    I heard someone say that when it comes to sidespin. You want to direct your bat angle to where their bat came from. For example if their bat comes from your (the reciever) left to right then you aim for your left. If it comes from right to left then you aim for your right. Not taking into account when people do wierd actions to throw you off.

    I've seen that you previously were using dimitrij ovtcharov's racket, but now changed to sk carbon. Which one do you think is better for your play-style and why?

      In my opinion, the dimitrij ovtcharov's racket had a more balanced weight with slightly more control compared to the sk carbon. I prefer the sk carbon because it felt lighter and faster with a nice feeling....and it was also cheaper hahaha

    Good work but also remember that sound is also an indicator of type of spin. Soft vs loud impact sounds when serving the ball. On sidespin, if I hit the right side of the ball (your left) you guide the ball back by hitting the opposite side (your right).

    All these returns are okay for amateur and beginner club players but as soon as you get into decent club player level they will destroy you on the 3rd ball attack

      Sometimes I know I can return my opponents strong drives and loops but they have a deceptive serve. I know if I can get their serve on the table I can win… eventually I need to dominate the serve returns but for now I just want get it on the table… this certainly helped but I believe it will be a combination of increased practice and experience to progress.

    I've always wondered what role Ovcharov's backhand serve beginning with the knees deeply bent and the off-side elbow at table-level played in the stroke mechanics. You were able to convince me that there is no obvious purpose to this complex and costly start, except possibly some deception from the involved and rapid movement. Am I still missing something you are clear about and can explain?

    • @pingpong9668
      @pingpong9668 29 дней назад

      For the elbow placement, I believe ovtcharov does that to angle his bat sideways to serve wide to the opponents forehand from his forehand side. Since there is heavy sidespin, it will curve the ball and make it uncomfortable for the opponent to do a forehand loop. For the deep bending of the knees, I am not too sure as why he bends that low, but I think it has something to do with consistent timing (since he tosses the ball just as the knees fully extends) or maybe its just his personal preference hahaha. Thanks for the question! Hope this helped

    • @JohnVermes
      @JohnVermes 28 дней назад

      I’m glad you brought personal preference into the conversation. When you are as fit as he must be and your movements are as grooved as his, it kind of doesn’t matter whether he “wastes energy” by motions that don’t seem to serve a purpose for ordinary mortals. Let’s just agree that he knows what he’s doing for his own game and our mileage may vary (in fact, will).
