Nice video. A well known problem on the 453 Automatic. I have the 453 five speed manual box and although there is no electrical interlocking solenoid like the automatic, it does have a weird tie into the cars computer. What happens if you try a fast manual start, ie, a foot on the clutch, have the car in first gear and turn ignition on and go, BUT itdoes not go, the engine will not start, as the cars computer comes up with a warning and tells you to put the car in neutral before you can start the car LOL. I get caught out with the warning quite often by coming out of neutral at start too quickly. Never seen it in any other manual car, but that the problem with modern car, so many un-necessary tie-ins to the cars computer, Cheers Col.
@@caledoniancol3803 ahoy Col! Thanks for that info. A wealth of knowledge. I removed the solenoid after it played up again and there has been no down side since. Be well sir. I have all the stuff for a V belt replacement so if it can be dry and not too cold this weekend I’ll get that done.

Fun fact: if you put the wrong wiper blade on the wrong side (i.e. they didn't sell the size you needed) it's possible that the plastic and metal fuse to become some sort of superpowered metal-plastic hybrid. Anyway after I ripped them apart with pliers I realized the inciting mistake had happened like four years ago 💀 sorry car. It did work though so I'm only kind of sorry.

Hi, this message keeps appearing?? All the tyres are perfectly fine. Iv reset the tyre pressure. What could be the problem?
@@Sunny_a88 ok. I had the same issue when I made this exact video … I went around all the tyres and slightly over inflated… drove for a mile or so. Then reset and it was fixed. It could be that one of the tyre pressure sensors have failed and needs replacing. About £50 is from memory. Before you spend any money you could disconnect the battery for 5 mins. Then reconnect and reset again if still showing. Hope this helps. Thanks for the comment and interaction, if not done so. This was very helpful! Thank you. I used a small bungee cord instead of a zip tie, and was able to gently unwedge the brake line from where it mounted to the metal (there were a couple thick washers) so I wasnt hitting it with my socket wrench. Also, I left the old pad in when I was using the g glamp to squish the piston down, it made a better platform than just an edge of the piston. Other than the 3 trips to hardware stores and no one having the pads in stock making my ill fitting ebay ones a major setback, it went smooth!
@@Librarycardscollect awesome!! Well done for your ingenuity 💪
This seems much easier on the ForTwo. You actually have more space to work in there and since the bonnet cover goes all the way down when opened, you don’t even have to remove it completely.
Poor quality picture and poor lightning, not easy to understand what to remove.... I found a better way to do it (for left hand drive cars) on an other video: no need to remove the side panel, just the floor panel under the passenger feet. with two screws
@@laurentmarandet4850 share it then…. Here with the wheel on the right this is how to do it. Happy to be shown another way. As for the lighting. I try my best to and you are the only person to have said this. But I accept I’m not a professional
So, after taking your criticism on board I watch the video … I believe with the settings on my device it IS GOOD picture, it IS well lit, and I do describe VERY clearly what you are removing and how. Sorry you didn’t think so but on this occasion I strongly disagree. Glad you managed to get yours sorted.

Hi I have a 451 and have 2 issues. Its a soft top and it leaks and I have no idea where. I also have the ABS warning coming on and off and again no idea why, any tips please
Any idea why this is happening?
@@jennybrandon7321 thanks for reaching out. 1) soft tops in warmer climates SHRINK if not cared for regularly. By cleaning and putting treatment on it. I’ve seen a few now. Usually the leaks in this situation it’s at the front. If it’s anywhere else then open the roof and look for any blockages in drain holes. 2) the ABS light could be a number of things. Check the simple basic things first tyres, brakes Another common issue for ABS light coking on is the “relucter rings” which sits on the axles of the car where it meets the hubs that a wheel sits on. These aren’t that expensive to get fixed allow a couple of hours labour for a half decent mechanic. Do not go to a Mercedes dealer. Look for an independent Mercedes specialist Hope that helps.
@@smarte.r.1450 it passed its MOT the garage cleared it via the diagnostic. It stayed off until I got home 🤣. The same garage fitted new tyres and never mentioned those rings
@@jennybrandon7321 I won’t comment on here about a garage’s practices as I don’t know the full picture but, deleting the code causing the error FOR an MOT is not usual practice.
