Trash can and pvc elbows came from Lowe’s. The drill bit is a 2 1/4 self tapping bit. Don’t press down or the but will struggle! One cup of sugar per quart of prepared fruit Let them sit over night to extract the juice. Cook them down slow! Dip them up and into sterilized jars. Loved watching this!!! Exactly like I was taught by my mother and grandmother. From the adding sugar, cooking down and using the dish cloth to hold the jar. Thank you for showing the old way of preserving. I am 79 years old. This method has never failed. I sometimes add some lemon slices to the pears while cooking down making sure to have A couple in each jar. Wonderful!
There are gloves that you use for a mandolin and that’s what I use when pealing fruit.

LOL you're not bugging me. Buttermilk really adds something to the flavor if you ask me so I can't wait to hear if you think so too. Essential tremors, yeah I've got them. They don't bother me enough at this point to worry about it. Thanks for the info!
Okay... I had to stop a minute and mention that I never knew to dip it in buttermilk. I've always just cut them thin, salt and pepper them and dip them in the cornmeal and flour mix. You learn something everyday lol. Next time I'll try it with buttermilk dip

My 3rd season makeing pepper jelly, and this was helpful. Loads of information, This was the first time I heard using the pepper relish recipe for either, Great information, Lady, Just got my first batch for this year and hopefully the no heat jalapeño are as good as the regular jalapeño but if needed I'll redo this information but regular jalapeño.
