Bikers Raise One Million Dollars for Charity | Forgotten Angels Campout 6
I’m 6 ft 165lbs would you say the fat boy is too big for my weight? I ride a gsxr 600 right now but looking to make the switch. Also not sure how the bike would do cruising the Cali mountains
Because the weight is low and centered, the bike isn’t too big for you. With the floor boards positioned the way they are like forward-mids, your legs will appreciate it. Since you’re familiar with riding on the side of the tire when doing some speed in the corners you’ll have no problem doing what many cruiser rides can’t comprehend initially with the fat boy and that’s getting your lean on when turning and in the corners, comparatively the fat boy needs to be leaned more in turns and corners due to its wider tires. Understand that piece of character and you’ll enjoy it on the twisty’s. Don’t like the fat tires but like the fatboy style get a pre 2018 version. Enjoy!
Why is the front wheel so small or rear so large looks odd
Buell states both wheels are 17”, the cast rims are of a different design from the rear to the front citing weight distribution advantages.
I am literally a 5'7" female medium frame and i can't see shit in my stock mirrors without moving my shoulders in. Why would they even put these useless mirrors on?!? Seems like a major safety issue....
Says anyone who has owned an iron 883! Since this video I added a Bung King brand 6” riser, that’s 4” higher than stock, it allowed me to put the mirrors back on top and have an unobstructed view above my shoulders. Good God get rid of that info screen. By the time they decide on a final final final, won’t be anything like the RS bike.
And by the time you’ve customized the bike with parts similar to or exactly like Roland Sands you’ll have spent $35-$40k, is it worth it?
It’s already going to be close to 30K, those who forked over the down payment gonna be pissed. I would be. Considering the dealer support and parts are non existing. Those who remember what happens to Buell the last 2 iterations , I am sure may remember., For the Money a HD or Indian, that’s what Buell will be facing. Personally even If I was in the Market I would not do it. I expect Buell short lived attempt. I hope I am wrong would like to see another option. Time will tell. Wish them luck
I never used to wear any gear. Now I always do. A white or silver mesh jacket in the summer is sometimes cooler than a T-shirt. Reflects the sun. Riding sneakers. Riding single layer jeans. Full face helmet. I don’t trust other drivers. I don’t want to spend months of the riding season recovering if I go down. To each their own.
Sounds like a great way to be prepared in the event you go down, regardless of the circumstances. Thanks for sharing!
I was torn between the Road King and the Heritage. I demo road both and liked the Heritage better but not by much. I got a hella deal on a 23 Heritage in March. There were no Road Kings with in 5000 miles at that time so getting one was not going to be easy and no deals to be had. The Road King is awesome but looks strange when you remove the bags where the Heritage looks clean. I traded in a street Bob 107 and really like the softail line and the shock hidden under the seat. I hope by the time I pay off my Heritage Harley has put the 117 liquid cooled M8 in the Road King and put a similar gage like on the Lowrider S or Nightster special, just a little bigger to go right were the existing gauge is.
When you start comparing the two bikes piece by piece in different lights and by different angles either can come out ahead. Your point about running without bags is true. The convertibility of a Road King is there as well..Change out the nacelle on the TK, cover the tank gauge with a plate, add a dual gauge handle bar bracket with speedo and separate tach, remove the bags and you’ve got a bike that resembles an FXR. For the past couple years RK specials have been scarce and that scarcity brings about price protection at the dealer level and higher resale value. The heritage is a good value and arguably HD’s best offering for most riders.
She lives at 6 and above
She does!
I hit a tree a few years ago, ragdolled through a median, and my bike was in oncoming traffic. My leg was messed up pretty bad, and I spent most of the year between saving my leg, and learning to walk again. Walker, then crutches, and I still have a cane I sometimes use. It's was nearly a year later, my bike was finally repaired, and I was healed enough to get back on. I figured I had to get back on for at least one ride, even if I never rode again after that.. just to say I won. I was super cautious, took it slow, just around the house, then to the gas station, then the grocery store, then to work. I don't have the same feeling in my leg, and it took over a year to raise my arm level with my head. I had to relearn how to drive my pick up, the peterbuilt I drive at work, and then finaly my bike. Today, I am doing livestreams from a Harley-Davidson!!! It takes a while, but those butterflies are real. Good luck, and glad you are ok.
Wow, you came back after tremendous adversity, I applaud you! The best of success on your channel and journey.
I was nervous and tentative for a few montns after my little accident. Its natural. Glad to see you recovering well.
Thanks I appreciate you sharing your past experience. I’m good on my softail I probably just need more seat time on the Snakester, this should be a good weekend for it!
I have a 1994 Electra Glide classic with 126000 original miles. It has never been torn down. It makes good power, rides well, stops well, and doesn’t leak oil. :):)I will ride her until I die.
That’s awesome! How does it do on the interstate? Is the sweet spot 70-75 mph?
@@KennyQuestShow Yes sir!!! The sweet spot is 70-75 mph. It probably could do a bit more. I don’t because of my personal limits.
Never had an accident so far, Praise the Lord. What I would recommend is going back as if you would start off new. Get familiar with the Bike again. Parking Lot practice, slow speed manouvers, emergency braking and swerving.... just the stuff the YOU can do. Accident involve other people sometimes and its out of your control. You can just do everything to mitigate the damage. I am a german and i dont see people here without FULL GEAR. Its very, very rare to see the cool boys with naked arms and a pisspot as a helmet. Its their skin and their life though. But for us as a country, its taking care of their medical bills if they need to be spoonfeed afterwards in a nursing home.... Thats part of medical insurance here, where we all parttake. So just do what you can that you cant blame it on yourselve. the rest is well in Gods hands and he is more than capable to keep you safe if its his will. God bless to the fellow riders over the drink
Great advice!
This is why you do not buy a demo bike. Youll be pretty upset when you have to replace the clutch right after you buy it smh.
The factory truck tour demos are not sold at dealerships
I've got a guy that comes into the shop that i'm sure he's got a death wish. Dood has crashed a CBR1000RR/R, GSXR1000, R1, R6 and ZX6R. Somehow never hurt badly, even though he was doing at least 120mph. Guy's the poster boy for gear saving lives. He's one of those guys you see in a full suit on the road, and boy does he use it. Just buys another bike and hops back on. He is also like 24. I take a tumble like that on my FZ1, I ounno if i'm getting back up.
If Rossi can withstand crashes on the track I guess as long as no one runs you over while your sliding a full gear with air vest will protect you. Kudos to him. But he needs to keep it on the track those bikes you mentioned can do 90 in first gear.
I got back on my bike and rode home 18 miles with 6 multiple fractured ribs and a fractured scapula. I wasn't going to leave my bike! 😜
Hell yeah 🙌🏼
The movie is just a piece of 💩. Very disported !
Hollywood Doo Doo is it? 🙂
I went down on my 05 GSXR special Edition on august 9th 2021. Shattered my entire left foot. I was wearing my helmet, riding jacket and pants. Took me till June of this year to finally get back on two wheels.
Almost three years, wow. But you’re back now! Enjoy the ride, stay vigilant!
@@KennyQuestShow thanks. I had to learn how to walk and balance myself. Long recovery.
@@Your_Snkr_PlugYour perseverance is awe inspiring my man!
I was recently in a motorcycle accident a couple weeks ago. I was riding with a buddy to the mountains and then went back home and somebody failed to yield pulled out and I blacked out. I didn't remember anything. It was just a green light and then I woke up on the ground. I broke my arm nose and got a concussion and when they put me into the ambulance I got more worried about my friend. I just kept asking. Is he okay? Is he okay? He was fine only I was hit now I'm just playing the waiting game so I could get back on two wheels
Ah man, all accidents are tough but when it’s at the hand of someone else’s failure to use due caution that is what we all fear. I’m glad you were able to walk away from it. I hope you can transition back smoothly and without too much apprehension, thanks for sharing my man!
My best friend's dad layed his bike down in Cancun and a truck ran over him. He doesn't ride anymore. He's dead.
That’s horrible. Sorry for your best friend’s loss.
What exactly didn’t you like about the new transmission?
In comparison to the 2024 ultra limited and the 2023 Street Glide (same transmission) the feel has changed and is much smoother shifting, it feels lighter, less resistive to the touch at the foot controls.
Had a person come to a complete stop on me on the freeway going around 70mph in no traffic. I slid into her going 20-30mph, my foot got stuck in the wheel and she dragged me for 10 feet. Reason she dragged me is she didn't feel me crash into her. I also knew she came to a complete stop because she wasn't moving then she was and I was attached. I had a fractured leg, a cut open foot (her tire burnt into my foot), road rash on my ass. I healed and now have a vulcan 900, I am only overly cautious when I see people's brake lights.
Also would like to add it was on a transition so there was only one lane.
I can see why brake lights would give you anxiety. Today my anxiety seems to return when I ride the bike I had the accident on, working through it the best I can.
@@KennyQuestShow back to the parking lot. I went from riding around town to riding 2 hours to Born Free CA (San Diego to Long Beach/Santa Ana moutnains). If I didn't have my buddy with me, probably would have been super cautious. He pushed me to split lanes again and trust the road a little bit more :D
@@dadyking1210there’s so much truth in that, I did a group ride and had little to no memorable anxiety issues, I felt safe in the pack.
What happens if you lay one of these demo bikes down?
In the parking lot or at slow speeds, nothing. High impact situations, the waiver form you sign gives them authority to sue you.
Seems like for some folks, as time goes on you go more into autopilot for certain things. I’m still in my first few months riding so I’m still on high alert and being extremely cautious. This is a good reminder to not forget about the basics. Even still, shit happens I guess. I enjoyed the video, subscribed.
Welcome and thank you for subscribing! You are correct, you tell yourself you’re a good rider, perhaps you think you are better than you actually are and you might be, but with an equipment change here and there the bike feels different then you go down and all of a sudden things feel differently and your confidence is waining. Good thing I have another bike to evaluate myself with. Some of it is in my head.
@@KennyQuestShow Proverbs 16:18-19 King James Version (KJV) Pride goeth before destruction, And an haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, Than to divide the spoil with the proud. Here is some wisdom. Personally I think you should never lose the respect (not fear) of what you are doing, which is a more dangerous activity then others. And dont get to comfortable with the skills, because they can only go so far. What I love about riding the most is, that in todays traffic here in europe, where its really crowded... you have to be 100% focused on the driving, which is actually a big mental relief from other things. It keeps your problems away for the time youre in the saddle and you cant let your mind go elsewhere. God bless
I dumped my road bike twice hard but, I fixed it and got back on. My dirt bike I drop routinely, yesterday it went over some rocks and into a ditch. I pulled it out, hopped on and rode out. That was enough fun for the day. I do ride nearly every day. All gear, all the time but, I've still been injured post the road crashes.
Looking forward to riding on dirt!
I think I am full up on accidents when I rode a 1974 Yamaha Enduro 175 in my late teens. The accidents were all on dirt though.
Dirt is a good place to learn and to go down on!
I've been down twice, no real injuries either time. Now I wear all the gear [except I still wear a half helmet] and really pay close attention to everything. I'm just a cautious rider. After each accident, it wasn't but a couple of days before I threw a leg over again - but on my Vaquero, I never felt right on that bike again... got rid of it and got my Street Glide. Problem solved :D
Sometimes a bike gives off bad mojo after a mod or crash. I’m trying to get to where I originally was on the Snakester (my sporty) it’s been a process. Thanks for sharing!
@@KennyQuestShow Yeah, definitely a process. Good luck!
@@RoadReality thank you!
the first deer I hit four years ago I wasn't shook up, just pissed. The one I hit last year I don't remember before or after. Three days later when I woke up with a room full of family and in one hell of a lot of pain I was a very confused individual. Two weeks in the Hospital and months of trips to the Doctor. About six weeks later I looked at and bought my next ride. I left the mans place after dark and about a half mile down the road I came about as close as you can get to hitting a deer without actually hitting a deer. That anger thing quickly resurfaced. Will I ever forget my accidents, I see deer all the time, they wont let me. Does it mess with my happy time, on every ride. Riding can clear the mind, but sometimes I am just left with my thoughts. Nice to hear you are okay and back in the saddle again. Ride safe, but sometimes that still isn't quite enough to get ya home.
I call mine the dark passenger, she rides my bitch seat, whispering through the comm, in the city she’s nagging about the texting drivers, in the country it’s watch out for the deer. She keeps me on the edge. I get it. But I just want to ride. It’s one reason I like group rides, sometimes I find it more relaxing. Much respect for you staying the course. Thank you for sharing your experience.
When you was talking about riding on rural country roads and having to worry about deer; I immediately thought about the big metal bumper trucks usually get put on and wondered how a sportster or backyard Harley build would look like with a diamond plate bumper on the front. For weight saving, someone could use diamond plate aluminum like what tool boxes for trucks are made of. Lowes sells that material in aluminum sheets of various thicknesses and someone could practice welding it together to make it fit to their preference. I would actually want to try that as a custom project. 😂🤣😂
You probably could bang that into a fender or create a bracket and mount it as a plow like contraption. It’s giving me Dirtster scrambler sporty vibes 🤘🏼
One wreck, one back in the saddle (kinda prefer to say I was hit since it was very much the car's fault). I was out for 2 years, 1-1.5 of that basically required medically. It taught me a lot of things, but the most impactful one was that I'd rather accept the risk of riding than not ride. Once I got back in the saddle I doubled or tripled my yearly mileage and really got involved in the community aspect of it. Glad you're back! Cheers!!
Wow, so you triple downed! That’s inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
@@KennyQuestShow heck yea man. I had a pretty soft bucket list of bike things I never did prior. Afterward, I did my first Saddlesore 1000 some months later, and just completed a Bun Burner Gold (1500 in 24 or less) a few weeks ago to get my Mile Eater certification. I have some mile monsters to thank for being a good/bad influence depending on your perspective, but as my wife said when I started longing for a bike again "you're a biker, get a bike". What's that saying? Find what you love and let it kill you 🍻
@@Chasing.Adventure agreed. But slowly and gently over a long distance, I have miles to crunch.
Looks like it saves the entire weight of the bike from slamming down on your leg in a low side
I’ve low sided twice, once in this video at low speed the other at about 40mph both times the bike slid away from me or I it. So it appears that way
Glad to see you back on two wheels. I think you’re right in that the best way to get through an accident mentally is to get back on as soon as you can. Overthinking is the enemy here.
Overthinking is the enemy. Stay vigilant but no stinkin overthinkin!
I had a lady change lanes with me next to her at 65mph, when I stopped rolling down the highway without my bike, and I woke up, the only thing left of my shirt was the collar, had a lot of road rash, and pinched nerves in my neck, it took about 2 months to repair my bike and I was back on it, but I was very paranoid about people coming up next to me for a good month.
It sticks with you. There’s being vigilant while riding and then there is your mind doing extra things like controlling your fun as a safety switch. I’m more uneasy on the bike that I went down with, but I’m hoping I’ll shake it, it’s been two months now. Did not know that story about you, glad you recovered and powered through it!
glad you are alright man.
Thanks man, I appreciate you!

Hey Jerry! 👋🏼
Grey is the cheapest paint color to manufacture. Increased profits.
HD’s hard wired strategy, more paths to profits.
@@KennyQuestShow Too bad, rather than building better bikes more attuned to what the future will bring. I moved to Moto Guzzi, even this small company is moving forward with the V100 platform. Harley started to show some promise with the Pan America but that seems to have stalled even with so many calling for the Bronx to be built.
@@karlbishop7481 The V100 platform and the Revolution Max platform are a good comparison. The M8 in the standard and the v85 platform are a better comparison.
That WAS a collectible bike - until somebody bro'd it out with cheesy mods. They only built 3,000 of those. I own the '95 version in black and charcoal, no broage.
I didn’t seek to buy an unnumbered limited edition, in fact it was advertised as a Fat Boy and I’m not sure if you’ve seen any follow up videos but I think I finished it out with respect and it’s a nice daily rider at this point.
Heeyyy am in Orlando too with a stage 1 883. Let’s ride sometime!
Awesome let’s do it! DM me on IG
I don’t have a Harley, but I do run on carbs! I’ve found from personal trials and tribulations that non ethanol is the way to go with any older bike running on carbs, and tbh probably just overall with any vehicle. Ethanol=corn=crap in gas=clogged carbs. All your standard options contain up to 15% despite octane levels. As you said at 5:00 running standard gas increases fuel cost over time as well as maintenance cost. Since switching to non ethanol, my gas mileage has nearly doubled 🤩 .50 more per gallon is worth it when it goes twice as far!
Increased gas mileage is a huge benefit!
I own a 20 Road King Special and love my bike. With that being said, I had was able to test ride the Springfield Dark Horse at Americade this year. I didn't know much about this bike and I agree with Kenny's observations. The Springfield feels lighter and more nimble and the 116 rocks. I appreciated the sport mode, which the RKS doesn't have. I can't compare stock suspension because my bike had the Revo A's shocks installed when I purchased, but the Springfield suspension seemed good on the test ride. The exhaust note is good for stock. I think the remote locks for the bags are a nice touch as well. The stock bars on this bike are more comfortable than RKS stock bars, but I would change these out in favor of apes or T-bars anyway, along with the Springfield stock mirrors (they are functional, just not a fan of the mirror styling). This bike was a pleasant surprise and put a huge smile on my face test riding this bike! If you are considering a Road King Special, I would definitely check this bike out.
Thank you for sharing your experience on the Springfield looks like we came to similar conclusions. It’s a nice bike.
Good Review. A sequel huh? Interesting. I'd call it "The Bikerider" (singular) and follow the career of that violent, resentful kid who took over. He IS the Darth Vader of this storyline afterall. 🏴☠️ 💀😎
He definitely is. Some say the kid is based on Taco Bowman the man who assumed control of the Outlaws in 1970.
I have a 23 Heritage and I love it. It's my first bike. Mine is in gold. I just put a sissy bar on it. the only negative thing I'd say about it is that the saddle bags are a little small, and I can't really fit my helmet or an extra helmet in it. I'd have to jam it in the bag in order for it to fit.
Prospect Gold, that’s a great color! Yeah all Harley bags are narrow. You can buy a tour pack that installs to a quick release bracket where your sissy bar is now and that will hold most helmets. www.harley-davidson.com/us/en/shop/tour-pak-luggage-heritage-style/p/53000598
I thought you were talking about OLD bikes, I have & ride a 1976 FXE Shovelhead. Am 2nd. owner, no idea of mileage, cheap aftermarket speedo's. Bought as a basket piece for $1100, but she has never left me on the side of the road. Been riding since 1964, first Harley in 1974, Sporty XLH 1000. Last time in Sturgis was 1981 on a 1971 FLH - those were the days - could camp in the city park for FREE !!!, 2 eggs, hash browns & coffee $2.50. That won't even get a cup of coffee today !!! God only knows how much money I have in her, custom parts, but motor is still stock 74 inches, and frame has never been cut. Still puts a smile on face just looking at her !!!!
That’s awesome! Goes to show that you can get into Harley’s affordably and don’t need to play the upgrade game. For this video I decided old bikes were defined as the age when warranty companies and most HD dealers consider a model year unserviceable, which is 20 years. My softail being 28 was the example. These days shovels are like the Panhead finds from the 90’s expensive and uncommon. Congrats on keeping yours on the road!
It makes sense why they named the movie the bikeriders and not the vandals. Its more about the lifestyle of bike riders in the 50s
A book that Danny Lyon published in 1968 and updated in 2003 with a second issue is called The Bike Riders and the movie is based on that book.
I tend to go to the range while I'm in Florida during the FA campout, if your on that side when we go.
Nice!
It will be nice if Harley adds cruise control and USB port. And lastly the logo instead of painting sticker make more nicer metal pin! That's all my wishes
Good suggestions!
That’s a dirty Sportster
Can’t keep it clean
Well…. That’s coming off of my watch history 😂
🥺 sorries 😎
You've got to explain the tires losing grip on hot pavement. You're the first person I've ever heard say that. Only time I've heard this, and experienced this, is at the race track. and those tire temperatures far exceed what you would ever experience on the road. And therefore, reaching even higher temps than normal on the race track. Strictly talking about tire grip, tires lose grip from the carcass not being up to temperature, air pressure, and the tires losing their oil from aging (especially in direct sunlight).
Most tire and brake issues in hot environments are related to improper inflation levels and deformation of the brake pad. Tire pressure can grow and a tires elasticity can lead to deformation. Because friction coefficient is changed in heat brakes can be less effective at higher temperatures. You should always refer to your tire manufacturer’s recommendations for care and maintenance. -source Dunlop
@KennyQuestShow Your statement in your video is quite vague and misleading, as you gave no explanation and education. Most people don't check their tire pressure. And most will never come close to a point of overheating their brakes on the road. Some clarification would be good.
@@2WheelsSometimes1 I appreciate your comments, you’re right I’ll improve on the next one
@KennyQuestShow Thanks for sharing your source. And we do enjoy your videos and what you do share. Hopefully we'll meet you at F.A. some time.
@@2WheelsSometimes1I look forward to it! Please introduce yourself at the next FA!
Just wanted to say, what a fantastic review. Really great info. Thank you!
Thank you, I really appreciate your feedback!
@@KennyQuestShow no problem, I watched a number of reviews and yours is the best. So many others just go over the same boring stats off harley's website . Cheers!
