Christmas Loot Haul and Channel Update (long)
I realize I'm late to the comments. In regards to paint wearing off, it's the primer. Acrylic primer like Vallejo model air or spray can, is not suitable for resin or metal. You must use an enamel primer either through an airbrush or spray can.
Hahaha yeah figured that out the hard way
Great update! Jolly good chaps, those British soldiers looks smashing good. Big projects are always fun and that is something I also get stuck in. Cheers!
Great update! WW2 guys look sharp, and game sounded great.
World War II for the win! Those Victrix brits look nice. The German kit release they're teasing looks totally amazing. The ubiquitous IKEA Detolf cabinets. I have like 4 of them too. Keep painting!
the Ranger is back! Models look good.
Good to see an update. WWII stuff...nice! Never played Battlegroup and sound interesting in a combined arms gaming action. I'm a BIG Chain of Command gamer and will tell you what CoC brings is the platoon level of gaming. With that being said, it can easily be dialed up to the company level using BIG Chain of Command rules. With 350+ games played, about 25 were truly BIG CoC, with three players per side. If you have players familiar with CoC, then it plays well, we always had an enjoyable time. I've ran many three and four player games and worked well too. When you want to get into a BIG CoC game let me know. We're the guys in Tucson...we met at Historicon on Sundays Big Ass Ancients game.
the Battlegroup Market Garden book is really good but you definitely need to build an army intentionally for that game to fit the unit/platoon composition and have the right kinds of troops
Great work! You are now qualified to paint Vikings, Saxons & Normans. 😀👍
pretty cool to see how “medieval” a lot of the late Roman and Germanic equipment was
Lovely minis, great job!
nice looking models :)
Looking forward to the remainder of this project and the paint-a-thon the three of you will be doing later for the next Historicon appearance.
Back in the ancients saddle. :)
Always had plastic or ‘paper’ armies for travelling to away games. No way would I risk transporting metal figures through ‘butterfingers’ customs!
Trying to buy all the Aventine ranges They are brilliant Pity this range is only 5 packs But bought double and another 9 separate figures
Impressive!
Thanks for doing this - it's a really good comparison. I actually have both sets and I totally agree with your points of view. In addition to your Victrix requests, I'm also hoping for some Bactrian cavalry, with semi-armoured horses. Happy painting! Regards, Steve
Some bactrian cavarly would be nice
Were you guys at Historicon?
Uuuugh LBMS Transfers...what a process. I played in your game on Sunday at Historicon...Roman Cav General...I talked to you about an alternative, cheaper, and faster way of doing decals for shields. Hit me up when you want to get together.
Lovely miniatures They are closing next year Have to buy the full ranges
Great to hear you had a fun time all in all. But sad to hear they messed up your figures at the airport. 👍
We played in your game on Sunday morning, and it was an exceptional experience to play a rule system we haven't tried before...that's the purpose of going to gaming conventions, is to try at least something new. Your group presentation was spot on. My son Dan played the center Barbarian command, while I was the Roman Heavy Cavalry commander. The crappy flights home had us all scattered...felt light Homer's Odyssey trying to get back with all the cancellations. Broken figures and scattered riders...that sucks too. Glad you were able to go back in and repair. Looking forward to meeting up with you guys locally for some more ancients and WWII action and more. Take care.
@redmist1122 glad yall had a good time, Harry told me you were having an awesome time. I will start to re-read my chain on command rules at night in preparation for some future games
@@rangerminiaturesandgaming3647 Sounds great! We're always up for a game of CoC...and pretty much any other game.
The game was fantastic! Thanks for running it. I had a blast.
@@christoferhydos4964 I'm very glad you enjoyed it
Heartbreaking to hear what happened to your figures. I'd have freaked the F out. Obviously driving from AZ to PA is out of the question next time. Sounds like there are going to be a lot of Hoplites and slingers duking it out over a certain large chunk of rock between two continents in 2026. Glad to hear you had a good time and that you only had one "that f'n guy" at your game.
@@jvcpaints "you choose wisely" damn great guess
@@rangerminiaturesandgaming3647 I've been a junky about the Mediterranean c. 400-200 BC for about a year. I swear I've watched every documentary at least twice.
the organizational blunders from the convention kind of surprise me but it sounds like the actual games went great
My guess for 2026 is the Battle of Ipsus 301 BC. Even if that is not it, I am sure it will be impressive since the team has 2 years lead time.
@@mr___blue great guess on the multicultural clue but no, not anything successors
Great that you had an overall positive experience. :)
Eff delta my heart is broken for you. They damaged your stuff🥺
They look great
Great content! GW has been doing the fans dirty for years, that's why I got into 3d printing- Printing a Baneblade or "superheavy space tank" right now lol However, my War of The Roses project has priority.
If your going to do warhammer 3d printed is def the way to go
Romans are looking great. There's a conversion kit of the ikea cabinets that doubles up the shelves, you can even triple them up-there are videos on YT using ropewire clamps.
There is no god 😵💫😵💫freaking amazing
Really great seeing this project develop between you and Triarius. Congrats to you both, looking forward to seeing shots of the game.
Congratulations!
Look fantastic mate great detail .
Great work and yes an awesome achievement all the best at historicon
been watching for a while! they look great :)
Wow. Huge congrats on getting across the line. Safe travels and enjoy the con!
You're ready for the show. Congratulations.
Great work my friend! They look amazing all deployed in mass!
Big pat on the back! Great looking project, well done Mate 👍👍
I'll have to guess Napoleonic Ottoman. Just because it popped up in a recent conversation. :) PA in the house!
Stellar project and success. Good on you for doing the shields yourself. Both the Romans and Goths look really good. Hope your game goes well. Safe travels.
....And I hope this is not the last time we see these figures on the channel.
That is a great accomplishment! You should be proud. Have a great con.
Awesome work, painting looks amazing on all those figures. I am just finishing the last baggage stuff right now. Not sure on the final figure count myself!
congratulations and good luck to you and Triarius with the game
I think the Shieldwall unit looks good, well spaced and disciplined. In general your shields look great and really separate out the various (Roman) units
Good update, Aventine unit looks awesome especially, the hand painted shields look great. I think the battle will look great what ever we get done at this point.
This is such a great cool project, full force all in project. Not many can handle this size of a project. Casualty Markers really add that extra flavor to the gaming table. I use them . When the bodies(markers) starts to pile up on the table, the gaming become more intense and the immersion is cranked up a bit. Keep up the good work. 👍
