I've had my 2010 i30 for two years now, it has been very good. There is a little bit of rust at the top of the rear passenger doors, which I've treated and am regularly checking. The AC has never worked, but in the UK you don't really miss this. Unlike your one mine is not noisy and sounds very smooth for a diesel. It's not quick but for an older driver like me it is certainly all I need. I'm hoping I can get another 2 to 3 years out of it before looking for a replacement. I'd definitely buy another one.

The 4 problems you listed are the go to sticking points for people who have never even owned an EV. Let's first think about the first 2 - which combined are an irony. If you're wealthy enough to waste money on a new car buying experience you don't care about upfront costs, and if you plan on getting rid of it, you lease it. If you're too poor for the privilege, you have no business splurging on a new car or complaining about how much they cost, and are in the perfect position to go used market because depreciation is your friend. The only EV owners who suffer from "range anxiety problems" are those who don't have access to their own charging, one of the biggest perks of owning an EV regardless of availability of overpriced superchargers, and the other type are those who don't do their research and got an EV with less than average range with outdated BMS tech (like an old leaf). Psychologically speaking, it's been engrained in people's heads that if there's no overpriced fuel within arm's length it's the end of the world for drivers. As an actual EV owner I avoid those like the plague for more reasons than 1, and only use them when I'm extra lazy and don't mind paying what an average ICE driver pays.

Road tax are for car that drive on the road .Electric car are more expensive to fix , battery lifespan is unsure ,battery fire risk, battery manufacturing is not environmentally friendly. if gov want to screw the electric changover for repurchasing or first time EV switchers for next 5 years at least, they couldnt have stupidly🙈 planned it any worse by removing all the financial carrots . Do the powers that be know that ev insurance is on average 20 to 30 % more expensive to insure 🤮and that public chargers work out in mile costs 🤮about same as traditional ice mpg. A good example of how daft r tax charging gets is my bro in law who runs a deisal 2016 suv , yes a deisal with manual gbox , HE PAYS SINCE he purchased it as a 1yr old vehicle 0 r tax , yes 0 lol , done 80,000 miles of deisal fume driving since, and never , never paid rtax and still doesnt up to this coming april 25 , but i think he might have to pay 20 pounds after april 25 , HE IS SHAKING IN HIS BOOTS lol , £ 20 pounds after 7 years of running a deisal .

I have the 03 z4 3.0 litre, automatic with the manual option. I never use the manual cuz when you push the sport mode button I cant shift aswell as the computer. Its a blast to drive in sport mode so much fun to drive while in auto. Most teslas or other Ev's back off after about 10 minutes trying to keep up with me on highway.😂

you have to use the choke ( atleast from what i know i might be wrong ) when the its cold outside like for winter and harsh conditions to make it start easier.

Having owned Porsche’s since the early 1990‘s. I can highly recommend the Z4. I bought one, because I was curious. Have truly enjoyed my z4 ownership and highly recommend. Simply because they brought for me enjoyment without the expense.

What year is your z4? I know in 2007 the aux for a z4 is hidden and out of sight is located right below the ac button above the heated seat buttons closer to the passenger side seat on the dash.

I bought my car end of last year and in January did my first full service at The dealership (Lexus) paid for full service + health check just to get the 1 year warranty for the battery. Car passed on the test and yesterday I saw the message on my dashboard about the cooling parts… went to the dealership and they ask for €170,00 just for diagnostic + the hours of work it would be more than €300 just to clean and reset the code 😂 I did by myself and cleaned the code disconnecting the 12v battery. My filter was super dirty, they never checked that when I did the service. I also just removed 3 clips from the side like someone comment on the other video, thanks a million again better use this money to buy new rims 😂😂😂

After looking at the videos on cleaning these elements on Toyota hrbrids I can only say how disappointed I am that Toyota chose to design the hybrid cooling components where they are so relatively inaccessible. I am sure Toyota is not alone in this flaw but really, this is a failure on Toyota’s design team for such a critical element of the hybrid system. It should be bo more difficult than checking or changing the gas engine air cleaner.
