Hook Serve Tutorial: Crazy Sidespin
I heard someone say that when it comes to sidespin. You want to direct your bat angle to where their bat came from. For example if their bat comes from your (the reciever) left to right then you aim for your left. If it comes from right to left then you aim for your right. Not taking into account when people do wierd actions to throw you off.
Bro is actually living in a mansion💀
Is that your home!!??
Very helpful, Thank you 🙂
Glad it was helpful!

Excellent please keep them coming I am 69 and just started to play so all help is appreciated thank you
Will do!
Hi bro do u go to a table tennis club
Currently i dont
Bruh is that your house?
I've seen that you previously were using dimitrij ovtcharov's racket, but now changed to sk carbon. Which one do you think is better for your play-style and why?
In my opinion, the dimitrij ovtcharov's racket had a more balanced weight with slightly more control compared to the sk carbon. I prefer the sk carbon because it felt lighter and faster with a nice feeling....and it was also cheaper hahaha
Good one , thanks !
Glad you liked it!
❤❤❤
Crazy disguise
need more of this for begginer and no coach
Would you please collect the transcript in one comment for easy revision ?
Good idea! I'll do it asap
Great video. Can you do a longer version just focused on the quiz at the end.
Thanks and noted!
@@pingpong9668 i have a really hard time reading the difference between side-top, sidespin, and side-under with the 3 strokes of pendulum, reverse pendulum, and banckhand.
Alright noted 👍
I enjoyed your video I subscribe to your channel 😀
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
The second serve in the mini quiz was confusing, cus you hit under the ball. Could you explain how you generated topspin?
Its true that I hit below the ball, but my wrist and arms moved upwards so it is sidetopspin.
Nice house rich guy
Very helpful video! Thank you for the clear coaching 😊
Thanks! Glad it was helpful
Nice house but god i can only imagine how many balls went missing
Hahahaha a lot did went missing 😅
Great explanation. Crystal clear.
Glad it was helpful!
Nice video. Your demonstration and explanation are clear and easy to be understood.
Thank you for watching, glad it was helpful!

Excellent consistency of your tutorial serves
..and easily defeat your opponent... is a bit of a complacent statement
subscribed. things explained make sense. however, standing in SD ocks is not much different than a barefoot stance)
Just found your channel, brilliant video, easy Sub for me. Thanks again!
Awesome, thank you!
This helped me understand. I immediately subscribed. Thank you.
Awesome, thank you!
It would be great to hear you talk about the different contact points on the bat for different shots. I don’t have a clue! 😅
Am I right to conclude that this is basically a Reverse pendulum with an unusual deception at the end? (looks terrifying, but otherwise must act similarly to the Rev. Pendulum right?)
It is actually quite similar 😄
Awesome vid!
Thanks!
Good work but also remember that sound is also an indicator of type of spin. Soft vs loud impact sounds when serving the ball. On sidespin, if I hit the right side of the ball (your left) you guide the ball back by hitting the opposite side (your right).
Great point!
Ok
I need more practise on reading serves and tactics
Excellent. Thanks for the hard work put in.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Lovely house!
All these returns are okay for amateur and beginner club players but as soon as you get into decent club player level they will destroy you on the 3rd ball attack
And even more if you miss it completely . These return are far better.
@@cyrillehurstelas he said at at a decent club. At amateur level these returns are fine
Sometimes I know I can return my opponents strong drives and loops but they have a deceptive serve. I know if I can get their serve on the table I can win… eventually I need to dominate the serve returns but for now I just want get it on the table… this certainly helped but I believe it will be a combination of increased practice and experience to progress.
Yeah because people playing at advanced club level would actually want to watch a video on how to return a servec
@@kabyabanerjee7858😂😂
Great video,an improvement would be having someone serve to you.(Since you show the serve and receive from the same side.)
Thanks for the feedback!
Good
Bagaimana cara mengembalikan servis panjang, terimakasih
Terima kasih untuk pertanyaannya! Kalo servis panjangnya topspin, bisa diblok aja seperti yang ditunjukkan di 7:42. Buat servis panjang yang backspin, bisa pake chop seperti di 2:57.
Excellent work! Please keep it up
Thanks, will do!
Excellent, thank you for demonstrating so clearly!
Thanks for watching! Glad it was helpful.
Nice one. Got 2 out of 3 . Missed the first one. Thought the bat went up but looking at the contact it was underspin.
Still a great job! Thanks for watching!
Thank you!
Thanks for tuning in as well!
Comment below your quiz scores!
I could answer correctly but it may take time for praticing, since I do not have that much time to think like doing the quizz
Yep, it will take a lot of prectice to get used to, but great job in answering correctly!
1/3. I thought the second was plain sidespin? Didn't see any topspin...😢
I've always wondered what role Ovcharov's backhand serve beginning with the knees deeply bent and the off-side elbow at table-level played in the stroke mechanics. You were able to convince me that there is no obvious purpose to this complex and costly start, except possibly some deception from the involved and rapid movement. Am I still missing something you are clear about and can explain?
For the elbow placement, I believe ovtcharov does that to angle his bat sideways to serve wide to the opponents forehand from his forehand side. Since there is heavy sidespin, it will curve the ball and make it uncomfortable for the opponent to do a forehand loop. For the deep bending of the knees, I am not too sure as why he bends that low, but I think it has something to do with consistent timing (since he tosses the ball just as the knees fully extends) or maybe its just his personal preference hahaha. Thanks for the question! Hope this helped
I’m glad you brought personal preference into the conversation. When you are as fit as he must be and your movements are as grooved as his, it kind of doesn’t matter whether he “wastes energy” by motions that don’t seem to serve a purpose for ordinary mortals. Let’s just agree that he knows what he’s doing for his own game and our mileage may vary (in fact, will).
