In this video I sit down to share with you my Top 10 Contemporary Tarot Decks, as my VR to the lovely @mervatalamegyptianmystic9812 , who invited me to share my favourites in pip-style tarots.
I also decided to rank the last 5 decks I feature in this video from the 5th spot to the first! ✨

OHHHH ! what a wonderfully refreshing look at Pip Tarot decks.....I find it so easy to focus on my decks with an older provenance and am missing out on all that some newer decks have to offer ! As you know TDM is my first love but a hybrid pipish deck I always enjoy is still the beautiful Pagan Oherworlds ,I tend to read it pip style. Of course my wonderful ,wonderful Francois Carrajat deck holds top spot for its beauty , and the wonderful sentiment in which it was gifted me !!!!! Thank you my dear friend ❣ 🥰🤗
Yes! Exactly! For me too, it’s most comforting and familiar to focus on reaching for the historic tarots only.. but with tags like this one, I’m challenged to reflect on my contemporary decks, which I also love and am inspired to keep on my ‘front’ shelves.😊 I’m so happy to know you love the charming Carrajat! It’s definitely in my top 10 historic tarot, and very high in my Top 10 too..with perhaps only one or two other TdMs ranking higher.. 🤔 🤭
Hello Mascha! Thank you so much for showing the deck so well! As well as the extras... very interesting to compare the scans of French library with the printed cards. We see a subtle difference in colors and contrats ( especially on the faces of the characters) wich is exactly what i am looking for in a restauration : upgrade it without changing the spirit of the original creation ! Always a delight to listen to you Mascha! I could feel the excitement from France while watching ☺️. You are the angel of Tarot lovers and collectors ! Thank you so much ❤

I liked seeing your favourites so much! That Benedetti deck is so so special and beautiful. 😍I love and work with several of these - I have a Trionfi (paradoxical), Antique Anatomy, and of course La Corte dei Tarocchi which is just the most charming. My current favourite modern Marseille are Marseille Prendre Vie and the Gay Marseille. For pips that aren't Marseille, I also love Anima Mundi, OceanDry Tarot, Soul Cards Tarot, and many others. I have I think found 'fancy pips' to be my favourite of course.

I really liked Marco B's three alternatives, and the way the top of the tower resembles a crown. Seems like ego death being depicted in a very clever way. Also especially loved the surprise of your beloved pets showing up right at the end. It looked like they had been catapulted, and would land right in your arms. 💖

The ego respect, symbolised by a falling crown is important to me, and teaches humility too. As for my darlings 🐶🐱, yes! That’s exactly what I had in mind! A thrilling but safe leap for them! 🥰

Refreshing! I’m so jealous of the Foil Benedetti. Surprised to see some we share a love for that I also have in my collection-the Robledo, PipSpeak, Trionfi. I may try my hand at this but might have to combine Marseille style and pips as I don’t know if I have ten of either.

I really loved the Pholarchos Tower Card Mascha.. never seen that deck before 😍 I looked for it on Etsy and it says they don't deliver to the UK 😖 so frustrating. So many excellent decks are hard to get here.. or are very expensive to ship. Lovely to listen to you as always 😘🌻

I don't know why, but I have always liked the towers that have poka dots on them... and I like the Flemish Tarot, LA Foudre. So many good Towers! This is going to be hard to choose! 😅

Love your Tower cards. I think the Tower can be positive or negative which interests me. Upheaval is often needed, but sometimes devastating. As somebody who loves change, it's not as challenging for me as some! That the Tower erupts and reveals the heavens (star, moon, sun) in the cards that follow is intriguing. before I had to change rentals (quite abruptly actually), the Tower card would appear in my spreads almost on a daily basis (this happened 2 weeks prior to my having to search for a new place...). also, the Tower came up in my montly spread to indicate the massive earthquake in Turkey that happened in Feb 2023 (while I was not travelling there and wasn't physically affected by it, the news left me speechless!)... the Tower comes up rarely in my personal readings, but it can also indicate a massive revelation, or information overload, burnout, etc. thank you once again, love your videos ❤

hi Mascha, wonderful choices, my top 5 would be: 1. The Witch's Garden Tarot (this Tower card gives so much hope that somebody, almost miraculously, will save you) 2. The Little Prince 3. Golden Wheel 4. Terra Volatile has a second card called Hubris, which I love 5. Morgan Greer, Aquarian, and Golden Art Nouveau occupy the same place :)

btw, I really like the Devil and the Tower that Atanas Atanasov reconstructed for the older Visconti Sforza deck, released by Lo Scarabeo around the 2000s. He recreated the Devil and the Tower using as reference the Rothschild sheet :)

Oh, I hear you, dear Jonathan.. however the decks from Agnes are wonderful shufflers! I’ve had the Jean Noblet, Besançon and Jean Payen from her for a few years now and have been riffle-shuffling them since day one - those cards are SO very sturdy & I feel they become even more special with extra shuffling.. 🥰.. but yes, I am very aware many people avoid the riffle and are much more careful with preserving their cards.. thank you so much for stopping by.🙏💚
