    Self-help, in the context of personal development and improvement, is generally permissible in Islam as long as it aligns with Islamic principles and does not contradict the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah. Islam encourages self-improvement and the pursuit of knowledge. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: I believe (though not 100% sure of the reference) there is a hadith that says: "Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave." However, it is important to ensure that the self-help methods and materials do not promote ideas or practices that are contrary to Islamic beliefs. For example, any self-help content that encourages shirk (associating partners with Allah), unethical behavior, or actions that are haram (forbidden) should be avoided. The Qur'an also emphasizes the importance of self-improvement and striving for excellence: Ayah: 13:11 Arabic: إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ Translation: "Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves." Respected scholars like Imam Al-Ghazali and Ibn Al-Qayyim have written extensively on personal development, spirituality, and self-improvement within the framework of Islamic teachings. In summary, self-help is permissible in Islam as long as it is in harmony with Islamic values and does not lead one away from the path of righteousness.

However, it's not good to initially mislead others in exchange for clicks, especially about the deen. Instead, use a more accurate title, such as "Self-Help *can* Lead to KUFR! video is very very poor 👎🏼 don’t even know where to start critiquing … so if someone is obese and wants to be healthy and goes to the gym they want to attract woman and get men’s acceptance??? so if an obese person wants to loose weight they should just make duaa without putting in any action??? also the whole cause and effect thing you rambled about isn’t accurate

      @@LegalTas ok let me reply, of course there are exceptions to what I have mentioned. This is common sense. I would even still argue that at least 10% of the motive of going to the gym is to attract women and get respect. This is absolutely natural and an innate desire that Allah SWT has placed in us. And so I'll repeat again, like I mentioned in the pinned comment: you can either want respect and attraction for the sake of Allah SWT or not. Should a Muslim intend to do it for the sake of Allah SWT or not? Of course! Again regarding your second point "should I just make dua and not put any action", answered in the pinned comment. You need put in the effort, tell me where I said don't do that? Never.. What I said in the video is that you should not solely depend on yourself for anything, always make dua that Allah SWT helps you, never rely on yourself, you're a human, you're weak. As the example I mentioned in the pinned comment: If I said you couldn't breath without Allah SWT, does that mean that I said do not breath and simply rely that Allah will make oxygen enter your lungs? No.. Saying you couldn't have done something without Allah DOES NOT EQUAL don't do that thing and just rely on Allah. Tell me what I've said in cause and effect that isn't accurate, maybe I'm wrong, I'd like to correct myself.

  • @BaraaHussein_
    @BaraaHussein_ 16 дней назад

    Before criticising please read this to avoid misconceptions: I am not saying do not go the gym or start a business. I am not saying following your desires is bad, actually i explicitly mentioned in the video that you can follow your desires and get rewarded for doing so, by self indulging for the sake of Allah. For example you get rewarded for intimacy as the prophet pbuh told us. I didn't say improving yourself is bad, but Improve yourself for the sake of Allah. Go to the gym for Allah. Actions are by intentions. I am not saying do not improve yourself. I explicitly said near the end of the video, that when you change your goal from dunya to jannah, doing the things you did on self help won't be for the sake of doing them but for the sake of Allah, just like everything should be. In the chapter of self love, I said that going to the gym for the sake of getting respect from men and attraction from women, that is an example of following your desires. An example of following your desires the good way is: you go to the gym so that your wife is attracted to you, and you want respect from men so that they listen to you for example when you give dawah(both for the sake of Allah) I am not saying do not put in effort. Yes you need to put in the effort yourself, I mentioned this in a previous video titled 'Your future is already written, just put in some effort' But this video isn't about tawakul, it's about how self help makes you independent and makes you think that you can do everything on your own without Allah SWT. Which is why I mentioned you cannot do anything without Allah SWT. If I say you couldn't have taken this breath without Allah SWT, does that mean I'm saying don't breath and just rely that Allah will suddenly make oxygen enter your lungs?? I never mentioned don't start a business or don't go to the gym(actually the opposite), I mentioned don't rely only on yourself when doing these things. Point 2 does not equal point 1.

    Going to the gym isint following your desires the companions once asked the prophet about arrogance worried about themselfs becuase they liked having nice clothes and looking good and he said there is nothing wrong with this There is nothing wrong with having desire so long as there followed within the Frame work of what Allah has made permissable Example Your wives are like farmland for you, so approach them ˹consensually˺ as you please. contradiction to belief 1 and 2 :take with reason and tawkul on allah. contradiction to belief 3 : gym should be about your health (but it isnt necessarily a must as the self improvment makes it to be ) Look I hate the self help community for so many reasons, it is basically like fast food knowledge in a way. Be careful on what Allah's words mean and make sure to always take the ayah by only what it says without improvisation. I get what you're trying to do saying life is hard ,but god can make it easy by worshipping him and consistently doing so. It is a key point that consistency in islam + consistency in your life will both help you be a better man but this will only happen if allah wills it to happen and if you push yourself to that point. Allah can show you the way but You are the one that makes the choice. I'd suggest you do some research on Duaa and how allah wills it for us. then You'll truely understand that like Adam was in heaven we on earth get represented with blessings that WE asked for but we willingly ignore either due to the shayatan our ourselves.

      As salamu alaikum, have you actually watched the full video? I point out that these books sell you beliefs which make not depend on Allah SWT, and therefore not making dua along with other things. You cannot argue with me on this point, grab any book and it'll prove my point. Also the aim of self help is getting dunya. Everybody knows this. A muslim's aim should not be dunya rather jannah. This does not mean you sit in a cave and become a monk, what it means is that everything you do should be to worship Allah SWT. As I mentioned in the video, you can start a business and hit the gym, but do it for the sake of Allah. Entering jannah is the real success, that's what Allah SWT says in the Quran. Never did I say being successful makes you a kafir.

    • @dxterwolf

      @@BaraaHussein_ If you're a muslim then your entire life is meant and devoted to Allah that is true. Some things promoted in these books are wrong that is true. But what words you let influence you is up to you. You can disagree with certain points and disagree at others. That doesn't make these books inheritingly bad (what you are saying). Being successful in this world does not mean you stop praying and stop doing good deeds. Allah made all of us different, if you are told by your mother that you are skinny and that you should eat more and if you do eat more, is that kufr behavior to you? You are doing things so you are perceived better. No where is that a bad thing. Doing things for others is not a bad things as long as your attention isn't to get ayesha to like you. Looking better by going to the gym so you are in better physical health is not a bad thing. If you're getting bad grades and then want to get better grades to get a job and then support your family that isn't a bad thing. If you are trying to help people who have a bad mindset let me tell you that you are literally talking to a wall. Allah doesn't help those who dont help themselves. Your way of explaining things is also in itself very bad. Its good that you are close to allah but you need to study more. When prophet would enjoy with sahaba after winning a war is that also self indulgence? When muslim men were allowed to have sex with concubines after war is that not self indulgence? When they played drums was that also self indulgence? Wearing new clothes on eid, was that also self indulgence? If you want to help other people maybe you should make a better script with hadith or ayat that actually help your claim akhi.

Please do mention where I said doing things for others is a bad thing? I would like to delete that part of the video if I said that. You can self indulge for the sake of Allah aswell? @@BaraaHussein_ Their are big connected families, where the father or elder gets their children married early and provide them with financial sustenance until they can be independent. It comes at a cost of choice and freedom but if they make right decisions for you, you mature faster and are stronger. The same structure can also lead to the opposite, if a man is indefinitely supported and not given independent responsibility. I believe the approach of marrying young with support and gradually weaning off from the elder support is a good system.

    • @BaraaHussein_
      @BaraaHussein_ Месяц назад

      I agree, one should marry as soon as he is able to, and the elders have to be wise to know if the person is responsible enough to get married and is actually striving hard to provide or not, or as you said it'll lead to the opposite. Just because you're not financially set, doesn't mean you're irresponsible and shouldn't get married.
