There was one song you missed was FamilyMan, or did I miss it ? Great Music! Out of the 70s and 80s.
Based on chart performance, "Family Man" is Hall & Oates' 12th song, as it peaked at #6 on the Hot 100 (behind the #5 singles "You make my dreams" and "Method of modern love").
Was Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band considered or did you just consider him a solo act?
That's a very good question. Billboard displays the artist's name as it appears on the official single, and all of Bruce Springsteen's Hot 100 singles are credited solely to him (except for "Sandpaper", which is a duet with Zach Bryan).
Doors, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Metallica, Creedence, Hendrix, Joplin!!! This is one lame list in this video...
If you listen to the video carefully or read the description, you will notice that this list is based on the Hot 100. That said, I give you some details about the artists you mention: - Hendrix: No Top 10 singles - Metallica: Only 1 Top 10 single - Van Halen: Only 3 Top 10 singles - CCR: No number one singles - Janis Joplin: Only 1 Top 10 single Only Aerosmith comes close, but they only have 8 Top 10 singles and one Number 1 song, so they fall behind Heart.
Journey should be number 1.
Journey is one of the bands that seem to have been very successful on the Hot 100, but the truth is that they only had 6 top 10 hits and never reached number 1. They weren't as successful on the chart as they were in the arena.

You're really reaching by naming entire groups! Kool & The Gang had 7 members in the 80's. One thing that's worth noting. You had a lot of artists who were once in bands but solo at the time such as: Steve Perry, Kenny Rogers, Lindsey Buckingham, Lionel Richie, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Paul Simon. I'd be reaching a bit with Cyndi Lauper (Blue Angel) and Billy Joel (The Hassles) and reaching even more with Dan Aykroyd (Blues Brothers).
Neil schon should also have been included!

"I feel love" is not the most important Donna's song on the Hot 100, not even close.
It's a really crappy song, but was sung well by superstars.

Personally, I would’ve added “On The Radio” to her Top 10. One of my all-time favorites!!
"On the radio" peaked at No. 5, meaning it would be the #11 song on this list.
The late Eric Carmen & the Stylistics, the 2 artists from the 70s should have been included.

I'll throw up a comment to help the algorithm and answer a couple of questions the video left hanging. The first black woman to simultaneously top the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot 200 charts was Roberta Flack (single "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" from the album "First Take." June 30, 1979: Donna Summer had the numbers 2 and 3 singles ("Hot Stuff" and "Bad Girls"). The number one song that week was another disco hit, "Ring My Bell", by Anita Ward, who was, as most disco artists were, a one-hit wonder, which makes what Ms. Summer accomplished in the genre even more impressive. I like what you're doing here, keep up the good work.

I think Journey never had a number 1 song as well. Olivia Newton-John with Physical pretty much kept them out of the number 1 spot for 1981/1982

Physical kept Foreigners "Waiting for a Girl Like You" put of the #1 spot for 10 weeks, not Journey.
"Physical" kept "Waiting for a girl like you" out of the No. 1 spot for 9 weeks (when it first hit #1, the No. 2 song was "Private eyes").

What about Neil Diamond and Glen Campbell and Cliff Richard
Neil Diamond spent only 8 weeks on the Hot 100 in 1984 (not enough to make this list). Glen Campbell was pretty much forgotten, as he hadn't had a single Top 40 hit since 1977. Cliff Richard is British.
Better never had a number one rather than ALWAYS have a fraud number ones : yes i’m talking about TAYLOR SWIFT, BTS, BEYONCE, ARIANA GRANDE and DRAKE.
Ray Parker Jr was in process of being sued by Huey Lewis for ripping off his "I Want A New Drug" into making "Ghostbusters", so since Huey was already invited that easily nixed off Ray Parker Jr
Laura Branigan not being invited was the biggest snub. Her career was still red hot at the time and her voice would def stand out in the chorus. That's the biggest mystery. MJ was very anti rock/pop bands being invited therefore Kool and Gang, Chicago, Van Halen and Cars were easily nixed from the list. Laura Branigan should've rec'd an invite
My older sister and her friends said there was an unspoken rivalry at the time between Cyndi Lauper and Madonna where Cyndi had the vocal chops in addition to her own style. Madonna was all flash and no substance or so everyone thought at the time. Jackson and Richie never had any intentions or interest of inviting Madonna to the recording session in the first place
Bette Middler and Barbra Streisand at the same room? Wasn't there a rivalry between them? Rumor has it that Barbra Streisand was invited, but her manager declined the invitation. It would be amazing to see Barbra Streisand and Kim Carnes together again. In 1984 they did a duet on “Make No Mistake, He’s Mine.”
Yes I do remember when most serious music people and fans thought Cindi Lauper would have the biggest career..at least that’s how I remember it…the Netflix documentary is a much watch and the Bob Dylan parts are hilarious along with Lionel Richie describing working with MJ…the hissing snake story is too funny,
