This is me racing the 2019 PNWMA Monkey Wrench in the Junior 15 Over class. It runs from the start until my battery dies. I placed 14th of 22 riders in my class and raced for a cumulative time of 3:43:07. Great race!

Sweet ride😎
Do you play call of duty
Sweet video. What gear were you usually in climbing the single track? Just got my 2024 FX 350.
How are you liking it so far? I’m up in the air between this or a TX300
This seems unsafe.
💪
Having a buddy there to give you tips and tricks is a great way to learn!
Very nice. Love my 2019 FX 350.
#klimlife
Looks mint
Do you like the new chest mount? Or do you prefer the chin mount?
Gotta put a FMS Powercore 4 exhaust on that!!!
You passed me, good work man
Great vid Mike! And great race👍
Oh my GOD
Have you ever raced in Nevada?
Sick
Naw, only Canada.
Have no interest in... monkey see / monkey do... I prefer places unknown to everybody in my species.
I never race on Vedder Mountain or support same. I have rescued off-road riders who like me were not raving others in North America...
Dang that thing fires up way faster than my YZ250FX haha. I think I'm making the switch this summer to a FX350. Loving everything I have seen on these bikes
I'm just in the processes of either buying the 350 or the yz250fx do you really think it's worth going to the 350?
Is the engine braking bothersome??
Just a characteristic of riding a four stroke. If you mean bike specific, then I didn't notice an appreciable difference versus my previous four stroke bike.
As you put time on it has the stalling gotten better? I just picked up a leftover 22 gas gas ex350 which is very similar to your bike. I've only had it out twice and in the open it's the best bike ever but in the tight woods the stalling was maddening. I have less than 10 hours and I've been told that it gets a lot better after the 10-hour mark
Ah it's well below zero now and i've put it away for the winter. I put 16 hours on it this fall though. I think it's gotten better, but that might also just me getting use to it and feathering the clutch more.
Yes I've heard the idle screw needs to be adjusted to roughly 2200 rpms. I don't own the bike but I did talk to somebody that had one and I asked him about that and he said that's what he did.
@@steveg56 that’s what I ended up doing. That and going to a 13/51 gearing vs the stock 14/51. I think 13/50 would be ideal but right now there is virtually no stalling unless I make an error.
That’s good stuff
Thats cool. Do tracks typically have times when newbies can come dick around without getting ran over by the regulars ?
This track is pretty casual. It just happened to be really quiet day when this was filmed. I don't know about other tracks, but I imagine there is something like that.
Bike looks stunning 👍. Have they upgraded the FX loom to take lights yet (like the TX 2 strokes can) I'm on the 2019 FX and to run lights on it was a chore.
I'm not sure actually. If I put a light on this bike I'll post up a video.
Engine braking on a 4-stroke sucks... two stroke is King of the Woods
What type of fuel do you use?
94 octane, with no ethanol.
How you liking the new bike
10/10 😁
@@dirtbikemike11 i just got back from riding my FX 350. I'm hella rusty right now, i haven't rode in a few years. I've taken it out a few times already. It has a rekluse it's different there's no engine braking, so it gets sketchy riding your brakes down steep goat trails.
Yeah, that's my concern about rekluse clutches. Also resting uphill, nothing to stop it from rolling back.
@@dirtbikemike11 Haha, true it takes some getting use to for sure in these areas.
@@dirtbikemike11 I completely agree and that's why it will not be a solution for any kind of stalling problem. I'm going to give mine some time before I make any decisions but I'll probably go ahead and drop to a 13 tooth front. If it doesn't get better about stalling I'll try clutch weight and eventually a vortex ECU. Hopefully gearing down to 13 and just getting used to the bike will be enough
Awesome bike, congrats man!
How do you like the bike? I just bought a used 2018 fx350 low hours with a rekluse CX, get ECU, geared down one tooth in the front and many other mods. The bike is a goat it will go seriously anywhere and it has balls.
Been loving it. Yeah, the engine just goes when I twist the throttle.
Just got mine today!!
I am waiting until they arrive Oct 04 they arrive in New Zealand, I have sold my 2020 FX350. Only 2 are coming in on the first shipment, And I have scored one.
I have the same bike. You can purchase an Ares rear disc guard (same as a 23 350 xcf). The factory skid plate isn’t bad other than no linkage protection. I ride the PNW single track and really like the power and ability to lug. Enjoy!
How's the AXP Skid Plate compared to the Enduro Engineering Aluminum one?
it fires up really quick. my gases 350 takes forever to start
Yeah, much faster than my yz250fx for sure.
Nice bike. 🍻
man i wish i had someone to teach me lol i had to learn literally from blood sweat and tears
How do you pass someone on a race like this? Seems so narrow lol
Ride close and let them know you are there. Eventually, you'll find a place to pass, they'll let you by, or they will make a mistake. I let riders by me all the time. I find this is actually the most common action. If somebody comes up behind you really fast, they probably aren't in your class anyway and there is no point wasting energy trying to race them.
I’m heading out on 9/4/22 for my 1st MX experience. I’m 64 😬.
An update: the 9/4 date for my 1st MX ride got changed to 8/28, so I was out on the track yesterday. Two take-aways: (1) You need a real dirt bike (not a duel sport); (2) If you have trials riding in your background, you will have to “unlearn” some habits, especially about keeping your feet on the pegs at all times.
this track looks excellent to learn on. where is it?!
Whoever rides at motocross track just know that I admire your courage
It’s not that hard. You should try kt
@@thegasmove9341 one day
Also what GoPro mount do you use. It’s a chin mount right?
Yeah, that's right. The company is called proshot.
@@dirtbikemike11 cool thanks
Nice job what size back you on
If you die and go to dirt bike heaven , this is the place. Do yourself a favor and never ride here. Everything else will never compare .
fuck yeah whispering pines race way
you guys have such nice terrain over there i wish i had even 50% of this
You should definitely upload the second laps of races because that’s when I pass the vet amateur 😂
haha! Only so much battery available. You better ride faster so you can pass me within the first hour!
@@dirtbikemike11 I’ll do my best😂
Atta boy mike track looked great
Enjoyed your video, I have a question. How do you get such a great playback quality on your video.
Video compression is a rabbit hole. Foliage dense, fast moving video is one of the worst case scenarios, so we're fighting an uphill battle with these types of videos. Stabilization helps, either a gimbal setup or digitally. I use the built-in digital stabilization that my gopro has. I also have the camera mounted on my head, which I find not only gives a better viewpoint but also helps with stabilization in most cases. The other thing you can do is try to upload your video in 4k. RUclips will apply their newer vp09 compression to these videos, instead of the older av1. If you're not shooting in 4k, you can upscale your 1080p video to 4k and upload that.
@@dirtbikemike11 I use the GoPro hero 8 and yes I use stabilization. I do my videos on 1080p. Does it matter what type of program you upload from? I use my phone from Quik to photos then to iMovie. Still shows as 1080p. Don’t see a upscale option. Thanks
Great trail
