I can't wait for this retrospective to get to MH3U and 4U. My favorite two titles aside from World. Just finished MHFU Village, and I've gotta say, the older era of "old world" was unforgiving. Wondrous videos so far.

They just revealed the flagship for MH Wilds, and I'm completely sold on its design. It's basically what Tai Lung from Kung Fu Panda would look like in dragon/drake form. It's awesome! All that's left to be shown is Monoblos, and it would be the perfect lineup. Still won't be a day 1 buy for me, though. Those system requirements are gonna break the bank for me. Plus, Capcom doesn't really have a good track record when it comes to PC releases.

yeah bowguns and bows are the only weapons that can hit his weakspot inside the shell with pierce damage (and dragon for Bow) Mellee weapons just kinda get screwed although in a party of 4. having 2 people with melee stun locking him and 2 with guns shooting at him, makes this fight go by much faster

Cool video, though I must say that people omitting Dark Souls 1's terrible hitboxes could be considered historical revisionism. Also, I didn't expect this many changes in this sorta-expansion, I though the farm was introduced in the second generation. To think I suffered through the first release only to see it didn't have to be this way...

This comment is probably too late, but I find Kirin to be extremely easy with HBG pellet, as the shots magnetize to the horn, it's weakest point. In order to unlock "A State of Crisis!", you need to slay 2 of every monster that can be encountered in village, even Kelbi, Aptonoth, Remobra, Thunderbugs, Skakalaka, etc... You can see how many small monsters you've slain by buying the Monster Info books and looking at the "Monster Reference" menu

Fun stream, man! I probably won't be around for most of them (I have college), but I think this is a pretty good approach to the series. Less editing required (I assume), and you seem more energetic interacting with your viewers.

15:27 I would recommend any monster hunter game. Including this one and DOS. You can play online as well throught a private server, in an actual ps2 or in an emulator.

Off the top of my head, I think the only monster that can heal without sleep is Qurupeco, I always panicked and rushed it whenever it tried haha.

Freedom 2 and Freedom Unite are pretty much the same, I'd be ok if you wanted to continue with MHFU

I'm actually a big fan of Teo and Luna in these old school games. While yes, they're essentially the same fight, I like how aggressive and up-tempo they are. Similar to monsters like Rajang, they constantly keep you on your toes. If there's one criticism I have for it is that the tells for some of their moves are basically just coin flips. Side note: I think the tell for their exploding powder move's range is if the powder particles (those yellow things) are still visible or not. If it's visible, you're in range. If not, you're safe.

you'll need to flick some settings and disable some stuff using cheats for 4U emulation. Regarding the maps, chances are the same rare stuff is where it was in 1, so machalite only spawns in certain places, it'd be well worth looking up the gathering point guide, the golden pickaxe points are often where the ores you actually need are. 21:38, Sonic bomb this stance.

Mam, Chameleos is so cool. I do hope they fix its camouflage gimmick if they decide to bring it back again. It was not good in Rise, I heard.

I call Kushala's vaccum attack the leaf blower LOL as for A State of Crisis, I *think* you need to kill 2 of every species including small monsters, even things like Great Thunderbugs. Subspecies count as well, so e.g. you can hunt 1 Rathian and 1 Pink Rathian and it'll count as 2 Rathian.

Gigachad shit to take on Kushala melee. Also, it's a really nice detail that the blizzard effect disappears from the area once Kushala leaves.

traps are automatically destroyed whenever a monster comes out from a borrow attack right under the trap, it happened to me with shogun once I was grinding out that quest for a part and every time id enter the zone and start hitting the prey it would just turn around and jump at the rathian to wake it up I think they hard coded them to try and wake up sleeping monsters in that zone, but since you already capped the rathian and the quest was complete they couldn't do anything and just keep attacking

It's kinda funny that they allow you to take down Chameleos and Lunastra before you can take down the Raths. It makes no sense, lore-wise 😅

I had to do some research on the lance tail cutting because that was throwing me off too, but *apparently* (idk if this is the case in the newer games but in F2 at least) lances do either cutting *or* impact damage depending on whatever the monster is the weakest to, so with that Diablos it looks like you have to hit the middle/towards the body of the tail for it to count as cutting, hitting the tip counts as impact damage. I've never heard of that before but it would explain it's diamond coated tail in that hunt!

Also idk if you noticed but for monsters like gypceros, to know if they are actually dead or faking it, look at the circle tracker from when you paintball them. If the circle goes from red/pink to grey it means you killed the monster.

GO FOR THE ELDER DRAGONS! You can do it as sort of a bonus episode and if anything you could go for chameleos. It was pretty hard at first but I realized that was due to me being mostly unprepared on my first hunt. My second hunt resulted in it retreating after taking a lot of damage. Hopefully by the third hunt I'll land a kill

Freedom unite hr and g rank are deff doable solo, i ve done it, hr is not super different from village/lr, g rank u might struggle more, so ull need to get good mix sets, wich i can help u with,also there is a website u can use to help u create mix sets with the skills u want is called BASS. Also, dung bombs work differently in 2nd ge , in order for them to work properly, the monster doesnt hve to spot u whwn u throw them

This game convinced me that MH needs to feel like minecraft sometimes, lol. The number of Earth Crystals you need is kinda crazy at times. Mined a lot, but for some weird reason, I had a fun time. Even farming monsters felt relaxing. Idk what it is. This felt like a "comfy game" to me.

This is very cool to see. If I ever run out of 3U, 4U, GU, Rise and World (and by that time Wilds) I will definitely have to go back to Gen1/Gen2. Currently focused on World where I never finished HR and then playing GU village when I have a bit less time in a sitting.

Azure Rathalos….that’s insane. 😂 I doubt I will play before Tri, though FU is tempting.

I've been replaying these after watching your videos, very much looking forward to the rest of the series, but about BLOO Rathalos - I ended up killing him with a throwing knife to wake him up but that meant I couldn't carve him because he was out of bounds. Ahhh!
