"Lucky Stars" is the first single from The Motels album The Last Few Beautiful Days released on March 30, 2018.
The Motels are an American new wave band from Berkeley, California, that is best known for the singles "Only the Lonely" and "Suddenly Last Summer", each of which peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100, in 1982 and 1983, respectively. In 1980, The Motels song "Total Control" reached No. 7 on the Australian chart (for two weeks), and their song "Danger" reached No. 15 on the French chart.
The Last Few Beautiful Days is the ninth studio album by new wave band The Motels. Martha Davis's eldest daughter Maria inspired many of the songs on the album....

Wow! Great history lesson!!! Never really thought about all the struggles they went through. I always remember how much I loved those songs, "Only the Lonely", "Suddenly Last Summer", and "Shame". When you listen to these songs on the radio, or CD, or watch the videos, you don't think about the years of struggle. Very interesting!
When you hear a hit song that you love, you just want that group or artist to keep cranking out those hits like that year after year. And I used to get depressed about how so many groups and artists seemed to struggle with that. Then I realized, it's just better to be grateful that they happened. We love these songs and artists because they are so rare. If they or anyone could crank them out like that, they wouldn't be as special as they are. I am grateful.

No way, that would be Darlene Love’s version. There’s a reason that version went to #1. Vikki is good, but Darlene was out of this world on this song. And Spector’s arrangement was amazing.
