I've been in Punk, Psychobilly, Oi, etc... for 25 years. I will say that I do like what this festival is doing but it really isn't anything Punk that I've done. I see more of an "Afro Alternative," "Alt Afro," "Afro Alt" is a better description for this. I'm all for this but again, there really isn't that much "Punk" in what I have seen. I will say if you like harder Black music check out Death, The Templars, and Negro Terror.

Loved this review! Just about to start season 3. I too love all the South African shows on Netflix 😂. I was like "Omg! Someone else has watched ALL of those too?!". I'm from London, UK and although we have South African exposure (mostly by proxy through Zimbabweans), I also have loved being exposed to their entertainment and drama and understanding the culture a bit more. I also recommend How To Ruin Christmas :)

Afropunk is not about punk anymore but rather the “alternative” black scene and it’s beautiful… R&B, Neo Soul, Jazz, Pure feel good hip hop and rock rap. I see it as a culture of black people who aren’t willing to be sold the mainstream degeneracy they wanna push on the black community which is centered around gangbanging and materialism but rather want to embrace Afro futurism, spirituality and expression of true self.

She is a social chameleon. Boring!

I really wish more would come out about Harvey it makes me wonder why he’s so protected and look at the people he defends! He helped trump kill a bunch of stories that could have made a difference and being the dirt bag he is he just seen $$$$$$

Ginny: Complains about book selection in the very first episode. Also Ginny: Never once reads a book all season 😆 Ginny: Yells at her mom about every choice she makes, especially about men. Also Ginny: bounces back and forth between two guys all season 😆 Jokes aside, liked the show more than I thought I would....I wish they could balance and flesh out Ginny in much better ways because they were able to do that with Georgia. I quicky found her character and backstory to be my favorite parts of the show.

Girl, eggo is generic 🤣🤣🤣 But I figured this movie was going to be bad I was thinking of watching it because of janelle monae but I'm happy I never did, I feel Like maybe there should just be a 2 year break taken on slavery movies because I don't think nobody knows how to write/direct/produce a cohesive, good one
