DANGEROUS GRASS SEEDS
Просмотров 7253 года назад
It’s that time of the year (which we love more than any other) where we can once again enjoy walking our dogs in the fields and meadows. We also all know to use some kind of protection, preferably natural, on our dogs for ticks and fleas as well as other little pests. But what about those sneaky grass seeds? Are grass seeds really harmful to dogs? 00:00 - Introduction 00:49 - Who I am 01:48 - H...
WHEN TO WALK YOUR DOG DURING THE HOT SUMMER
Просмотров 3643 года назад
When it comes to summer walks, we have to adjust our walking routine. Sometimes it can be difficult “to explain” to your dog… most of the year, I walk my dogs around 4-5 pm. But during the summer when it’s too hot, I walk them early morning or late evening. Intense exercise in high temperatures and direct sun can be very dangerous for our dogs! 00:00 - Introduction 00:46 - Who I am 01:43 - Inte...

5 SOOTHING FOOT BATH RECIPES FOR YOUR DOG'S ITCHY PAWS
Hi, I'm a new airedale owner and is learning the art of stripping since I want to do it myself. This is the best video out there. Thank you so much for sharing your work with us. Your methodical way and tricks will help me lots when trying to achieve the standard appearance. I will rewatch this many times and share it to my airedale community. Greetings from Sweden
What tools are needed to hand strip?
Amazing video. Thank you for not rushing....
Best handstripping video on RUclips. Thankyou
Excellent video. Thank you a lot.
Thanks a lot
This is just a talking video
Can you please post the link for the antiseptic spray? Also, what is the best way to find a real handstripper in NY?
I will also add that humans take apple cider vinegar for treating calcification in their body, so this can most likely help with the spine calcification that dogs experience in old age.
Great video, thank you. I will try it. However, I have a question. What about my dog who is 32kg? A golden retriever. Is 1 tablespoon the most I should give her or more?
First, I think your videos are wonderful. Clear, instructive and I appreciate you doing a comparison. I have two Welshies, a 4 1/2 yr old female (a rescue, literally) and a 3 month old male. I groom my dog because it really has improved the bonding; she trusts me more and the cost. Where I live, it is about $100 for a groom. From an appearance standpoint it is worth it but, it can become an expense that is difficult to bear when you're retired. I have more time than money. Since I started grooming my female about 2 years ago she has lost that black saddle - it has turned gray; I want that back. As you can tell she is not a show dog but just a wonderful dog, very smart and very loving. My question: If I let her hair grow out to an inch or more and use the Coat King then clip to 5mm, will this, over time, bring the black back to the saddle? I don't mind doing the stripping if this will yield better results.
Thank you for your lovely comment. In the most cases the Coat king can help improve the colour. You could also try to rake the coat once a week with a carding knife. There are many factors that affect the coat colour and texture... genetics, food, cosmetics, and if they are neutrated. Hope it helps :)
That looks to be uncomfortable for the dog
how much water and apple cider vinegar should be used?
Hi Jitka. Just watched this video and it brought back great memories of the care you gave Hector over the years. We hope you are having a great life together in Slovakia. Niall & Chris
How long does it take to get this dog completely naked? Thanks for the detailed description!❤️
What an incredible transformation. Thank you so much for sharing, what a beautiful dog.
Super,krásná práce.Škoda,že není video v češtině.Jste vážně moc šikovná.Děkuji.
Dekuji!
What is the chalk used for??
It helps you to grab and hold the hair
Where can I buy your products?
I found this very helpful. I've watched alot of videos but this one goes through the process slowly while explaining the reasons and purpose. Very well done! Thank you
😮 absolutely ridiculous. You do not bathe your dog's hair the same way you wash your own hair. Dry your dog the best that you can. Then take it outside and let them shake the rest off. When they come back inside give them one more rub down with a fresh dry towel. Then a very good brushing.
And forget the hair dryer
That's your opinion, and that's fine 🙂
Wow, great information. Thanks.
Hello this video is very useful thankyou. I just have a few questions. After this groom how many weeks was it until her next groom? And then how often did you groom her doing the rolling strip instead? Is there a video of when she next came in and what you did on her /how her coat was looking? Thankyou!
You are an artist!
I don't understand - handstripping and rolling are described as the same thing, so why do you roll every week yet handstrip only a couple of times per year? there must be differences? Also, would you card before every handstrip? This topic is very confusing to me!
Handstripping is the practice, while rolling is a coat type. If you only handstrip every 3-4 months, the dog will have a longer, less structured, fluffier coat (they often use this schedule for puppies who are getting used to grooming). If you handstrip every 1-4 weeks, this will give the dog a not too long or short, varied coat that reveals depth in their coloring, this is called a rolling coat. Hope this helps 👍
Great video , very informative. Can I ask where you get your tunic from ?
Thank you, I really enjoyed watching your videos, x
I am a professional groomer starting my journey to being able to hand strip my clients and I must say your videos have been a major help! I am stripping an Irish Terrier for the first time tomorrow and I feel prepared thanks to you!
Thank you so much for your kind words 😊 good luck with the Irish
Great video. I love how you work. How often irisch Terrier should be stripped ? Thank you
Thank you! Show dogs every week, pet dogs usually between 6-12 weeks. Depends what the owner wants ☺️
@@vitacanis1117 thanks a lot for your answer. I'm a dog groomer. I have a beautiful Airdale. She comes every 10 weeks and is very difficult to stripped. At the beginning, when she was looking for a groomer, she had a longer break and it was easy to stripp. The owner takes great care of it and won't every 10 Weeks stripped. Is it better to suggest, to try 12 Weeks? About terrier group I'm learn everything from you. You Airedale Videos are the best.
Happy to help! It is easier when the coat is blown, or almost blown, so maybe in 12 weeks it would be easier for you
Thanks a lot for such incredible useful videos.
You are welcome! Thanks for watching 😊
I recently bought and used Vets Best flea and tick spray to combat a small amount of fleas on my dog. It contains peppermints and eugenol oil. Shortly after, I found many online reviews and sources saying peppermint oil is toxic for dogs.
Don't worry! It would be only a small amount in the spra; it can be toxic when used undiluted or / and digested
@@vitacanis1117 thank you! That makes sense, considering there’s only about 0.30% in the solution.
How long did the full hand strip take ?
I think it took me 4 hours
@@vitacanis1117 Thank you very much, I've got one to do soon. I've stripped many small and medium terriers/dachshunds but this will be my first Airedale.
That's exciting@@SusieRetallick I hope you enjoy it! The principle of hand stripping on all of them is the same, Airedale is just much bigger lol
@@vitacanis1117 Thank you 😁👍
What solution do you use, Jitka?
which kind of the cutting machine do you use
I am sorry, but should this not be done by a professional groomer, especially since you are using a knife? And you are very close to her anus. I would feel very uncomfortable doing this with a knife.
I see your movement, but are you using your thumb also to pull the hair, or is the knife doing all of the work?
Jak je pejsek starý?

I have. 10 month old cairn. Thank you for the video! I don’t know what to do with her legs. Scissor?
Thank you 😊 hand strip some hair, and you can tidy up with scissors. But mainly hand stripping, this way you will keep a good colour & texture. Hope it helps 😊
Thank you. I love the facts. ❤❤❤
Bravo! Very helpful video :)
Hai can I ask? Apple cider or vinegar was killed on ..worms?
I don't know if apple cider vinegar can be used for worming
Excellent information!
Wow... I always consider hand stripping to be an form of art. This is amazing! And just out of curiosity, will dog coat texture change when switching from hand stripping to clipping? And will the color of the coat change as well as time passes?
yes, the coat woule change. It will become softer and paler. If you rake the coat before clipping it will keep a pretty good colour and texture, however not as good as when hand stripped. However, it's affected by breeding as well
Which clippers are you using?
Heiniger
So all Airedales hate people messing with their feet, evidently?
I don't think so 🤣
A handstripping is making with the hands, not with tools.
When hand stripping we are pulling the hair by thumb & finger, stripping knives, or stripping stone. No power tools are used. If you prefer to do hand stripping just by thumb & finger that't up to you
Should all terriers be carded? I have an Irish Terrier, who is a pet, and I do my own hand stripping. Should I be removing her undercoat by carding her. I was under the impression that the darker undercoat is what is seen once the longer dead hairs are stripped out and should not be removed, but I may have misunderstood. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
It's up to you ☺️ when you card the undercoat out the new layer if the coat grows faster & also the coat looks harsher and is darker
Hi. It's a way my airedale eats everything but daily food. Blackberry, piece of cheese, something it stole from kitchen, fly and a lot of other things.
🤣👍
What a sweet little devil 😻
