Thanks for this video. Very helpful. I used hairdryer to heat the tabs slightly to pinch them in and release the bottom shelf. I removed glass and asked hubby to remove all 3 tabs. My GE refrigerator glass shelf simply lays inside the frame. Never had a problem. I took these steps to make it easier to clean next time.

I have replaced mine, several times over the years. I never pulled the entire heat assembly out. I just reach inside and remove the 4 housing screws, with a rachet wrench and nut driver. Its a bitch, but works too. The top and bottom become loose enough to remove and install the heating element.
