    I remember this day. It happened on February 5th earlier this year. It was the same day I arrived in Japan. Tokyo had a snowstorm for the evening. The next day I took a Shinkansen to Sapporo for the Yuki Matsuri ☃️ for more snow 😂

      Thank you for sharing your memory! AP-san😆That must have been quite an experience to arrive in Japan on such a snowy day. I’m glad the Shinkansen wasn’t stopped by the snow and you made it safely to Sapporo. How was the Snow Festival? I hope you enjoyed your trip despite the unexpected weather! I went to the Chureito Pagoda and Kawaguchiko early this year (2024) for Cherry Blossoms. IMHO, taking the bus would be the easiest because it’s a direct 2hr ride from Shinjuku St to Kawaguchiko St and cheaper than train.

    • @GetToKnowJapanTogether
      @GetToKnowJapanTogether 2 дня назад

      Hi AP-san! Thank you for the advice! I agree with you😆the bus is faster and cheaper. One good thing about the train is that the toilets are spacious! Were the cherry blossoms beautiful? This year, the blooming was quite late. I hope you were able to enjoy the cherry blossoms. If you have any other tips or experiences to share, I'd love to hear them!🥰Arigatou!

      @@GetToKnowJapanTogether you’re welcome! I arrived at Kawaguchiko two days after Sakura opened so I was able to see it in full bloom. Some tips for your future videos. • some hotels in Kawaguchiko have free shuttle buses from the station to the hotel • if you want to see Sakura at Chureito Pagoda, it’s better to go from sunrise. After 9am the line was up to 4hrs+ long and harder to take good pictures without crowds. I had lots of space and freedom from 6:30am - about 8am with no crowds • once the Pagoda observation deck becomes busy, there is a 5 or 10 minute limit you can stay before they tell you to get off and new people can enter. If you come early enough or in the evening, there is no line • besides the Pagoda, you should rent a bike for a day or half day and ride around the nearest lake, Kawaguchi. There are many other Sakura spots when riding around the lake and also the nice view spot, Oishi Park. • many people don’t know FujiQ Highland is free to enter unlike Disneyland or Universal Studios. You just pay for individual rides or purchase a day pass • JR railpass doesn’t work from Kawaguchiko station to Otsuki station because it’s a private line (Fujikyuko-sen / 富士急行線) These are some tips I remember for now and I can update later if I remember more. Hope this helps! 😊

      @@GetToKnowJapanTogether Thank you for the suggestions. The video around 17:57 waterwheel one, that looks a night one, so if I have to explore at night, 17:41 bus may not help then if thats the last bus of the day? Also, my current plan was more like this, start from nagoya, do the trails and back to nagoya or Nakatsugawa or Nagiso as my next stop would be kyoto, but if I head North, I can think of the place you suggested or way up to Agematsu? The local bus route in video doesn't show up in the link you posted. I really wanted to visit otaki, I know its off road, and not sure if there is any public/private transport there esp. in Nov.

The restaurant where the Enoden runs right in front of you was also very nice, but it's quite crowded. I went during a less busy time and requested a window seat. It seems they don't accept such requests during busy hours. For my next video, I'm thinking of introducing a mountain with stunning views. I hope your trip to Japan will be amazing!😉😉

    I have been to Shinjuku a couple times years ago, but I have never been to Golden Gai nor Omoide Yokocho. Perhaps someday I will go if I'm in the neighborhood at night. The small izakayas under the railroad tracks in Yurakucho also look appealing, and I hope to check them out someday. As far as izakayas go, I prefer the smaller "mom and pop," owner-operated izakayas over the larger chain variety. The kind of izakaya where the owner greets you and thanks you for coming just after you sit down, and then pours you a glass of plum wine or cold sake as a kind of "liquid" otoshi. The kind of izakaya where you can have a conversation with another friendly patron. Oh, and I also like izakayas that specialize solely in seafood. Japan has so, so many wonderful izakayas stretching from Hokkaido down to Okinawa (Ishigaki). Whenever I'm in a new city, large or small, I always look for a couple smaller izakayas to go to. リック

      リックさん!おはようございます!How have you been? I hope you are doing well! Indeed, small izakayas have a lot of charm! I also often have dinner at izakayas when traveling. The food is delicious, and I can ask locals for recommendations😆 Omoide Yokocho and Golden Gai are popular among tourists because they can go even if they don't understand Japanese. The majority of small izakayas are Japanese-only, with menus in kanji, so it is probably difficult for foreign tourists to get in. Yurakucho and Shinbashi are the holy lands for salarymen! I also love izakayas with a focus on seafood dishes! And I love motsuni too! When it's this hot every day, it makes me want to drink beer!

      Hi! Linh Nguyễn-san😆Arigatou for your comment during your trip. The Izu Islands, including Oshima, are in peak season during the summer, so the fares are higher. However, there is a summer version of the tour I participated in. It’s available for departures from Monday to Thursday in July only. Here is the link, and you need to make a reservation by phone at least one day in advance: www.tokaikisen.co.jp/news/561464/ The price is higher than in winter, but it's cheaper than buying a regular ticket! The view of Tokyo Bay is particularly beautiful, so if you have time, I highly recommend experiencing it. Just be aware that this tour doesn’t specify which island you will visit, so be prepared for that when you book. When it comes to filming, I use my iPhone camera (my iPhone is 13 Promax) I usually film at 4K 60fps so I think that's why my videos are clear. I also use some Luts for color grading. I recommend the website "freshLUTs"! Here you can get good Luts for free! By the way, I saw your wedding photos! They are amazing!! Congratulations on your wedding!!😍😍

Please try to answer them when you have time because it will be very helpful for my upcoming trip. Im planning to visit Ginzan Onsen on Nov 3 (Sunday). Here are my questions: 1. Ill be traveling by the early morning Shinkansen from Tokyo and looks like it arrives at Oishida at 9:40 and the bus seems to depart at 9:50. Would that leave enough time for me to store luggage and catch th bus? I'm worried 😢 2. Nov 4 seems to be Culture Day holiday in Japan. Would that make things more crowded and my worry about earlier question true?

      Hi! Sea Salt Lemon-san😆😆 Thank you for watching my video! I also took that Shinkansen before and visited Ginzan Onsen. Here is the link to that video. ruclips.net/video/89UZTvJccK4/видео.html You will have enough time to transfer to the bus. However, once you leave the Shinkansen, please head straight to the bus stop. That day is a public holiday in Japan, making it a three-day weekend (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday). However, since it's the last day of the long weekend, I don't think the tourist spots will be very crowded (as everyone is heading home). But on that day, the return Shinkansen might be crowded. All seats on the Yamagata Shinkansen are reserved. If reservations are full, you won't be able to board. Regardless of Japanese holidays, the number of foreign tourists has increased significantly, making the Shinkansen crowded. Please don't forget to book in advance! Shinkansen tickets go on sale one month before the travel date at 10 AM. It's the beautiful season for autumn leaves! I recommend taking a walk in Shirogane Park. Enjoy your trip!🍁

      @@GetToKnowJapanTogether Thanks for your response dear Gettoknowjapan san 😀🙂. I feel relieved after reading your comment. I still have some flexibility in my trip so let me see if I can reschedule things. Your comment about booking advance tickets is going to be very helpful for me. Thanks again and have a nice day! 🙂
