Eh, disagree with the seats, I don't think the figure loses anything by not including them. The only thing I do agree is that Ramjet should have come with Tidal Wave. Don't care much about the elevator, or the rotating turrets. Tidal Wave's nipple-twirl-y turrets were never a big draw for me even with his original toy. But I do wish we could have gotten his minicon at the very least.

Disgusting toy. Wrong scale, Overly-simple transformation. Most awful alt mode for a Masterpiece in 25 years. What a disgrace!

I clicked this thinking it was about the ones with the spring-loaded weapons that snapped into place with a button press. G1 was confusing as all hell.

the lever on the head is to adjust the weight distribution. If, when jumping, it goes too left or too right, you adjust the lever to shift the weight in the other direction. Its only a tiny weight change, but supposedly enough.

I had these back in the day, and I never had a problem with them transforming. I can’t ever remember them NOT working. Of course, that was in the 80s when they were new.

I've been figuring the physics of these guys out for a while, I have a fair bit of slow motion footage of their transformation,its really interesting actually if you ever want to know all the details on how they work. Spring wear is an issue with some.

They hardly ever worked for me, not even brand new in 1985. But darn it, I still loved them!

They were more robot than the half formed scared Octane looking throttle bots.

My brother and I received these for Christmas one year. We liked them.

I had Twintwist, and he always worked. I can't imagine it being easy to make sure the springs inside him were all perfectly the same tightness needed, so I can imagine a lot of them probably not working also. I guess I was probably one of the lucky ones. I definitely wouldn't expect any open box 40 year old spring toy to still work without being serviced at this point though.

Yeah I had these in their original run and on a smooth surface, they were as reliable as the sun.

I love those stupid things. I got mine for about $10 each as well. Yeah, they pretty much never land on their feet, but they are just a fun thing to have in the collection.

I had twintwist when he first came out (in storage at my mums still) he would jump up and stand on his feet EVERY SINGLE TIME, so I guess ur clip is right “you suck” 🤣😂 UK here though so perhaps we got superior versions? 😂

The minibots of G1 Transformers came in robot mode on their cards but I believe you are correct that most of the others were boxed in alt modes.

I prefer the bootleg. Having more metal is such a flex.

Thanks for the review! Looks like it is okay for people who can't afford the real one (or who didn't want to pay what Takara is asking). I would love to see the KO company do something fun with this mold and re-issue it with multiple colors (Power Convoy blue, Ultra Magnus White, Nemesis Prime black, Sentinel Prime yellow, etc).

For a masterpiece, it makes a pretty great CHUG.

What I've learned after visiting some black markets around Southeast Asia, if the packaging, cover or box have bad photoshop works, they probably did that on purpose, so that no authority would go after them. While my Legacy United G1 Universe Deluxe Class Optimus Prime is on it's way, as for Missing Link Optimus... Warrior, maybe I'll try and get that. Assuming a shop around Southeast Asia has one if I travel.

At that price... I'd rather just get the official one lol.

I dont have it, thinking about it but from what ive seen the issue is that since most of the figure is diecast they didnt take that into consideration when applying the paint which then throws off the original tolerances. The fact the trailer hitch fits so tightly and the arms not tabbing properly in truck mode prove that. Its a nic showpiece but if you end up messing around with it too much alm that paint on the diecast is gonna start chipping off.

It's crazy how those used to be a dime a dozen and I may never see one again. I haven't actually seen one in forever, already. That figure probably helped shaped my personal taste for my entire life. It's still as cool as it can possibly be!
