Baseball MVPs That Were Not All-Stars (1935-1989)
In this video I wanted to highlight 6 of the 12 MVPS in baseball history that didn’t go to the all star game during their MVP campaigns. If you would like to see the other 6 MVPS be discussed in a follow up video, please let me know and I will gladly do so. This video was meant to be posted on the day of the all star game in Texas (hence the reference to TCM in the intro) but due to a family event, I had to postpone it. Thank you for watching!

Mookie Betts Is Still (Somehow) Underrated
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.5 месяцев назад
In this video I wanted to talk about Mookie Betts and his incredible versatility on the field. His ability to play where his team needs him is one of the most valuable skills in the game of baseball. While his moving around the diamond is very impressive, I also wanted to highlight some former players who won gold gloves at multiple positions. Let me know what you think of him and anything you ...
Joey Votto Was One Of A Kind

In this video I wanted to talk about how Joey Votto missed out on the Silver Slugger award. He has been great throughout his career and it is crazy how he can place top 3 in MVP voting multiple times without ever receiving the "lesser" award. Babe Vs. Bonds: The Most Dominant Player In Baseball History

I wanted to talk about two of the greatest players in MLB history. Babe Ruth and Barry Bonds are perhaps the two most dominant players ever and while it is impossible to compare them 1 to 1 I try my best. Both players have extremely interesting careers and are larger than life. Let me know what you think of them and anything you would want to see in the future. The name of my company is Tapir B...

The Worst MVP In Baseball History

In this video I wanted to see who the worst MVP in Baseball history is. I hope this is not taken as negative towards any of these players as I think they are important parts of baseball history but I do think it is an interesting question to ask. MVPs are always a big conversation each season and sometimes we talk about it for years after the season ends. Let me know if there is anything else y...

Babe Ruth played segregated baseball. He never faced the best. He played against a bunch of blacksmiths and plumbers. Overrated.

Just fyi, the home run record prior to Ruth was 128 which means every home run he hit after 1919 was pretty much a record on its own. He personally drug the home run record to 90% of what it is today. He managed 713 home runs. After him is Aaron and Bonds. But they are only a couple dozen past him meaning that what he carried the record to was an unbelievable total in comparisons with modern day

Second category makes me think of Ted Williams losing to DiMaggio in I think 48. Not talking the contentious 1941. There was another when Williams had double the WAR. Still those 2 were vastly bigger so it makes sense you mention them

How many games as a pitcher did Bonds win? How many more AB's does Bonds have over Ruth?

  • @Rufferto12

Bonds was going to be a hall of famer who would have had over 3000 hits and more than 600 home runs. He and Griffey Jr. were far and away the best players in baseball when they were playing. He would have been a first ballot hall of famer. But instead he juiced up. He cheated. MLB shames itself by including his records. As far as myself and many others are concerned, Hank Aaron has the all time home run record, Roger Maris still has the single season home run record, and Babe Ruth still has the single season slugging average record. Ruth is the best ever. Period.

It’s mind blowing how Albert Belle didn’t win a single MVP while he should of won multiple MVP’s. His attitude and personality had everything to do with that. He had so many GREAT seasons. (1995 especially). He prob had the best or one of the best 10 year stretches of all time

It's Bonds for me pretty easily. There are just too many BIG caveats for Ruth. Not having to play against remotely a level playing field with no black, latin or international players. He was a full on professional baseball player but most of the league at the time was dudes that had to still work real jobs to make ends meat.

Ruth hit like bonds did in his juiced years his whole career. This isn't even a discussion. Ruth hit more home runs by himself than any other team combined did in 1921. That would be the same as bonds hitting 225 homers in 2001. Ruth also hit 343 lifetime and had less at bats. He wasted his early years pitching or he would still have the home run record.

I grew up watching Bonds and I think its impossible to capture the aura of Bonds ability. And I think a major difference is we romanticize what babe could do, by the time Bonds played it was a developed science, and for him to still set himself so far apart was a treat to watch.

If you are talking about dominance there is no comparison. Comparing players from such different eras is impossible. However, looking at how each player did against their peers of their respective time period is how you determine dominance. Ruth is hands down the most dominant baseball player ever! Ruth, Chamberlain and Gretzky are the three most dominant team sports athletes ever when comparing them to their peers!!

Barry Bonds was a choker. Babe Ruth was a winner of World Series. Pittsburgh had good teams when Barry was on the team, but when Barry was in the pay off, he should have been benched. Barry did get the Giants into the World Series and lost in the 7th game.

Other side of that coin drop Josh Gibson in the MLB and you think he’s going to shit Lol?! No ! Great is great no matter who they played with , a lot of the people who promote these stupid fucking takes have never played the game at a high level , and even if they didn’t don’t know the game if it bit them in their woke ass

Great video, Tapir. I wouldn’t say that the NL had a clear offensive MVP in ‘88. I respectfully believe that LA’s Orel Hershiser should have taken that year’s MVP in addition to his Cy Young. Also, I agree, many of Sister Sledge’s hits are overlooked! Haha
