It does help! I believe I'm suffering from a combination of pain from, two lower lumbar fusions, failed SI joints, and aracknoiditis. The pain is unbearable.

So painful ...last year I had 85% of my large intestines removed because it just stopped working ....so much pain....

You may all wish to know that back in 2014 the FDA held an advisory committee hearing on the safety and efficacy of Epidural Steroid Injection therapy to treat back pain for acute pain. (AADPAC) Although steroid injections into and around the spine were never approved by the FDA, or anywhere else in the world for that matter, pain centers found them to extremely lucrative despite reports of only short term relief in some along with reports of severe adverse medical events. After three days of presentations and public testimony, the FDA held a vote behind closed doors on whether there was enough evidence to issue an all out ban or “Contraindication" for epidural administration of particulate steroids. The vote was 15-YES, 7-NO with 1-Abstention. One year earlier, the makers of the most commonly used steroid, Pfizer’s Depo-Medrol, issued a global label-change request to have their drug not only Contraindicated for Epidural administration at ALL levels of the spine but to issue a ”MUST NOT USE via the epidural route” Black Box WARNING on the label as well. Seventeen nations including New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, etc did comply with Pfizer’s Global change request. But despite all this evidence, and votes by their own Safe Use Advisory Board along with the manufacturers’ Contraindication request, the US FDA said NO anyway and refused to comply because of industry pressures. Since then hundreds if not thousands have suffered irreversible harm such as ESI induced Arachnoiditis because of the FDA’s refusal to acknowledge the science presented at their numerous hearings. Thus we have a government agency hellbent on propping up an antiquated risky procedure that has very little proven efficacy in the name of lucrative profit$! Shame on them!

I disagree. The chances of bonding are much higher in fusion as the cage is secured by screws failed to prevent any micromovements etc. It's much safer utilizing autograph for revision rather than considering disc replacement. The chances of an artificial disc bonding with the body will be lower.

Would it be possible to put almost a permanent pump to deliver a local anesthetic to that area? Especially for someone who is immobile due to the issue/injury? I wonder if Botox injections would help any ?

I stumbled across this video and I can safely say I'm not faking what I'm feeling because this is proof to me that other's can feel it too. I'm an incomplete Paraplegic with Spinal Fusion t12 to t8 I had a vert-burst at t10 I also had an abcess at l4, the abcess caused the paralysis I'm now 5 years along very painful but still very blessed. I from the UK but reside in Trinidad. All this from a driver falling asleep at the wheel.

Just found out I have Arachnoiditis. I had a lumbar fusion on 11/18/22, my left side is a mess now. Super painful. I’m pushing through it though!

I had an abscess in my spine for the doctor had to go in and drain out the abscess was my surgery beneficial for me? I won't experience anything like arachnoiditis?

I have a failed 4 level fusion with arthosis at T7/8. I am miserable and use a medtronic pain pump, my quality of life is poor and wondering if you know any surgeons, treatments, remedies for such a situation. I do not want to live the rest of my life on opiods.
