Could you please spell the medication. I want to be sure to get the right product. Many thanks….very helpful. I personally don’t believe in holistic medication. When you have a problem you should deal with it instead of playing around with products that likely won’t work.

Another good reason to use ivermectin in the fall is because typically your chicken start molting around August and if you give them safeguard during their molt, the newly formed feathers will come in deformed sometimes but ivermectin does not cause that problem so I like to use ivermectin in the fall and safeguard in the spring. Something that I do when I worm my chickens as I wait until they are roosting after dark, it’s a lot easier to catch them that way they are so much more quiet and then I mark each one I’ve treated by putting a little dab of flour on their feathers so I can see who I have wormed. They shake it off by the morning.

A little shocked how pale your egg yokes are. They look like commercial egg yolks. Are your chickens on commercial feed? Any free range time? Our hens egg yokes are a dark orange color. I wouldn’t eat them for a while because they were weird. My wife got me to try them and they have amazing flavor. We feed with Purina layer feed, lots of meal worms and corn. And about 20-30 hours of free range time per week. We have 3 1/2 acres of pasture that they patrol for grass, clover, worms and bugs.

We had our "rainbow" flock in Southern California. Right before Martha Stewart "came out" with chickens. People were shocked. Most loved the multiple colors. A few people told me they don't eat eggs that aren't white or brown. (?????) This was on the beach down near the border; and for a while, they were very very popular! Americana, Maran, Cream Legbar, and a few barnyard mixes that had color genes. They were acutely interested in inspecting my "actual chicken" who rode with me in a stroller. I'm very old, but I was shocked how many kids had never seen/petted one! MOST foreign tourists came and told me what kind of chickens they have back home. I accidentally created a stir when she laid an egg in a mall near the play area, and a bunch of toddlers thought they had witnessed a magic trick! LOL

I hope you're doing well! I recently came across your amazing RUclips videos about colored eggs and I got really interested in the subject. I live in Ananindeua, in the northern region of Brazil, and I'm currently setting up a chicken coop. I would love to learn more about the chickens you have to produce these colored eggs. Would you be able to provide me with information about the chicken breeds you own and that are capable of producing these different eggs? I know that in Brazil, breeds like "Araucana" or "Ameraucana" are more common, but I'm open to any information you can share. Thank you in advance for your attention and I hope we can exchange knowledge about poultry farming soon. Best regards,

I love your videos about egg color and genetics. I would love to see more on this topic. It is clear you are knowledgeable and have a lot of experience. As a newbie, here are topics I’d love to see videos about F1, F2, F3…you mentioned F10 or something in your video (what does that mean?), what to cross to get specked olive eggers, what causes heavy bloom, what to do to develop the darkest marans egg, the positives and negatives of selling hatching eggs, what you feed your chickens. Thank you for considering these ideas. I’d love to learn more from you and I really enjoy your videos!

I’m looking for a chicken that lays dark dark brown eggs but produces more than the Maran. Thank you for your videos!
