about 80 million items placed in factorio. with a train modded to 7386.3km/h to zoetrope past them all. theres a flicker every few seconds of overlapping frames where the train turns around. this is a cost of getting the zoom out at the end. i get 6ups in game on my machine, if yours can manage 24ups then you could see it in game in 'real time'. heres the save file: drive.google.com/file/d/1M1t...

the audio is working fine. here you see audable waves drawn in 220-880Hz that are spliced together with scaled rotations of themselves, resulting in complete cancellation of the waves. leaving only the high pitched drone of the splice frequency which ive placed beyond human hearing. but then i go on to splice audable waves at 4000Hz(about the highest note on a piano) and you still cant hear any...

Damn that looks amazing. Are there any concrete plans for this project?
short answer: no ive put the relatively playable mod in the description. you can try it and see for yourself how bad this actually is. we lose soo much quality of life stuff in hiding overlays. and thats a hard restriction atm, the cameras can only be on top of everything else. i read the technical limitations of this might be gone in 2.0, then the devs can at least consider letting cams be pushed down. if it does happen then these ideas will be in the overhaul mod that i probably never finish. ill share my experiments unlicenced and hopefully other people can run with the idea. without that change i dont think this approach is going anywhere :/ only good for cinematic tours of floaty bases built with the cameras off.
@@davemcdave6849 could you change the z height of the islands dynamically instead of pushing the camera? But I totally get it, hope someone can build off this!
