Where in the city is that at 19:50?
Djdon movie 😢😢😢❤❤❤
Funny to see Ferguson Avenue now…nothing left..can hardly tell. I have a special place in my heart for the Hamilton and North western Railway. I was married on the surviving right of way, just south of Beaton, just north of Tottenham on the south Simcoe Railway. Thank you for sharing this video. Nice to see trains on the southern part of the line.
I love all these trains running from village to villiage. Tracks everywhere. You were truly lucky to witness that. Thank you for all the stories.
The last footage is taken in January 1962 at blackwater
Moved from our farm outside of Gretna, Nebraska near Omaha in June of 1970 to the Sauganash Community in Chicago in June of 1970. Buses were the mainstay which I rode along with the "L"
So what is a "regular citizen"? Pisses me off when these so called officials refer to us that way...this assistant chief is a idiot
Thank you!
I bet in 1996 the D40-90 fleets moved to Malvern Division for the 91 Orion V to move to Eglinton Division.
Why load film just tap your camera on your phone and film dah

Does anyone remember L&C store at Orthodox and torresdale avenue they sold Pro Keds and Chuck Taylor and PF Flyer sneakers.
Grew up in Frankford always took the 59 trolly down to the Kiddy City on Erie Ave to get hockey sticks and blade's it was 25 cents for the fare.
Most of these places in Chicago mentioned back then are now trashy dangerous ghettos. Sad. FACT
anybody know what the black truck at 19:22 is?
There was so much more seating back then! Please bring these models back. I am so tired of being crammed in like a sardine in a tin can.
1989-2000's era before hyperinflation.
I never got to ride the 47 but I did ride the 23 end to end quite a few times. At one time it ran all the way to the Navy Yard. This was cut back to 10 Bigler in 1964. In its later years it was known as the African Queen because it traversed the North Philadelphia badlands.
I remember riding the Archer Ave Streetcar with my dad during the 1950s. I asked him why is that guy ringing the bell so often?
Mississauga's 1989 Orion Vs (8901 to 8925) were not just the first such buses to go into actual production, but they were also the first wheelchair accessible buses for the agency.
Thank you for the upload. The 50 and 47 trolley were my favorite, Unfortunately the 47 was short lived service ended in 1969 but, the 50 lasted into late 1980 and I rode it to school and later work.
I don't understand why SEPTA didn't save the surface streetcar routes. I Wish that they purchased 😪 former Torontos TTC Bombardier cars to run the surface routes.
Again no 10 trolly, west phila did not exist.
Three years after the documentary video was released, the tracks on Queens Quay were eventually extended to Exhibition and the 509 HARBOURFRONT was born in July 2000. Both routes have since operated with the current Flexity LRV streetcars from 2014. Me thinks the TTC should restore the Kingston Road streetcar line in Scarborough...
2:30 Where is the exhaust pipe
My grandfather worked on trolly in Chicago, and when the buses came out, he crashed the bus parked bus at cta and quit and went work for the Chicago school system where he retired.
Just incredible. What a way of life it must have been for all the crews of each engine. Guess you'd know the quirks of each engine . Thank you for recording & narrating for us. P.j. Calif.
D40-90 moved to Malvern Division in the 1990's
WARNING!!! Property of CANADA!! ..... As they show a film in Chicago LOL
Which decade had the best buses in your opinion?
My grandfather (an immigrant) worked for the Chicago Surface Lines from the 1920's to the 1950's. He designed this logo before he retired: The CTA Metropolitan Transit. I couldn't drag or copy and paste it here, but it's available on Google Images.
Toronto was the "GOOD" back in those days!
Bring back the steam Engine 👍🏻😎
Fantastic times it would be great to go back in time : Not a fan of the stuff today .👍🏻😎
This is quite a historic document, from a time when not many people went around carrying cameras. Thank you so much!
Impecable registro.............
I'm in absolute awe! This film shows the area a few blocks from my 50's home and high school with steam locomotives and the Rock Island RR in perfect clarity! This is astounding to me seeing something like this for the first time at 70 years old. Thanks so much!!!
Didn't the D40-90 move to Malvern in the 90's
I'm speechless....Thank you. I railroaded about 40 yrs too late
Thaks for uploading.
A fascinating history. Thank you!
I watched the whole thing. Great memories. My dad drove for mississauga transit from 1981 to 2014 Didn't see him :(
My grandpa used to take these all the time. I on the other hand live in a suburban hellscape. Thanks mid-20th century urban planners
CP and CNR should be ashamed not making any of these engines road worthy .American roads have several they have restored to service .
