I am the kind of person who is willing to spend the extra money; but only if I know what I am getting for the extra expenditure.

Lens wraps is a great idea!

There is no point on using an extender with a lens that already shows chromatic aberration. Absolutely every extender will increase it very badly in this scenario. But if you have a prime lens with a very low aberration or you stop down the aperture to the least aberration possible point, it makes sense to use it.

Hello, I bought a Camera R100 and a Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R. But the R100 does not have the ring configuration. 😢😢😢

I'm using this lens for Canon 200D MK2 APS-C to replace the kit lens. It's a great lens for everyday photography and travelling.

I shoot manual on the R7. Control ring sits on the lens..in theory ideal for changing aperture. Then iso can go on one of the other dials. However, I often shoot long lenses where that ring is out of reach for my hand supporting the lens. I dont know. Ill stick to the normal adapter.Btw, how awesome is it to use a speedbooster adapter on the R7 or other CF body? It makes my 500 F4 be either a 800 F4 or a 550 F2.8!

I have one of this lens. The sharpness is not that great. It isn't as sharp as my Canon 75-300mm lens.

Thanks this is useful. A second hand lens I bought would have had the z1324 pouch if it was new and I wondered if it was worth the money to get one. I will look for something better.

Since I only have EF glass which I intend to keep, it was a no brainer for me to get the control ring adapter and use it with every single one of them. That’s not even the case for the cheaper RF lenses which don’t have it. I’m using it to switch between the AF zones, because that’s a setting I’m changing a lot, and it makes it very convenient. It’s also giving me that tactile feeling the old camerass used to have, but that’s just a personal preference.

Another consideration is how much old EF glass you own and want to use with your new RF camera. If you have a lot of lenses that you like then the $100 upcharge is spread across several lenses that you now get a bonus control upgrade on without buying the similar RF lens.

If shooting portraits or other still objects it may not be needed, but if you are doing sports or are in varying light conditions, being able to quickly make a change could mean getting the shot or not.

I got the canon 70/300MM EF 4/5.6L lens since 2016 and all my photos are SHARP and I recently brought a canon 400MM EF 5.6 L And I am thinking of getting a canon 1.4 Converter and I am sure I will not be disappointed and all you need to remember is how to use your camera and That way you will get sharp photos

I'm getting the R8 upgrading from a 5d mkiii, after watching your vid I think I'll be getting that. I'm pretty sure there are less dials on the R8 compared to it's single bodied siblings.

Have you had the opportunity to test this lens on an R6 or R7 for sports photography?

I like the one that takes filters so that even lenses that don’t fit a filter can take them. I bought the off-brand Meike and it works great. Rather have two filters for every lens then a control ring

I have the same set up without the extender. 5dmk3 and 70-200 2.8. I will take your advice and skip the extender. Cropping with the Canon software yields great results. Thanks.

Easy to travel with. Took to Europe to shoot aircraft in museums. 18mm used to capture whole planes. Like to zoom up on cockpits

I’m a newbie and have been shooting with the T6 & couldn’t figure out if I should get the control ring adapter or not. Thx for your guidance because I’d absolutely regret not getting the control ring. As you explained it would make the camera function similar to the old school non-digital camera which I originally learned on, and is exactly the functionality I’ve been missing on my T6.

Adapter without the control ring. On the EOS R6 there are three dials. I use auto ISO. Shutter dial - Shutter Speed Back dial - Aperture Top dial - Exposure Compensation ISO is easily adjusted through the touch screen or M-Fn button and changed with the shutter dial.

traded my insta360 one Rs for a canon EOS 80D and this lens want to try photography as a new hobby

It dosent zoom far for me. I use a m50 2 with the adapter and i can only zoom like 5 meters. What should I do to get your kind of zoom ?
