Beautiful and sad
I love Coke Porter songs, they are so clever, cute, funny and naughty.
Want to see White Knights B and Gregory Hines do soft shoes and tap dancing a team!
I wish we could bring back the incredible talents of all these great. Lerner was truly genius.
I will never forget…I Remember Mama
Karen Cooper, Fairgate, MacKenzie... You sing, Girl!!
Charming. Charming. Charming. You just can't use any other word to describe her. A lovely soul and devout Catholic. She went to mass and said her Rosary. I would say bless her but there's no need for WE have been blessed with her presence.

Robert Goulet! Robert Goulet! My God, Robert Goulet!
Where were Julie Andrews, Audrey Hepburn and the other stars? Michelle Lee was the best they could do?
Michelle Lee was a Broadway legend. Quit mithering...!
Greatest!
CLARIDGE'S HOTEL--NOT CLARIE'S--YOU MORON!
He was brilliant
Simply gorgeous, a true legend ❤❤
My father was there that night he was in Vietnam 67,68,69 there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Both RIP Thanks For The Memories.
An amazing composer and lyricist.....who might have, if born 50 years later, been able to be happy in his personal as well as his professional life. What all I have read, his homosexuality was no secret to anyone but his love for Linda was also real and the guilt he felt in feeling as if he was betraying her, though she was well aware that he was homosexual, must have been enormous. Being disabled (hate the word "crippled") as he was, at a young age and most likely a self loathing he had for how HE felt he was seen by others, must have just eaten him alive..yet he continued to write glorious music. Very inspiring, indeed.
He's got it! Magnificent! ❤ However I prefer the ballet where he's in a class all his own ❤❤❤
I wish someone could clean up the audio. Great video.
Probably the only honoree who cried at such an ovation.
So glad they honored her!
I was on that show as a trumpeter with the USAF Band. One of the highlights of 20 years of service. Bob Hope is amazing and his support for the military was inspiring. Also having the opportunity to have a meaningful conversation with Danny Thomas was memorable.
I'm one of the sailors on stage!
Nunca entenderé porqué Hollywood solo aprovechó su magia en 2 películas 🤔🤔
I had the honor and pleasure to work as an office temp for Lerner as he prepared his last show, Dance A Little Closer. He was an incredibly genuine human being. May he Rest in Eternal Peace.
I thought i heard somewhere that Bob Hope said his greatest award was being made the first and only honorary veteran. He did so much for our military and deserves all the accolades, respect, and love he received from the United States. It's a shame that in a generation or two people will forget about what a wonderful American he was.
We Love You Irene Dunne FOREVER !!!
11:09 On ! Brooke
anyone knows the film in 3:58?
Elaine Kudo is so talented. She holds her own with Baryshnikov and Jaffe. She has her own distinct mystique.
The Sinatra suite with her and Baryshnikov is a masterpiece.
right speaker only?
It was going so well and................... poof. At least we got Rex Harrison's stirring tribute, but it would have been really nice to see the whole segment. It's like someone suddenly pulled the plug and the lights went out.
I saw Bob at yong gi gol in korea in 1970, the tougnest part of the show was when he asked us all to stand and join hands singing Silent Night. I was barely 20 yrs old and 15000 miles from home and alone with 10000 other men around me. It still brings tears to eyes 50 years later.
Yes Thanks for the memories Bob you truly brought fun, laughs and hope to all of USa you entertained, RIP..
Thank you so much for posting this!
Trash. Just like the Cavlovic family in Ottawa
Wonderful 😊
And now Frederica is close to what Irene Dunnes age was here - lovely tribute x
Thanks for the memories, Mr. HOPE...
Гениальнее гения 👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤🌷🙋♀️
Irene Dunne is my favorite actress of all-time. Whether it be drama, screwball comedies and a quiet stoic role in I remember Mama. She played them all with the same professionalism.
Bobby Short: I miss him.
Irene, ce qu'on appelle en France la classe américaine.
The Reagan years.... No one else deserved to be honored accept White People....And this is how great people claimed that Ronald Reagan was..... Piss on him.....At least when Obama got into office,he had the guts to Diversify the awards ceremony...This is exactly why, having Obama, becoming president meant so much for the USA... It meant that, finally,ANYONE could become president and the white man's glass ceiling was finally broken for good.....
Aren’t you bitter and twisted?
Thanks for the mem'ries!
She and Doris Day were national treasures. No one could ever compare to either one of them. I wish that they had made many more films for the world to enjoy. They were the real deal!!!!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Back when the Kennedy Center Honors meant something special.
❤❤❤❤
Ironic Kennedy honors in 1985 - both Frtz Loewe (age 86) and Alan Jay Lerner (age 67) died in the year 1986…!
Sadly, this is Al and Fritz' last public appearance..Al Lener died a year later and Fritz left us in 1988.
Wrong …math: Alan Jay Lerner born August 31, 2018 - 66 years old Spring of 1985.
Loewe is 84 in 1985 - Lerner is 61
