    Generally, for me, dive watches always superseded any other style or type of watch. However, when the Explorer I enters in the equation, there’s no wrong choice between that watch and a submariner (or any diver). The Explorer I 36 is perhaps the only non-diver sports piece that would steal wrist time from my beloved dive watches.

    • @RSSpec
      @RSSpec 7 дней назад

      @@RabbitWatchShop it’s like you reached into my soul with that comment my brother! Couldn’t agree more. Nearly 3/4 of my watches are dive watches but it’s the Explorer that is the only one that competes with them for wrist time. It’s the only watch that I own that is not at least a 39mm plus and although I’ve never experienced a 39 or 40mm Explorer I’m convinced from my visuals of them that the Explorer is meant to be and is perfect dimensionally at 36mm! Even the current 36 Explorer (124270) seems off to me when compared to my reference 114270 they stopped in 2010 and started messing with its size. Amazing what that 3-6-9 does for the Explorer’s dial!

      I could see that with the old Subs especially if it actually was used as its intention of a dive watch which they did back then before dive computers. Just purchased the C6 tide. I like the watch, It feels right on my wrist. The bezel will be turned occasionally as I have no intention to use it for diving. Absolutely you buy a watch for aesthetics and how it fits. The fact that CW’s have a great bezel in my opinion is an added bonus. I’d guess it’s a very large majority that don’t use these watches for actual diving but always reassuring that if it can take that pressure of 30 atmospheres it’s a robust watch and will survive our 8 hours at the desk. Great question. I just looked up my CW invoices for both watches and they do show a different part number for each watches end links which CW is calling shoulders. Pretty sure the bracelet itself would interchange, but apparently there may be a slight difference in the dimensions of the end links. Perhaps CW sells that end link by itself. The slight difference may be that the Sealander is a 39mm case and even though they both are 20mm lug width, some dimension must be slightly different. Ask the question to CW via E mail, they’re good at getting back to you even if it takes a day or two. They can confirm all that and ask if you can buy just the end links. Thanks!!

      If your talking about the Zodiac I would agree it’s not worth it’s price tag. I couldn’t get rid of the 7 link bracelet it came with Fast enough!

    Watching this wearing ny blue C63 Sealander. Totally agree with all your say. I have two Omegas but have been drawn to an Aqua Terra. Visited an AD and was disappointed, the AT felt thick and clunky compared to my C63. I was in a Tudor Boutique this week looking at the new 41mm Vlacj Bay, nicer than the 54/58 I feel but at nearly £4k I didn't think it felt and better than the C63, albeit I know the movement is superior with superior maintenance costs! I think CWs secret is their legibility and clean design. Good video and a nice Sub.

    Great conversational video, Peter. Both beautiful watches, but it's impossible to not be impressed with the way the CW compares, especially given the price. I would love to own a Sub someday, but really do not see myself spending $9-10K for one. I'm in the $500-2000.00 space and am perfectly happy residing there. I really enjoy your channel.

      Thanks Pete! I agree with the $500 - 2k window, most of mine are in the $900-$1200 range which is why I love Christopher Ward so much. I’m done chasing any more high dollar ones, but I had to get the Sub just so I’d shut up about it!! Lol
