Woodturning Projects That Sell - The Craftsman Rolling Pin
Today's project on the wood lathe is another project in the woodturning that sells series. As craft fair season is upon us many may be looking for a quick easy project that is a great impulse buy and stock item. This is also a great beginner woodturning project to practice tool control, shaping, and turning large flat areas. This project that sells starts with a 2.75-inch square by 20-inch-long piece of walnut or any wood of your choosing and finishes as a beautiful and fully functional 18-inch rolling pin. The rolling pin was sanded to 240 grit, burnished with 0000 steel wool and finished with a food safe finish that can be found at the link below in the description. Please consider leav...

Woodturning This Awesome Ash Square Winged Bowl

Todays project on the wood lathe was a really fun project. I have done this type of bowl once before and learned some things I was able to put into practice months later on this piece. This turning project is a lovely piece of Ash cut into a nearly perfect 6.5 inch square that was almost 4 inches thick. I mounted to the lathe to start using a worm screw and turned a tenon on the bottom for the ...

Today on the woodlathe we have the third and final large bowl blank to come from a single black walnut trees main trunk crotch section. This piece started out cut square at 17x17 inch and 6.5 inches thick. I began the turning process by first marking out a rough circle on the workpiece and roughing it round using my miter saw since the bandsaw is currently out of operation. Once the blank was r...

Woodturning A Beautiful Maple Potted Plant Cover
Просмотров 600Год назад
Today's piece on the lathe is a nice big chunk of Sugar Maple that was rescued from the firewood pile. This project began life without any concrete idea in mind other than to step to the lathe and let the wood grain and figure dictate the final shape. This piece wasn't even intended as a planter until a shopping trip a small pot was spotted with almost identical dimensions and shape to what I h...

What a horrible technique, this is no wood turning, this is scratching. I would recommend to take a wood turning course. There you will learn to use the right tools (yours are waste), how tho sharpen- and how to use them correctly. Your skills should not be copied, it will lead to frustration, surface is full of tear outs and your sanding orgy will not save it! Only the the idea with the heart is nice!
