    A lot of people say Honda did this for emissions but the CB300 is also honda's and it has the better air intake and cams, could it be that the intake snorkle is long to avoid water getting into the engine easily? By being so long it dumps water at the bottom of the intake box and avoid it getting sucked through the filter

    This test does not take into account the resonance of the intake system when the bike is running. This is just backyard "engineering." Not quite the same as those pesky Japanese automotive engineers use with their fluid dynamics testing. Leave engineered products alone!

    I'm confused. What is powering the relay switch? I presume that the secondary circuit is being powered by the lead from the ABS fuse box, hence the on/off at the handlebars. As far as I can understand, you have only described one power source, whereas a relay requires two power sources. I'm scratching my head here.

    in camshafts, it is not only the duration that counts, there is also the survey (subtract the side measurement from that of the highest point) and one of the factors that most influences torque and hp is certainly timing! even if the camshaft measurements are identical, the start of opening and the start of closing of the valves may vary

    I have a question I hope you can answer. I installed a G2 Ergonomics throttle body and a quicker cam. My problem is the cables bind at full right lock despite adjusting for maximum slack. You removed the nut on the adjuster at the carb and the adjuster is screwed all the way down. Does that position and removal of the nut provide the greatest amount of slack in the cable?

      Just installed my G2. It was very tight to install but thankfully I ended up with enough slack. My bike is 2 years old.

    Sorry if I write you here, to talk about the Honda CRF300 seat removal but on that video the comments seems not to be allowed. I found your solution for the seat removal very nice. I only have one doubt: with this solution the saddle is held in place by two bolts screwed onto the plastic mudguard. I wonder if the plastic mudguard is strong enough to withstand the forces that arise from the movement of the body on the saddle. What do you think about it? Thank you

    I thought this was going to be a problem too but then I noticed that the airbox lid has little tabs that hold those rubber tabs in place and keep them from moving.

  • @karlalton3170

    Leaving the small plate out the 250 clutch is a bad idea its there to aid smooth take up because the CRF's have no rubber shock pads in there rear sprocket hub leaving that out will wear chains and sprockets out twice as fast 😁🤘

    Thanks for sharing this. It's funny I came across your video after having issues of my own on the CRF 300 Rally. When doing maintenance I took the filter out & found a lot of dust in the air box past the filter. At first I blamed myself & then started looking into the fit & was shocked how much movement there is with the Hurricane & how flimsy the outer edge is. To solve the issue, I ordered a Twin Air Filter & installed the Hurricane inside it. It was easy to peel back & remove the outer rubber off the Hurricane leaving it with a nice fit inside the Twin Air cage c/w the Twin Air pre-filter. Hurricane Filters are probably just fine in other applications, but I would never recommend the CRF300 Filter as it comes from Hurricane. Problem solved & now fits secure.

    • @JimmiZero
      @JimmiZero Месяц назад

      @@charliem5332 Hi! I had to make a spline tool out of one of the old friction plates (drilled 2 holes in it and bolted to a thin bar of steel) this held the basket in place - also make sure to bend the tab out of the groove - the tab is a part of the nut - if it breaks off while you are bending it, no big deal, just but another one for around $5.00

    F()cking nice. I have my bike tore apart doing these modifications right now. Removed the evaporative control system. Removed in intake snorkel then enlarged the intake. I added the CBR300 High Flow Airbox Velocity Stack and the air box lid with the "frog skin" from 550 Performance. I have a stage 1.5 ECU coming next week. Added the full RS-4 Yoshimura exhaust (which I highly recommend). I might add the CBR cams but I doubt it. I'm loving this bike, but if I want more power the only real option is to install the big bore kit from 550 Performance which I will never do. After I fix this all up I'm going to ride it for a while then buy the KTM 500 EXC-F for more power. I will never sell my CRF 300L but sometimes I need more power and speed so I'll get on my KTM 500 for that. But for longevity, durability, and low maintenance I will ride my Honda. I have a BMW 1250 GSA but I ride my little Honda 300L much more than that 600 pound BMW.

    The 300L clutch is a better design & that’s why Honda did it. Your going backwards here if you install in a 250L clutch, both designs are good.

    • @uralicdneprov1806
      @uralicdneprov1806 10 месяцев назад

      I haven't seen many 300L failed clutch reports. 250L clutch however, is known to wear out fast due to too weak stock springs. CBR300 springs swap solves the problem. The other 250L clutch flaw is small thrust plate clearance. Thrust plate gets in hard contact sitting on the basket surface when friction plates are half way worn out. Clutch could last twice as long if you machine 2mm off the thrust plate for more clearance. There may be an aftermarket thicker friction pack available to solve the issue as well.

  • @stephtraveler7378
    @stephtraveler7378 Год назад

    Nah. That's typical of most motorcycle pressure plates. The springs are loose when not installed. The 5k rattle is likely the decompression ring on the camshaft. They disengage as RPM climbs using centrepital force and loosen up as the engine wears in. Its a harmless noise. If you ever upgrade the camshaft, they often delete the decompression ring... i.e. Hotcams stage 1 upgrade.

    Mixing spring rates puts a differential side load on the forks , it’s much better to use the same rate springs on both sides . Although it’s more expensive.

    I went this route but its to harsh. Im 95kg and the preload spacer is at 30cm( cant be less) and combination of oem fork spring and dr650se fork spring is to harsh, even on large bumps at speed I cant use more then 13cm of fork travel..and thats only 60%. Rider sag is 5cm and should be 6.5-7cm. So I only recomend this option for full travel with bagage.
