The winners of Miss America as they appeared in the Evening Gown competition. I made this using Windows Movie Maker 2007. I have every Miss America Pageant on DVD from the 1958 pageant to 2014. The first Miss America pageant I watched was the 1973 pageant with Rebecca Ann King winning, I was 7 at the time.

Pittsburgh Airport during the US Airways Hub Days. Mostly filmed from the US Airways Express Terminal.
Vanessa Williams is beyond a 10 with the toga gown. Susan Akin is just stunning and also a 10. And Carolyn Sapp is regal 10.
A Delta MD-11, that is truly a needle in a haystack! Also loved seeing that Lufthansa A-340, they still fly in/out of KIAH.
I miss you northwest airlines ❤
Why do they all take baby steps.
Miss Amérique 2015 Kira KAZANTSEV est américaine d'origine Russe 😊❤😊

Amazing!
Thanks. I appreciate your videos.
California's in 1982 was lovely as well. actually there were some other plains ones later on that were lovely. The ones I disliked were 83,88,90,91 and 99, but they are all better than those worn at miss USA or Miss Universe.
Ididn'tlike the gownof the 1977 winner but loved all ther other gowns of the 60's and 70's, nice and plain and beautiful. After those I liked very few.
Debra Barnes stands out here.

26 years ago today. I will always love aviation.
The old Delta "Widget" Livery design that began in 1961 was the best Delta livery and one of the best of all airlines. I sorely miss seeing it.
Awesome footage of ATL from 1997. So great to see the variety of aircraft and airlines at ATL. Especially the international airlines. An Eastern Airlines 757 was visible along with the early introduction of Delta's new livery at the time. Thanks so much for posting this snapshot of airline history.
I got the chance to fly N900PC out of Atlanta 25 years later in 2023, what a great time capsule of a video!
19:36 Is that just me or do i hear the chime and the "CAREFUL ! Doors are closing" announcement ?
These airplanes were much better and safer than the horrible planes of today. The MD-11, L-1011, 747-300, 727-200 and A340-600 all shown in this video, have more than 2 engines. Unlike the airplanes of today that go overseas with 2 engines. It is a shame.
Think ETOPS has proven over the last 25yrs. that twin engine long range flight works well. The aircraft you mentioned needed more than two engines to lift the MTOW.
Bro stop talking rubbish number of engines doesnt matter and aviation is always great and not horrible, and also there were way more crashes then than now
@@NickChigozie don’t be rude at me. The more engines the safer. This is proven fact. That is why US specifically use 747 for Air Force One! It is because it has 4 engines. Read about it and learn the facts before you get rude and attack someone!
@@jerryuma and think before you say something that can vex something, planes are always beautiful
This always shows up when I type "plane spotting at Newark"
This is fantastic! I was at Air Wisconsin in Chicago at this time. Good stuff!
Thanks for all the focus on the Dornier 328. Such a lovely aircraft. Unfortunately it didn't live up to its manufactuer's performance promises.
Just wowI fueled ZW around that time. What memories! Thanks for uploading!
Interesting little Dornier 328
This was filmed 8 days after I was born….crazy to see all the airlines I grew up around and now a lot of them aren’t around anymore
OMG this is mid 90's Nostalgia at it's best. God bless whoever uploaded this video!
18:50 train
Did you find that video on my 1996-2015/17 playlist ?
Also at 17:17
The best Delta livery! 👍🏻
This was two years before my bornth.
Not a plane white non-descriptive accountant special paint scheme in sight! The Delta livery for some reason always brought a sense of exotic destinations Ie Florida the Deep South etc Now it’s an awful livery
Crazy to see this. Now concourse E is a parking lot and I’m sure will soon be gone after the renovations at airside.
(Middle School Student Holding a camcorder) Middle School Girl: Wow Teacher: we're waiting for a Newark Bound Flite. Middle School Girl: I bought a Cartons of Nestle Quik, because I need it for my bones to grow.
We were a USAir family. I enjoyed the nostalgia of seeing the livery again. 😊
Great footage. A classic era
Wow I can’t believe that Lufthansa a340 was only four months old in this video
I was working that day
By this video, Harry Stonecipher had already killed McDonnell Douglas and Boeing would take over in a few months. That Delta MD-11 sure was the most comfortable ride ever. They are the only ones in this video still operating as of 06/23. Interesting to see NW, VJ, US, etc still operating and those JT8 hushkits...
Plane spotters were crap back in the day 😂
The days when we still had some normal people still alive. And it was still fun to fly not anymore.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful time capsule. 25 years later and the 757s are still flying!!
Thank you Alan for a BEAUTIFUL step back to better days.
8:30 typical delta pilot. wont approach the gate due to a candy bar wrapper on the tarmac.
Delta got a lot of air miles over the years with that Lockheed L-1011 fleet .
TriStar 500 @7:00 in its twilight of service
This was the "Golden Age" of the 1990s for Delta, fresh of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. At the time my dad flew 757/767s for Delta based out of CVG. He used to say the road to Hell must go through Atlanta, just like every Delta flight.
At one point, this airport was one of the best and busiest in the America. It's sad to see it (and CVG) as a shell of it's former self.
I cannot believe this was so long ago this was like before I was born
Miss those old american, delta, and united liveries.
Good ole days!
Also this brings me back to the good old days of when a family regardless of age of passenger or traveling at all can go and either accompany someone or meet them at the gate. That all ended after September 11th Which Ironically there is a shot of the towers standing
Newark airport the airport I frequent the most on the East Coast
