I loved sonic superstars

I like your style, but I expected, by the title of the video, for this to be an essay mentioning how well the game holds up, especially when we have newer titles in the genre and franchise, I wasn't expecting full spoilers, as this is a game I played for like 2 hours a long time ago.

I wish you mentioned the plot

I love this series so much. What's funny to me is that I was drawn to the first game by seeing a trailer for the SECOND game, and it made me wonder how long I was living under a rock because of it.

I saw this game as a small clip of Spark going through a space level and I instantly fell in love with it. It was everything I wanted from 3D highspeed platforming. THANK GOD it's coming to Switch as this will be my only way to play this

I'm going to check this out on Dolphin, it looks amazing. I would love it if modern games would use ideas and aesthetics like this more often. I miss how experimental 5th/6th generation games were.

I think i would've liked this plot as a gunvolt 4 new saga thing. like they coulda tied up all the loose ends of the first 2 games, and then end it with gunvolt sealing himself away for later, like master chief or even kratos.

The most frustrating part is that you have to do a no damage run post-game 3 times with the Dragon IP to even unlock D-nizer mode where you can play as him the entire game.

loved the game especially fun playing as kirin and gunvolt. just the story definitely screams kirins story with a side of gunvolt. I do hope the ending gives it a shot for another game or anything really. Really love gunvolt series and deserves more games

been meaning to play this series for a while now, I've heard nothing but praise for it. I'll probably pick them up during the steam summer sale great video my man!

I don't know how the algorithm got me here, but I'm glad it did. Also since it seemed to slip 2E's mind in the script as to where exactly to find the game, all 3 spark games appear to be exclusively available on Steam (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) for some shockingly low prices. I haven't played it yet, but the Spark 3 also has a free demo, so if you're on the fence, you have a chance to feel the gameplay out for yourself! Edit: Yeah this game slaps pretty hard. I just finished the demo and that was a blast. Like, the aesthetics, level design, and so forth are great as well, but I think what surprised me the most was how good the button mapping is. I'm mainly a PC gamer and often get confused with button mappings (especially in games that require fast reflexes like this), but I found the layout really elegant and the menu at the bottom right doesn't hurt either. Plus the HUD is also really well put together, giving all the information without crowding the screen. I think my only major complaints are that A. I'm kinda bad at these types of games, so I struggled a bit B. the "follow jewels" ability or whatever it's called that lets you dash through a line of jewels can get wonky if there's multiple rows and C. my eyes are a little strained for playing it for an hour straight. Otherwise, I might just have to pick up this in the near future.

I almost wrote this series off because I was like "An electric jester? With a Marx from Kirby hat? That's too silly." And then I played the third game and had my socks totally blown off. More people absolutely need to play it because it is so SO good. It delivered on my expectations of a Sonic Adventure inspired game and then some.

Despite mindblowing graphical advances in games, few games have given me such a sense of bittersweet life and bustle as the OST+slowly changing city backdrop of Frostman stage.

Good observations all around, Fusion is also my favourite for much of the same reasons, followed by Dread. I especially love how it plays with its linearity. At first missions are as straightforward as following the objective marker, then as you go you have to think about how to get to the marker at all, then it just starts going off script entirely, and it's both in the narrative and gameplay, so brilliant!

To be fair, Lan never purposely sought out WWW until the end of the game. Even before then, he was just at the right place at the right time to stop them

I disagree on X7... sure, X isn't playable at the start and in a way FITS his character to finding peaceful methods instead of violence (even though the idea was executed poorly) BUT at least once you unlock X either by rescuing 64 Reploids or beat 4 out of the 8 Mavericks he's fully playable again and he's OP as the strongest character. And has the Glide Armor which is very helpful. And NG+ lets you keep him and upgrade him. GV in Gunvolt 3 is JUST a Devil Trigger as you said. As God-like as he is I prefer having him fully playable and unlocking his God Mode via upgrades or you know like how past games did with building up the Score. And GV as a character got dump down harder than X. X is still himself, fully playable and powerful, and the story doesn't dunk on his character. GV3's Story was just awful... the story of the first two and the characters from back there are just gone. What? I had a weird feeling when I saw Kirin and the blue dog which IS GV. I love Sword characters, but man... I want to know what they were thinking with this character. Even the True Ending isn't really a Happy Ending for GV and the people waiting for him and NEVER going to see him again. Not even X got screwed over that bad in and out of the X series! Honestly, I wish some of the old characters were saved like Elise. Poor girl was a victim and yet treated like a monster. She never asked for Adept powers, got bullied, developed split personalities, got experimented on, and then put down. What even happened to GV's old friends from GV1? We never hear from them again.

I played this in Afghanistan on my 3DS. I had a handful of retro games from the ambassador program or some shit and I played this for a week and loved it. I also got into Fire Emblem because of the GBA Fire Emblem game that was on there also. Something about sacred stones or some shit

Holding off on the SA-X helped add some tension to this veteran of the game. Most reviewers mention SA-X wayyy sooner. Feels like ya were trying to tell the game story while also reviewing the game.

Lol this isn't x7 which gets a ton of hate. It's not particularly divisive because it's classic MegaMan. If you don't like this game, you shouldn't like any of them

The controls were a bit clunky, but it was a great story with some really fun and challenging fights.

It's unfortunate that my first and only metroid game is Metroid prime on the Nintendo DS... I think it was then that I figured out that metroidvanias isn't my cup of tea...

I think it’s a great sequel, but I still have things I prefer in the first game. 1. The story. I like Merga as a villain, as a character more than Brevon, but the galactic scale of the original just felt more epic. 2. Carol’s story is pretty bleh. She just got rewritten into a one dimensional daredevil between entries. In the original, her jokester personality contrasted nicely with her tendency to keep Lilac grounded. “Be Miss Heropants some other time,” “This is so much bigger than us,” etc. Sure, she maybe didn’t always have the greater good in mind, but her love for her best friend made her weigh their options in a way that Lilac was unwilling to. Then you have her sister, who I thought was gonna have a reason for joining Merga that actually made some sense in terms of protecting Carol. But no, she just seriously never thought this whole time that ending the world would be bad for them, too. Good job. 3. The Jukebox is file specific, and there’s no option in the main menu to just listen to all you’ve collected across files, either. Like why? So I wouldn’t call it perfect, but gameplay wise, it’s pretty fantastic. And I wouldn’t be complaining about the Jukebox option if the soundtrack wasn’t so good!

By anime standards, wow good voice acting. By any other standard - not so much. Kudos to the guy who did the OST though. Maybe the reason I don't like the dialogue is that it just seems like it's not really needed. We didn't need it in the days of Genesis! lol I've edited my negative comment to instead pose a question: does a game like this need to have real voice actors?

Mega Man 8 is an absolute charming and visually appealing game. Truly a childhood gem. 😊 And the song Electrical Communication will forever live rent free in my mind. 🎶

I honestly feel like after GV3, Blade should take over. Blade was such an interesting character trapped behind LAIX, she's basically FEM Gunvolt, and her being the successor to GV in LAIX is the most logical way to redirect the focus from GV to Blade instead of being sidelined as a lightning dog...

The MC seems to take a lot of inspiration visually from Marina.

I totally agree with these complaints, even the X in X7 is treated better than the GV in ASG3. Inti should update with a weakened GV mode to make up for this problem, even if it didn't have a story or not be able to fight all the bosses. What pisses me off even more is that they did update a GV mode, but it didn't nerf him and still limited time, and Kirin XX and ZedΩ are much better than this.

I'm playing Mega Man 8, and I'm not really jiving with it. I don't really like the physics and movement that much and I find the level design kinda boring. I am just about to start the mid stage, so maybe later the game might impress me.

Mmmmmm yes, ANOTHER Wario-like indie game that emphasizes on speed and exploration that can allow you to rack up immensely high combos. Does this seem familiar? Because I think of towers of pizza as well as explosion and different forms of alcohol. In all seriousness, I really want to get this, and it’s nice to see a game that has qualities of Wario Land 4 that isn’t an escape sequence.

Never heard of this game and never seen your channel before. The game looks great and it feels kinda like if celeste was in 3d(there's a 3d celeste64 actually, but meh it feels wrong). Gonna try it, thanks :) Also, great vid, hehe
