Turn it up to 11 (at least i´m tryin)
In this episode from Patrick Garage, i try to step it up a notch and sparks fly while doing it!!
I weld in some bungs for measuring to get some data.
Does my adjustment without gauges compare to a tune with?
Tune in and find out!
AFR ~11, about 12 in low region(under the powerband) slowly getting lower at peak rpm, down to ~10.7, in other words still rich
Exhaust heat, about 480c at peak power(13200rpm), and slowly diminishes at peak rpm(15000rpm)
Pipe pressure: about 0.1bar a little bit on the low side, but i try rise if up when engine is producing as it should.

空冷スクーターでの燃焼室加工を沢山やりましたが… 形状で出力特性が変わりますが… エンジン温 点火時期 排気系 吸気系(キャブ、インテーク経路形状、リードバルブ) 外気温 ブラグの形状(突き出し量、材質、熱価) 色々と絡むから難しいですね!😅 普通の人は銅の無垢の材質から燃焼室を削り出しで作らないよね!?😂 熱的の安定性は一番かな?(笑)

I saw something on facebook about the vibration direction of a karting engine (Which is up and down), and a motorcycle engine is opposite. Any problems with that?
Still not what i have seen/felt, it actually runs really smooth at high rpms.

It´s just ordinary petroleumbased degreaser.

What project is this for? Is this going in that bike you've built with the reversed tm cylinder?
Yes, my thought is to make it somewhat easily swappable =)
Why the fan directed at the bottom of the engine but not anywhere near the carb? Is that to set the carb up properly with static air? But wouldnt the carb experience a "ram-air" effect

Sounds real healthy! If you dont mind me asking what type of kart engine is it?
Thanks. It is a SGM GA207 125cc engine from the beginning. Now it is 144cc and runs on E85 fuel, de restricted with larger carburetor. But still not a pipe calculated for the engine, more to come =)
Is it the dry clutch making that clicking noise?
Yes its rattling. If pulling the clutch it disappears, racing you know :)

WOW! You should work as a teacher. I did this setup myself just last summer, and it was trial and error to get what i wanted. I used the triggerwheel that was included, and the lobe as you say was to short. I finally got it correct using that baseadvance. Doing it like you explain here would have been so much faster and easier. Thanks!

When do you plan to fire it up?
I haven´t got any timeshedule, i just go by whenever it´s ready. But i´m working on it as we speak =)
リードバルブ式に比べてロータリーバルブ式は自分で開きも閉じも自在に調整出来るから上手く出来れば吸入効率が一番良いかもね… 但し、ロータリーバルブ式はメカニカルロスが有りますが…。
I think the losses are very minimal. I can rotate the disc very freely.

Ahh,, back to overkill engine?
I've heard Alot of people try to say the higher cranking compression can hurt the high rpm power because the engine is fighting its self......I personally don't believe it and have tested it and whenever I added compression my ETA sped up every time. What's your belief on it?
In my yamaha TZR250 i had gains all over the whole rpm band with higher compression, going from 15-1 to 18-1 BUT!! People might mistake this, as sometimes getting more compression involves wider quencharea. To fast squsihvelocity can kill high rpm.

2 strokes ftw! I have a 1988 honda TRX 250r atv...I just got some billet cases and a cpi lynx 380cc big bore top end. The pipe is 2 piece built by smr and uses a vband...love this project just subbed.
