I was always under the impression that the Xeno Telepath was a living being and not a machine. It just looks so odd and in renders it also looks has dark skin and black eyes, similar to the martians. During the night under the night-vision it also appears bright yellow. I always assumed that was supposed to represent heat from its living skin.

To demonstrate the difference in power of the Martians and Humans. Human units are far weaker to the equivalent martian counterparts. For example the Martian "scout machine" can easily take on 2 squads of armored lorries. You need 3 just to take out the scout squad and at the end of the shootout you are left with 2 dead squads and less then half of the 3rd squad. If you are unlucky and are out of position at the start of the fight you can loose all 3 squads while the martian scout squad will have 1 survivor albeit badly damaged. Seems unbalanced for sure but I guess the developers purposely did it to show how much more powerful martian tech and weapons are compared to humans living in the 1800s. One of the best ways as humans to prevent an early martian rush is to construct defenses quickly. That's the one thing humans have over Martians. Human defenses are all artillery based and do pretty decent damage plus the heavier defenses can fire at the martians over half a map away. You really only want to start attacking as humans only after you have unlocked all of your units and start teching up. Just remember to bring the numbers, because even when you tech up the martian units will still overpower humans in a one to one match up. As humans you have to use your numerical superiority.

Along with what I said on the Human Units video, I think I remember that Human buildings had research associated with them too. So do all the buildings depicted have all of their researchable upgrades?

Offically the game doesn't support Windows 7, see my older posts. Just set the game installer on the CD to run in Win95 Compatability mode and it should install. I think thats what I did when I ran it on Win7.

They just worked although I can't remember now if I set the game to a compatability mode.

The cinematics run fine for me. You should check if your hardware is supporting the cutscenes though.

In the Battle Map, where you're moving your units around within the sector, right click to bring up the action menu when selecting the unit with the special ability. Move to the Force Fire section while keeping the right mouse button pressed down. If your units have a special ability (Like Black Dust, Shock Bomb, Scan etc.) it will be displayed to the right of the Force Fire menu. Select the option and then select a desired target (except for Scan as it will scan the whole sector) to see it.

Its a tank that can drill into your enemies bases and wreak havoc. It will be in your base, killing your martian doods

what use is a tunneling track layer?

Not exactly; while the designation is the same, the Sappers use an actual gun, while the Observation Balloons drop bombs on the target (Can even be used against Flying Machines, I found that out myself). Just be careful; anything that explodes DIRECTLY BELOW the Observation Balloons (like trees, houses, defenses or buildings) WILL damage the Observation Balloon itself too.

The Support Buildings will allow you to build specific units within the Vehicle Factory: - To make Construction Vehicles, Sappers, Mobile Repair Vehicles and Mortar Bikes, you need the Training Center. - To make the Self Propelled Gun and Mobile Anti-Aircraft array, you need the Munitions Factory. - You need the Construction Labs to build the Tunneling Track Layer and Submersible (Ship Yard only).

The Mortar Bike can launch a powerful projectile at close range and you can use it to Infiltrate on a Martian Communications Center.
