that's funny that you brought up hearing Brad's more Amuro sounding voice for the EN voice audio. Did you know in the JP audio, there is a voice acting in-joke where Ribbons was voiced by the same actor for Amuro. His name is listed as an alias name to hide that casting decision since it spoils it once he starts talking. But it makes the dialogue for Ribbons and the scenes he's in have a different feeling when you re-frame it as "hehehe it's Amuro but Evil Amuro". Because of this, that it extends to the 0 Gundam being evil RX-78-2 and then Reborns Gundam being evil Nu Gundam/Hi Nu Gundam. You can even spot key frame animation of the 0 Gundam having the same animation movement as the RX-78-2 at the very end as a wink wink nudge nudge to existing Gundam fans. If the dub staff had been more aware, they would have cast Brad as Ribbons to preserve this in-joke and carry it over to those watching the Eng dub.

Funny that you mention night scenes. I was just reading the TV Tropes entries for Akira today, and there's something in there about how animating night scenes is a lot more difficult than the daytime, in part because it requires the use of more colors. So there definitely is a reason why we may not see them as often as you'd like. As for what I'd like to see, I'll keep it simple. I want an animated adaptation of the _Blue Destiny_ games. The Blue Destiny Units, as well as the EAXM system, are frequently referenced in other shows, games, stories, etc, yet the _Blue Destiny_ story itself is extremely inaccessible because the games are stuck on the Sega Saturn (and the manga/novel adaptations of the story are also extremely old)

I'm all for what you guys have stated, especially the UC stuff i.e. those grunt stories. To touch on the WFM thing, a big explanation is needed for those corporations and lore wise. I'm pretty sure actual gundam fans are all for it. I would say the toxic fans are concerned with "other" surface content than actual lore.

Mine would be: - More of the Gundam Frames in IBO that aren't seen yet and only in name. There's already the ones revealed and used by the 7-stars as MSV's in Urdr-Hunt, with the exception of one family's G-frame that hasn't been revealed. And the #70 Gundam Seere from the Gekkou sidestory (only its shadow iirc in the intro). - More of the previous UC protagonist's fate after their main story. As Judau's the only one that got documented up til the Zanscare war and dipping out, same with Seabook for a short cameo in Crossbone Ghost. Like how Chris is doing after turning Bernie into beef meat, and Shiro's life somewhere in Asia. - Short manga on how the Turn-X came to be, some say its made by the people that left the Earth sphere with Judau in V-Gundam Outside Story or its origin being still unknown - An OVA showcasing the MSV's that Zanscare has, including their V2 Gundam clone, the Zanspine. - Also the Victory Gundam Outside story animated but at that point it'll be Uso seeing the ZZ giving its last hurrah and the golden Zong

Hey fellows, I love the podcast. I respect all your hot takes, even if I don't always agree with them. Anyway, I have a random song recommendation. It felt appropriate to leave it here, as it is the sound of Amuro tearing through enemies as if they're just in his way, and it's from the 0079 soundtrack. It was in a single scene in one episode, and I almost didn't catch it. I missed it the first couple times I watched the series. It's so visceral and raw, and it doesn't sound like anything else in the entire soundtrack. It's called Geigeki no Senshitachi. It made it into my regular playlist, and I don't ever listen to anime soundtracks. When I listen to it, it always reminds me of how you guys feel about Amuro. I hope you like it!

Narrative also had a similar interview with the director and English VA cast before the movie. Regarding the director's comment about his goal for SEED Freedom that everyone leaves the movie with a smile, I can certainly say I did. I came in expecting SEED shenanigans, and boy, did I get SEED shenanigans! Shout to the soundtrack for this film as well. The soundtrack is an absolute treat as it gives the original shows' iconic themes a majestic orchestral glow-up. It was pretty hype to hear a certain character's sortie theme as they sortied. Also, given how much the Accords' leitmotifs reference classical music, I have no choice but to ignore all ethical issues with the Destiny Plan and join their cause.

That's really shitty that you guys couldn't enjoy the movie in it's entirety. I saw the sub and enjoyed it. It really is total fan service and essentially more of the positives of the series put into a movie. It's fast paced but understandable. Looking forward to the actual review.

Why i love the impulse Its a realistic core block system Any suit with a core block system is at best a C tier model except for the impulse, every suit inculding the rx78 has a shit core block not the impulse any model ive built if it has been great, also if you had a had a endless arsenal of impulse gundams wouldnt you spam them like how shinn does in the fight against the freedom

I put this on the Facebook post but I am not sure if you guys read comments there. Sorry to hear about your theater luck. But it gave me a good laugh if that’s any consolation. I ended up traveling 3 hours to watch the dub myself. I’m happy to hear you were invested up to that point considering how you’ve felt about SEED’s progression. That was a lousy spot to pause though. That was basically the inciting incident, so not being able to see what’s next sucks. I hope you enjoy or at least appreciate what happens next once you get another opportunity. I would agree with others that I wish they’d gone the OVA route with this because it was enjoyable for me - just a lot to unpack and so much more than could have been expanded. I will say I thought it was easier for me to accept the new voice cast in this than when they redid the TV series. In the TV series they rewrote most of the dialog and a lot of it was odd or completely out of place. It’s so bad that I had to stop after ep2 and go back to the original dub. But the dialog felt more natural in the movie.

You mentioned maybe a blu ray release. But Hathaway hasn't come out with a English blu ray release, is that because of netflix
