fight between Hoost and Sapp way to soon. Did anyone think Hoost looked like he was to hurt or shook up enough to continue the fight? Hee looked sharp as a knive. Sapp on the other hand looked like he just fought a war and was about to collapse. BTW, I read comments about Sapp being the end of K1. And I get where it's coming from. But figures like him, the fact that people from every background could compete, is also precisely what made k1, in my opinion. But amazing watching this stuff back after all these years. Thanks for the upload!
Interesting that how many KO's was in the early 2000 era of K1 than after that

Before the 2000 era K1 has more KO's then after ...lost lot of spirit and edge
I had this on VHS back in the day. My stepdad recorded it. Must’ve watched this 50 times!! It’s what got me into fighting really
The golden era of K-1 when stars where born.
I would have loved if Jerome Le Banner had won the title at least once. I think he deserved it, very unlucky a few times.
Peter Aerts sounds punch drug today.
Hunt destroyed him 😮
Bring back K1, everyone wants it back

Holiday Season was K1 season. Loved it as a child
Fighters who didnt care about their losses. They wanted to win.

This shit has the most baki vibe i've seen
1:08:53 horrible sound
musashi was an embarassing joke for japan clearly being held up and dishonestly getting ahead
Anyone know the name of the song / theme that is played during the breaks?

worst k-1 ever.
Such a brilliant display, beautiful
Legendary back when life was human
Hoost was lucky Lebanner broke his arm that day .
tranen van goud
K1 finals in Japan where the modern Gladiators. The atmosphere was amazing as well.
The Japanese judges were a complete disgrace in this tournament.

I agree about the Wefo decision, no way was that an outright decision win. I was leaning Aerts before they called it.
Andy Hug forever!
