I think the remarks would be a lot better if you would have color matched to make it blend better and worked the thin vinyl patch in with a hard smooth object like the rounded end of a screwdriver handle so the grain shows more. The color being too dark and people without the ability to visualize how it could look being the main problem.

Agreed with other comments. Do not do this over time it causes outlet and switch failure often cracking at a higher rate. I’ve pulled too many crumbling switches out that were back stabbed. Use higher quality outlets with plates, built in wago style connectors or take 30 seconds and do the classic proven practice j hook at the wire end attach with the screw. Quick wrap of electrical tape for good measure and seat properly. Back stabbing is cheap sometimes dangerous practice.

If it is foundation related movement why is the cracking predominantly vertical with no horizontal component? If I was going to say this was definitely foundation movement then I would expect to see cracking in the mortar bed but the cracking is only in the perpendicular joints. I'm a structural engineer for the UK.

Just don't put that crap on your house to begin with. If you have vinyl siding on your house, rip it off and use wood. I like battonboard. Even T-111 type product is much better.

If surface your painting is not flat IE ( your surface has a slight texture ) you can caulk edge of tape to prevent bleed through
