    The real reason is STEAM never put anything on steam they are a rip off and pick and choose which games to show and recommend. I am making a new game and releasing it on Epic games and it is free for game makers.

      It’s a one time fee of $100. You pay this per game you want to release so it’s not a subscription fee. They will refund this after your game makes $1000 in revenue! Hope this helps!

    It’s funny how people try to act like game development is easy. It’s not. It’s takes lots of practice. Lots of time. Lots of failure and frustration. But stick with it. You’ll learn a lot. And it feels great when you overcome certain challenges. But it is not easy. I recommend actually learning the programming language rather than rely on ChatGPT. It’s a great tool to use, but you still must know what you’re doing to use it. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

    @4:07 - I feel like I must be misunderstanding something about the math here. 2 * 50 = 100, so you're saying that if a game in the genre you're considering has 2 or more reviews, it's an idea worth pursuing? Seems low.

      Yes that math makes sense. It's not always going to be the case of course but I think that is what you can generally expect. I'd suggest looking at the minimum wage in your country and multiplying this by the hours spent on the project. This is going to be the biggest cost. 100 copies is great but if you don't make you're costs back you've made a loss :(

Also, be sure to utilise Adobe Colour (it's free!) as you can upload a reference photo and get beautiful colour palettes in return!

    Look at games that were developed by a huge team and do better as a solo dev
